Jeffrey Epstein is named on almost every page of this wiki and until now has had none of his own. Measured against the desk’s published list as it stood when this page joined it, on 25 September 2026: of 330 published pages, 329 contain the string Epstein. The one that does not is Lara Pomerantz, which writes the name nowhere in its own text and carries it only inside the hostname of its source links. Of the 330, 309 contain Jeffrey Epstein and 92 contain Jeffrey E. Epstein, and 310 contain one form or the other. Adding Jeffrey Edward Epstein does not change that figure, and twenty published pages carry none of the three. This page is a first attempt at the one thing the other pages cannot hold: him as a single legal person, in what he signed, how he described his own position, who acted for him, and what agencies and firms did when he asked them for something.
Everything below is sourced to a document opened at the page image. Nothing is taken from another page of this wiki.
What this page is, and what it is not
It is not a narrative of the abuse. That material is held on the pages that were built and gated for it, and re-telling it here would put a survivor’s account on one more page without adding a document. Those pages are listed at the foot.
It is not a biography. There is no birth, no schooling, no career summary and no death notice below, because this page has not opened a document for any of them. Where this wiki holds an account of an episode, this page links to it and does not restate it.
Where a document blacks out a correspondent’s name, this page does not supply it, and does not describe the person beyond what the document itself shows them doing. Identity numbers, account numbers, dates of birth, personal telephone numbers and email addresses that appear on documents cited here are not reproduced here.
Nothing on this page is a finding of wrongdoing.
How he described his own position, 2006–2016
The documents below carry him, or his lawyer, telling an outside party who he was, in 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2016. What changes across them is the company: he writes to the U.S. Passport Office in 2011 as president of one company and in 2016, in almost the same sentences, as president of another.
In June 2006 a letter on the printed letterhead of NES, LLC, 9 E 71st Street, New York, gave a telecommunications supplier notice about an annual contract: “We do not wish to renew our contract on an annual basis. However, we would like to continue on a month-to-month basis.” If those terms were not accepted and a signed copy was not returned by June 30, “then this should serve as our notice of cancellation, effective as of July 19, 2006.” The foot of the letter carries the printed name Jeffrey E. Epstein, with no title, above a blank countersignature line for the supplier.8
In September 2010 he wrote on his own name as letterhead, JEFFREY E. EPSTEIN, 6100 Red Hook Quarter, Suite B-3, St. Thomas, USVI, with no company at all.1
In June 2011 he wrote to a federal agency as a company officer: “I am the President of Financial Trust Company, Inc., an international financial consulting firm, and travel internationally with great frequency.”4 The company is the subject of Financial Trust Company, Inc.
By 2014 and 2016 the request was being made for him by his attorney, and both transmittal letters list among the enclosures “A letter signed by the general counsel of Mr. Epstein’s employer explaining the need for Mr. Epstein’s second valid U.S. passport, including confirmation of his upcoming travel plans.”23 “Employer” there is the passport agency’s own form vocabulary rather than a description of his position: the two model letters the vendor sent his office in 2011 are attached to that email as Sample_Second_Valid_Letter_of_Request_from_Applicant.pdf and Sample_Second_Valid_Letter_of_Request_from_Employer.pdf.9
The 2016 run encloses the letter its own list describes, and that letter names the company. On Darren K. Indyke, PLLC letterhead, dated May 25, 2016 and addressed to the U.S. Passport Office, it opens: “Jeffrey Edward Epstein is the President of Southern Trust Company, Inc., an international financial firm, and travels internationally with great frequency.” It closes over a handwritten mark in blue ink above the printed block Darren K. Indyke / General Counsel to Southern Trust Company, Inc.10 So the attorney who signs as the employer’s general counsel is Epstein’s own attorney, and the employer is a company of which the same letter calls him president. The next sheet is Epstein’s own letter to the same office, on Southern Trust Company, Inc. letterhead and of the same date: “I am the President of Southern Trust Company, Inc., an international financial firm, and travel internationally with great frequency.” It is the only document cited on this page bearing his own printed name that also carries a handwritten mark above it.5 Its wording tracks the 2011 Financial Trust letter almost clause for clause, with the company name changed. The two-page 2014 run cited here carries neither enclosure.2
The second passport, 2011–2019
A traveller may hold a second, limited-validity U.S. passport alongside the standard book. The release carries Epstein’s side of that arrangement across eight years: the drafting of the first request in 2011, two re-issuances handled by a commercial expediting firm in 2014 and 2016, and the point in April 2019 at which the work was directed elsewhere and the firm stopped acting.
