Yury Molodtsov appears in the released Epstein files as an assistant to the venture capitalist Masha Drokova. Two documents generated inside Jeffrey Epstein’s own office say so in those words, a day apart in May 2017, and the correspondence found here shows him doing what the description implies: he settles appointment times, confirms and re-confirms them, hands over contact details when asked, and at the end of the year submits an expense claim and answers a query about the figure.
That is the whole of it. He writes to Epstein’s office and Epstein’s office writes to him, and the subject line on most of the exchange is “Re: Jeffrey Epstein”. No document read for this page records him attending any meeting he arranged, or says what was discussed at one. This page makes no allegation and records none.
What the office called him
On Wednesday 17 May 2017 at 1:50 PM, a message went to Epstein, addressed on the sheet to “Jefffrey Epstein”, reading:
Yury, Masha Drokova’s assistant, called asking to set =n appt for Masha tomorrow, Thursday May 16th in NY…she has an =ppt at 11am …OK to schedule her in for 1pm tomorrow? (she =eaves on Friday)
The stray =n, =ppt and =eaves are printed on the sheet, artefacts of the mail encoding rather
than of anything said.4
The following day an appointment alert carried the same description in its subject line and repeated it in its body:
May 18, 2017 1:00 PM : 1:00pm Appt w/Masha Drokova (Yury is her assistant
The unclosed bracket is as printed.5
These are the office’s own words about him, written for internal use rather than to him, and they are the only characterisation of his role found anywhere in the material read for this page. No document read here gives him a job title, an employer, or any other qualification.
The first appointment, and a date that was wrong
The May 2017 exchange survives as a single sheet carrying four messages, each with its own timestamp.2
The oldest, timed 17:10, came from Epstein’s office and gave the arrangements:
Hello Yury. Jeffrey would like to confirm the appointment tomorrow, Thursday May 16th at 1pm with Masha. Jeffrey’s home address is 9 East 71st Street between 5th and Madison. No apartment number, as he owns the entire brownstone…There is a bell on the right side of the wooden double doors…she just needs to ring the bell and someone will come let her in.
Molodtsov wrote back at 10:13 AM the same day. He supplied the number he had been asked for, and then queried the date:
Just to make sure we’re in sync: Thu May 18th, right?
On the sheet, “18th” is underlined. The reply came at 17:15:
YES Thursday MAY 18th! (so sorry!) thank you for Masha’s cell…we will see her tomorrow.
His own last message in the thread, sent at 2:15:47 PM, reads in full: “No worries, thank you for setting it up!”2
The office had written “Thursday May 16th”; the appointment was on Thursday 18 May, and the correction is in the documents themselves, not supplied by this page. A mobile telephone number passed in this exchange is not reproduced here.
Yury or Yuri
On 7 September 2017 Epstein’s office, having addressed him once by the other common transliteration of his forename, sent a short correction: “Sorry I spelled your name wrong earlier!! Yury!!” He answered at 6:30:43 PM that evening:
No worries, they are almost equally used as I see, so I’m fine with that.
The exchange is quoted here because it is the only place in the material read for this page where he is asked about his own name, and because it explains why both spellings appear in the files.8
A call moved
On 11 October 2017 Epstein’s office wrote to him under the subject line “Re: Delay Skype to 11:30am EST !”, with Drokova copied in. The message being answered reads:
I’m so sorry but Jeffrey must delay the Skype call to 11:30am EST.
He replied at 9:39 AM confirming he would deal with it, and the office acknowledged it at 1:44:34 PM with “Super thank you”. The sheet carries timestamps on more than one clock base, and each time given here is the one printed against that message.6
This is the ordinary texture of the file: a time proposed, a time changed, a time confirmed. What the call was for is not stated on this sheet, and this page does not supply it.
The expense claim
The last document found here in which he writes is dated Friday 29 December 2017 at 2:37:00 PM. It is short:
Please find the invoices and the calculation via the link.
The total amount is $7387.48.
and ends “Let me know if you need anything else. Best, Yury”.3
What Epstein’s office then did with that claim, including the correction of an arithmetic error in it and the cheque that followed, is set out on the Masha Drokova page, which is where the money belongs; this page records only that he submitted the figure and that the request had been flagged in the chain beneath his message the same morning, in a line reading “Yury will send you the amount and link on the costs for this trip.”3
How this page knows it is him, and what it leaves out
The strongest single document for his identity is a message of 27 August 2017, timed 5:39:23 AM EDT, which survives as a forwarded copy inside a later exchange. Its sender line prints his name in full together with his own e-mail address, and he signs it “Best, Yury”.1 That address is on a domain built from his surname, which is why his name reaches the released text in several broken and glued-together forms; it is not reproduced here, because this page does not print private individuals’ contact details.
The limits of this page, stated plainly. A search of the released files for his surname and for every corrupted spelling of it that could be enumerated returns 79 documents, all of them from 2017. Seven of those documents were read at the page image, and every name, date, time, figure and quotation printed above was read there rather than taken from the released text. The other seventy-two were read only as released text, and some of them were not read closely at all. That is the honest bound: a reader who wants the full run of the correspondence should go to the documents, not to this summary.7
Several further things this page does not do. Where a sender or recipient is covered on a sheet cited here, no name is supplied for it from context, even where the surrounding material would allow a guess. Documents in his file that concern other people are not described, characterised or cited. And nothing is said here about his work, his employer or his life outside these 2017 messages, because nothing in the released files read for this page establishes any of it, and this page cites nothing from outside the release.
What the documents do not show
- No document read for this page records him meeting Epstein.
- No document read for this page records what was said at any meeting, call or interview he helped to arrange.
- No document read for this page shows him handling, receiving or directing money, other than submitting the expense figure quoted above for someone else’s travel.
- No document read for this page makes any allegation against him, and no survivor account read for this page names him.
- No document naming him dated outside 2017 was found by the searches described here.

Counts taken on 25 October 2026 against the released files held by this project. The figure of 79 documents is the union of a search for the surname, which returns 66 documents; two further documents in which the surname is broken across lines or glued to neighbouring characters and so is missed by a whole-word search; and eleven documents in which he is referred to by forename alone in this same correspondence. Searches were also run for the forename alone, for the initial with the surname, for the surname-comma-forename order, for the alternative transliteration of the forename, and for every variant spelling of the surname that could be found by listing the searchable vocabulary of the released text. An invented control string was run against each search and returned nothing. Every document returned by a search for the surname also contains the forename, so no other bearer of this surname was found in the material searched. All 79 documents carry 2017 dates; the only later dates found anywhere in them are on April 2018 messages that do not name him. These are statements about the files read for this page and about nothing else. ↩ ↩2