June 13, 2011: one letter, three drafts
Three separate one-page drafts of a letter dated June 13, 2011 to the “U.S. Passport Office, Department of State” sit in the release, each on Financial Trust Company letterhead and each closing over the printed name Jeffrey E. Epstein, President, Financial Trust Company, Inc. On all three the printed name stands alone: there is no handwritten mark above it.41112
All three open identically, with the passage quoted above and the statement that “I am frequently required on extremely short notice to schedule international trips with itineraries to multiple destinations requiring me to obtain multiple visas at the same time, which is simply not possible on such short notice without a second passport.”4 They differ in the reason given.
The first draft gives a trip already past: “For example, one month ago, on one week’s notice, I needed to schedule an important business trip to three separate countries in Africa for which I needed to obtain three different visas within that one-week period. Unfortunately, because of the tight schedule, I was unable to obtain the necessary visas in time with only my single passport.”4
The second and third give trips still to come, and name the countries: “I currently have an important business trip scheduled for July 6, 2011 to three separate countries in Africa for which I need to obtain three different visas; Sierra Leone, Mali and Gabon. I am also scheduled to be in Paris France from June 22-July 1, 2011 for business matters.”11 The third reorders the two trips and sharpens the request: “Please issue me a second passport so I may have the 3 visas issued for Africa while I am using my current passport in France.”12
The emails in the same run show why the reason changed. On June 13, 2011 a member of Epstein’s office wrote to Darren Indyke: “Hi Darren. Did you get my email on Friday about the letter I need to get a second passport for JE?”13 Her messages carry the sender name Sarah K, which is a header field; where she signs off, she signs “Best, / Sarah”.9 The same day she wrote to Katie Werner, a passport consultant at G3 Visas & Passports, Inc. of Arlington, Virginia: “Please see attached the letter from my employer explaining why we would need a second passport. If you think this looks good, I will write a similar one for myself and have his lawyer write one as a third person verifying as well that we are in need of a second passport.”9 No attachment line prints on the quoted message; that what she sent was the past-trip draft is an inference from Werner’s reply, not something these sheets state.
Werner replied at 2:33 p.m. Eastern: “Your employer’s letter is on the right track but the passport agency wants to see dates in the future (vs. past trips). I’ve attached two sample letters (one written by you and one by an employer) that are the EXACT format they are going to accept. If you reference this Africa trip but include specific countries and dates (in the future), they will issue you a second valid passport.”9 Forwarding that to Indyke, Sarah K wrote: “Darren, please see the attached. We need to change the trip details to a future trip to Africa. Je said we can say we are going on July 14th”.9
A revised draft did not satisfy the vendor either. Werner wrote back: “That letter is very similar to your first one in that it states a trip in the past. We can try this letter but there is a good chance the passport agency will suspend you request. To ensure the issuance of a second valid passport you’ll need to change the second paragraph to look like the below statement.” What she set out below it is a finished itinerary the applicant did not have: “I am currently traveling to Nigeria on July 1st, 2011, and will be returning to the United States on July, 11th 2011. On July 17th, 2011, I will be traveling to Kenya, and visas are necessary for both trips.” Under that: “You can change the countries to the places you were going to go (or did go to) but the dates must be in the future.”14 Both passages are quoted as printed. Sarah K sent a further draft.14 She then wrote to Indyke under the subject line “This is the letter the passport lady approved..”.15
The final message is a subject line and an attachment; its body is empty, and it does not say who “the passport lady” is.15 The documents cited here do not establish whether the trips named in the final drafts were taken, and this page has not searched flight or travel records for July 2011.
2014 and 2016: re-issuance through an expediting firm
Three years later the same arrangement was being renewed, and by then Epstein’s attorney was handling it. On June 25, 2014 Darren K. Indyke, PLLC wrote to G3 Visas & Passports in Miami, “As directed by Timothy Bennett of your Washington office,” enclosing eight items “in connection with the request of our client, Jeffrey Edward Epstein, for the re-issuance of his second valid U.S. passport.” Among them: “An original expired second valid U.S. passport of Mr. Epstein”; “Mr. Epstein’s signed U.S. passport Form DS-82”; “Two (2) completed and signed Letters of Authorization from Mr. Epstein”; and “A letter signed by Mr. Epstein in support of his request for a second valid U.S. passport.”2 Item 1 on that list is an order form for Concierge Level Service; item 3 is the expired second valid passport being surrendered, so by June 2014 a second passport had been issued and had run its term. No issuance record is cited on this page, and these letters do not say when or on which application it was granted.2
On May 25, 2016 the same firm wrote again, this time to G3 Global Services, LLC in San Francisco, “As directed by Hugo Nevarez of your San Francisco office,” with nine enclosures. Eight items to nine: the list adds one, “A pre-printed Department of State, San Francisco Passport Agency form regarding Mr. Epstein’s request for Issuance of a 2 year passport which has been signed by Mr. Epstein.”3 Item 3 stands in the same slot on both lists, and the change there is in the passport rather than in the list: in 2014 it is “An original expired second valid U.S. passport of Mr. Epstein”, in 2016 “An original second valid U.S. passport of Mr. Epstein, due to expire June 29, 2016.”23 Two other items change without changing the count: two passport photographs in 2014 become one in 2016, and two Letters of Authorization become four.23
The following day the vendor wrote about how the supporting letters had to line up with the form: “The letters of support mention the dates of travel. These need to match what’s on the application, however, when can input the dates on our end. No need to edit the application on this section.”16 The sentence is quoted as printed; it is garbled in the original.
The request was then reported done. A G3 associate wrote to the law firm, under the subject line “RE: Second Valid Passport for Jeffrey Epstein,” that “his passport request has been completed & is ready to ship to your 575 Lexington Ave Fl 4 address in New York, NY,” with a FedEx tracking number and a note that “due to FedEx cut-off times, the package will most likely be delivered on Thursday 6/02.”6
March–April 2019: a revoked passport, and the end of the G3 engagement
The last of these exchanges runs from March 11 to April 4, 2019, under the subject line “Jeffrey Epstein Passport Exp.March 7, 2029,” between the person handling the matter for Epstein and Inna Baranova, Atlanta Operations Director at G3. Its business is transferring a Russian visa into a renewed second passport.17181920
On March 18, 2019 the person acting for Epstein wrote: “HI Inna. Jeffrey has a second passport but needs to get a new one due to his status as registered sex offender. We will need to obtain this second valid passport before we can then try to transfer the Russian Visa. We will work with your Miami office again in securing this second valid passport, then come back to you!”17
On April 3 the same correspondent wrote: “Hi Inna. I now have Jeffrey’s 4 year passport. We need to renew the 4 year passport and transfer the Russian Visa to the new 4 year passport. Can you advise if I can send all this to you to have done? As a reminder, the 4 year passport was revoked due to Jeffrey’s status of a sex offender. So I am not sure if the is a renewal or a brand new passport we need to apply for.”18 The last sentence is quoted as printed.
Baranova asked: “when the 4-year was revoked – did Mr Epstein receive any letter from the US department of state at the time?” The answer, later the same day, came in two paragraphs. The first: “I would think so…let me ask his attorney.” Below it, after a blank line: “We had Jeffrey’s 10 year passport renewed recently in Miami (and it had been revoked as well) Jeffrey went to the main passport agency in Miami and had it turned around in 1 day.”19
The attorney was asked, and the answer is in the release. On a separate run from the same afternoon, under the subject line “Re: G3 Passport Agency”, the vendor’s question was relayed to Epstein: “G3 is asking me if you received a letter from the US Department of State at the time your 4 year passport was revoked…I asked Darren and he said yes, but he didn’t want me to pass along this information to G3 unless ok with you.” Then: “Do you want to me tell G3 you indeed received a letter from the Department of State when your 4 year passport was revoked?”21
Epstein’s reply, minutes later at 2:46 p.m. Eastern, read in full: “lets use somoen that doesnt have our whole story”.21 It reached a third recipient as well, to whom he then wrote “Sent in error”.21
These remain statements made inside Epstein’s office rather than records of the Department of State; what they record is that his attorney said a letter had been received, and that the answer was not passed to the vendor. The exchange with G3 ends the next day, on April 4, 2019, when Baranova wrote: “We have verified with the passport agency, and they stated that Mr. Epstein will need to appear in person to apply for the second valid passport. Thus, unfortunately, we will not able to assist with the passport renewal.”20 That is the vendor withdrawing. On Epstein’s side the direction to take the work to an agency that did not know his history had been given the previous afternoon.
The letter itself was not found by the searches run for this page, and neither was any notice from the Department or record of an issuance decision. Ten phrases were run against the full-text index of the whole release, which covers the House Oversight and DOJ productions as well as the EFTA one: revocation of passport, revoked his passport and passport has been revoked return nothing; limited validity passport returns 4 and revoke his passport 6; second valid passport returns 128, second passport 171 and Bureau of Consular Affairs 13. Passport was revoked returns 27 pages and they are not all one thread. Thirteen are copies of the Baranova thread quoted above; six are copies of the April 3 exchange in which the attorney’s answer is recorded, which is the material that answers the question this section asks; and eight are a different subject altogether, being pages of a book and an article about Edward Snowden, by an author whose surname is also Epstein. Each of the twenty-seven was sorted by reading the subject line on the page that returned it. The variant passport revoked returns five, four of them those same Snowden pages and one an exchange within a prosecutor’s office and the Department of State in July 2019, under the subject line “Epstein Passport”, in which one participant writes that “Consular Affairs will use the order to revoke his passport” and another replies that they take “absolutely no position on any State Department or other extra-judicial processes relating to Mr. Epstein” and had “never previously had a defendant who had his or her passport revoked upon arrest and/or detention”.22 That exchange concerns the passport he held on arrest in July 2019 and not the second, limited-validity book this section follows.
This wiki’s account of the 2019 federal prosecution, including the bail proceedings, is at United States v. Epstein (S.D.N.Y. 2019). Nothing from it is restated here.
September 2010: a law firm ends the engagement, and the files go to Darren Indyke
On September 2, 2010 Epstein wrote to James R. Brockway of Withers Bergman, LLP, New Haven, under the heading “Termination of Engagement/Transfer of Files”:
In response to your letter to me dated August 17, 2010 terminating my engagement of your firm, please forward any and all files and documents relating to your representation of me to my attorney, Darren K. Indyke, at the following address:
The letter then gives Indyke’s professional address and directs any questions to him; it is copied to Stanley N. Bergman, Esq.1 It is Withers Bergman that ended the relationship, since the letter records the firm’s own letter of August 17, 2010 “terminating my engagement of your firm”, and Epstein’s part is the instruction about where the files were to go.1 The Withers Bergman letter of August 17, 2010 is not in the run cited here, and this page has not established what it said or why. On the copy in the release the closing carries the printed name Jeffrey E. Epstein with no handwritten mark above it.1
Indyke is the subject of Darren Indyke, which covers his role for Epstein’s companies and his later appointment as co-executor.
Late 2017: engaging an expert in his own lawsuit
Epstein was a plaintiff as well as a defendant. In Epstein v. Rothstein, No. 50-2009-CA-040800-XXXX-MB, in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, the lawyer Bradley Edwards had brought a counterclaim against him, and in late 2017 Epstein’s side went looking for an expert to answer it.
Three engagement memoranda from the law office of D. Culver Smith III, P.A. of West Palm Beach are in the release, and they are not three copies of one document. They are three successive instruments, addressed to two different law firms, with two different scopes:
| Date | Addressed to | Scope stated |
|---|---|---|
| November 2, 2017 | Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart, P.A., c/o David R. Atkinson | ”to serve as a consulting expert regarding issues raised by Defendant Bradley Edwards’ counterclaim against Mr. Epstein”23 |
| December 7, 2017 | Link & Rockenbach, P.A. | ”to serve as an expert witness to testify on Mr. Epstein’s behalf”7 |
| December 12, 2017 | Link & Rockenbach, P.A. | the same, in a memorandum whose covering paragraph adds “your, his, and my respective rights”24 |
The December terms are that “Mr. Epstein will pay me a fee equal to $750.00 per hour of time that I devote to the matter,” including “travel time portal to portal and time spent on telephone calls,” against “an initial, refundable deposit of $15,000.00” held in the firm’s trust account, with the expert’s entitlement expressly “in no way contingent upon what testimony or opinions I provide, their admission into evidence, their acceptance by the court or jury, or the ultimate outcome of this matter.”7
All three memoranda are one-sided on the copies in the release, and each says so in its own terms. Each closes with what the document itself calls the expert’s facsimile signature, under the sentence “My facsimile signature below indicates my agreement with these terms. Please indicate your and Mr. Epstein’s agreement with these terms by signing below, having Mr. Epstein sign where indicated, and returning a signed copy to me.” Each carries above the printed name D. Culver Smith III a handwritten mark in blue. That sentence is not the paragraph immediately above the mark: on all three a paragraph beginning “I very much appreciate the opportunity and privilege of serving you and Mr. Epstein in this matter” stands between them, and on the December 12 memorandum the identifying sentence falls on the preceding sheet.252627 Two acceptance blocks follow, one for the instructing firm and one bearing Epstein’s own printed name, and then a notarial acknowledgment; on the November 2 and December 7 memoranda they sit on the sheet after the closing, and on the December 12 memorandum on the closing sheet itself. On all three copies every date line and every signature line in those two blocks is blank, both boxes in the notarial block are unticked, and the acknowledgment’s STATE and COUNTY lines are blank, so nothing on these sheets names the jurisdiction.282930 Each memorandum makes execution the trigger for the engagement itself: it “begins when I receive the deposit described in paragraph 3(c) below and a fully signed copy of this memorandum.”7 Whether a signed copy was ever returned is not shown by these documents, and no counterpart bearing a client-side signature was found in the runs cited here.
The Rothstein litigation is covered at Scott Rothstein; Edwards is the subject of Brad Edwards.

The quoted header prints a bare “3:12 PM” with no offset. 19:18:31 UTC is 3:18 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time; in Central, Mountain or Pacific time the sending message would fall before the message it quotes, so Eastern is the only continental United States zone the pair can be read in, and the correspondents’ offices are New York and Arlington, Virginia. No clock time from this sheet is printed on this page. The attachment filename prints with underscores intact on the image and with one underscore lost in the machine text. ↩ ↩2

Email, Sarah K to Darren Indyke, June 13, 2011, header timed 19:34:15 +0000, subject “This is the letter the passport lady approved..”, attaching FTCpassport.doc. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00562369 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi: the message has no body text at all, and nothing on the sheet identifies the person referred to in the subject line. ↩ ↩2

Email, Hugo Nevarez, Associate, G3, May 26, 2016, subject “RE: [G3 GLOBAL] Second Valid passport renewal instructions”, replying to a message received earlier the same morning. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00324500 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. The sheet does not state the recipient’s role or firm, and none is supplied here. The reply’s own header carries an explicit +0000 offset (15:56:58 on May 26, 2016); the message it quotes prints a bare “10:11 AM” with no offset and no zone stated on the sheet, so no clock time from this exchange is printed on this page. ↩

Email thread, subject “Jeffrey Epstein Passport Exp.March 7, 2029”, between G3 and the person handling the matter for Epstein, March 11 to April 4, 2019. The quoted message is dated “Monday, March 18, 2019” and runs across two sheets. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02281528 pp.9-10. Read at the image at 300 dpi. The export headers in this run carry no time zone, so no clock time from
EFTA02281528is printed on this page. The correspondent acting for Epstein is not named in the produced text of this run — checked over the text layer of all twenty-four of its pages, not a sample. On every sheet of this run that carries a header block, the field that would hold that name is blacked out on the image; p.10 is a continuation sheet with no header block. This page does not name that correspondent. That is the editorial choice set out in the scope above, and nothing should be read from it about what the rest of the release does or does not show. ↩ ↩2 -
Same thread, the message dated “Wednesday, April 03, 2019”. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02281528 p.6. Read at the image at 300 dpi. The sentence “So I am not sure if the is a renewal” is the document’s own wording. ↩ ↩2

Same thread, Inna Baranova’s question and the reply, both dated April 3, 2019. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02281528 p.2. Read at the image at 300 dpi. The machine text of this run renders her forename variously as “Iona”, “Irma”, “Inns”, “Enna” and “lima”; the image prints “Inna Baranova” in her signature block on every sheet checked. ↩ ↩2

Same thread, Inna Baranova to the person handling the matter for Epstein, dated April 4, 2019. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02281528 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. ↩ ↩2

Email run, subject “Re: G3 Passport Agency”, April 3, 2019. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01034447 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. Every passage quoted above from this exchange sits on this sheet. The sender of the question is blacked out on it, and this page does not name that correspondent; that is the editorial choice set out in the scope above, and nothing should be read from it about what the rest of the release does or does not show. The reply’s
From:field prints the single letter “J” over an email address; the message it answers is addressed to the holder of the revoked four-year passport; the confidentiality footer on the same sheet gives the property in the message as “JEE”; and the sheet’s own top message, from the same “J”, tells the third recipient “Sent in error” — which together are the basis on which this page reads the reply as Epstein’s. On this sheet the reply’s display line reads “2:46 PM” with no offset; that is the time printed above, and it is the only clock time on this page taken from this exchange. The zone follows from this sheet alone: its top header carries an explicit +0000 offset (18:52:55) and quotes a message displayed at 2:48 PM, and Eastern Daylight Time is the only United States zone in which a message displayed at 2:48 p.m. precedes it. Email addresses on this sheet are not reproduced here. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 -
Email exchange, subject “Epstein Passport” and “RE: Epstein Passport”, July 10 and July 31, 2019. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00018438 pp.1-2. Read at both images at 300 dpi: every
From:,To:andCc:field is blacked out, as are the names above the closing blocks, so no participant is named here and no participant is given a role. The offices below those names are printed: “New York Field Office / U.S. Department of State / Diplomatic Security Service” under one closing block and “U.S. Attorney’s Office / Southern District of New York” under the other. That is where the description of the exchange above comes from; no individual is described. The top export header on p.1 carries an explicit +0000 offset (20:25:28 on July 31, 2019); p.2 is a continuation sheet with no top header of its own, and the “Sent:” lines quoted inside the message blocks on both sheets carry no offset and no zone. No clock time from this document is printed on this page. ↩ -
Engagement Memorandum, Law Office of Culver Smith III, P.A., to Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart, P.A., c/o David R. Atkinson, November 2, 2017, “Re: Epstein v. Rothstein, No. 502009CA040800XXXXMB (Fla. 15th Cir. Ct.)”. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00795577 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. ↩

Engagement Memorandum, Culver Smith III, P.A., to Link & Rockenbach P.A., December 12, 2017, same matter. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00795695 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. Its footer prints the file reference “5035-001.engmtmem.03” where the December 7 memorandum prints “5035-001.engmtmem.02”; the machine text renders both as “cnenumcm”. ↩

Same memorandum, closing page, folio “Page 4 of 5” (stamped EFTA00795580). https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00795577 p.4. Read at the image at 400 dpi: a handwritten mark in blue sits over the printed name. One full paragraph — “I very much appreciate the opportunity and privilege of serving you and Mr. Epstein in this matter.” — stands between the mark and the sentence identifying it as the sender’s facsimile signature. The machine text of this page renders that mark as a string of unrelated characters. The footer of this sheet prints the file reference “5019-009.engmtmem.02”, read at 600 dpi — a different matter number from the “5035-001” the two December memoranda carry. ↩

Same memorandum, acceptance page, folio “Page 5 of 5” (stamped EFTA00795581). https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00795577 p.5. Read at the image at 600 dpi: both date lines and both signature lines are blank, and both boxes in the notarial acknowledgment are unticked. In the acceptance block one region is covered by a solid redaction bar. No dimension of that bar is given here and none is relied on: the geometry of a redaction is not evidence of what it covers, and nothing on this page is drawn from it. ↩
