Melanie Walker is an American neurologist and neurosurgeon.¹ She worked for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which seconded her to the World Bank under the Bank’s Global Secondment Program in 2013.²³⁴⁵ Rolling Stone described her in 2021 as “a protégé of Epstein’s” who “became a top adviser to Gates at his Foundation and after that, became a senior adviser at the World Bank.”⁹ Emails and text messages released by the Justice Department under the Epstein Files Transparency Act record a correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, the earliest and latest messages read for this page being dated December 2009 and January 2019, in which she consulted him about her career, relayed to him material from inside the institutions she worked for, asked him for introductions and accepted his hospitality.⁶⁷ In October 2014 she sent a message from her World Bank address to “Bill Gates” and to a bgC3 colleague and blind-copied Epstein on it.¹⁰ In January 2013 she forwarded Epstein the draft Memorandum of Agreement for her own secondment, together with the World Bank’s conflict-of-interest guidelines and her terms of reference, with the note: “Here is the near final product. Just FYI. If you have any comments, send them!”³ Writing to a third party in September 2010 she described Epstein as a man she had known for “a full 20 years” who “made me stay in med school.”¹¹ No statement by Walker about the correspondence appears in any document read for this page.

Identification and public roles

The World Economic Forum’s list of participants for its Annual Meeting at Davos-Klosters of January 23 to 27, 2013, a copy of which is among Epstein’s files, carries a row in which the name Melanie Walker is set against the title Deputy Director, Special Initiatives, the organisation Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the country USA; the row was read from the page image.² The University of Washington Department of Neurological Surgery announced in September 2020 that “Dr. Melanie Walker” had been awarded an NINDS/NIH R03 grant.¹ Rolling Stone reported in August 2021 that “The Gates Foundation placed her at the international financial institution in a somewhat-common arrangement called a secondment,” meaning that “the Foundation paid her salary — even though she was working for the World Bank”; the documents below record the secondment directly.⁹³⁴⁵

The address [email protected] appears throughout the correspondence, in Epstein’s replies and in the quoted headers of forwarded messages.⁶¹² Her World Bank address, [email protected], appears on messages sent in 2013 and 2014.¹⁰¹³ Epstein addressed her as “Melz” in messages to third parties and the contact appears under that name and under the initials “MW” in extractions from his devices.^1415168

How she described the relationship

On September 23, 2010 Walker wrote to Alex Friedman, introducing him to Epstein under the subject “Introduction - Confidential”:

Alex - I want for you to meet Jeffrey Epstein. I can vouch for a full 20 years of bad behavior on his part…Jeffrey has been a big part of my life for almost that long. He made me stay in med school. He helped me stick to the things that were credible (as much as I wanted that modeling career) and of course continues to be a great source of support for me.

She described Friedman as someone who “came to Seattle to be the CFO of the gates foundation but found the leadership and vision to be both constraining and uncreative”; set out an idea of Epstein’s for a “microcurrency”; and added: “Jeffrey has had the idea of a microcurrency for quite some time. I tried to bring it up internally but got shut down almost immediately.” Friedman replied to both the next day: “Jeffrey, very nice to meet you by email. I have heard Melanie talk about you a number of times, always with great admiration.”¹¹

Asking Epstein for help with a keynote lecture in January 2011, she wrote that “in these 20+ years you’ve always been good at seeing through the details and helping me do what is right, important and forward thinking,” and described herself as “the only woman who has done both neurology and neurosurgery” and as double board certified.¹⁷

On September 3, 2018 she introduced Epstein to the neurosurgeon Neal Kassell:

Neither of you requires introduction. I’ve known Jeffrey 28 years and this isn’t a joke - Donald Trump introduced us. I first met Neal in 16 years ago when Bob Pirie introduced us …

Kassell replied the same evening, copying Epstein, “Thanks Melanie”, and Epstein and Kassell then arranged to meet in New York later that month.¹⁸¹⁹

The sentence about Donald Trump is a recollection recorded in 2018 of a meeting she places about twenty-eight years earlier, and it is her characterisation. A search of the full-text index for each of the identifiers by which she appears in the files, conjoined with Trump’s name, returned five documents: this email, the second copy of it, the two later messages described below, and one text-message extraction whose only occurrences of the name are inside two news-article web addresses.²⁰²¹ The same identifiers conjoined with “plaza”, with “1990” and with “1992” returned nothing.²⁰ No record of the meeting itself, and no response by Trump to her account of it, was located. Her own two datings are consistent with each other: “a full 20 years” in September 2010 and “28 years” in September 2018 both point to about 1990.¹¹¹⁸

Rolling Stone reported in 2021, on a source it did not name, that Epstein approached her at the Plaza Hotel in New York in 1992 and that Donald Trump, then the Plaza’s owner, was with him: “With him was Donald Trump, who was busy shaking hands with people in the room. (Trump was then the Plaza’s owner.) Trump also introduced himself to Walker.” The published account therefore agrees with hers that Trump was present at the Plaza and differs from it in two respects: it has Epstein rather than Trump making the approach, and it dates the meeting two years later than her own two statements do.⁹

Epstein and the Gates Foundation, 2010 to 2012

In March 2010 Walker wrote to Epstein about an idea she had put to Gates: “i tried to convince bill that you could easily develop a malaria vaccine if you just made humans immune to mosquito saliva. he told me i was an idiot”.²² On July 2, 2010 she reported the fate of another proposal: “PS - Mother’s Army shot down. (“Hasn’t that been proposed by someone else already?”)”²³ Mothers Army was a project Epstein had been discussing since 2009 with a correspondent addressed as Sarah, and domain names registered for it were later transferred to the Duchess of York.²⁴²⁵ On May 10, 2011 Walker told Epstein she would write to a correspondent she identified only as “S”, to say “that you will happily allow her to keep the mother’s army website”, and asked him how to put a further point: “should i suggest that you will allow her to keep the rights to it but you are happy to continue to pay the annual fee associated with the ownership and maintenance unless she wants to take that over. ??” Epstein replied “I will gladly pay”. Later the same evening she told him “i just blind cc’d you on the note to S”.²⁶

On April 2, 2010 she gave Epstein an account of efforts to arrange a meeting with Gates: “boris says he’ll see you soon with george whitesides he’s also trying to figure out how to position things for a mtg with billg the nathan factor is complicating things a little”.²⁷ In May 2011 she described a working session at the Foundation, “a 4 hour session today on waste and sanitation with bill and boris where I am the carbon person”, and Epstein replied with points to put to Gates: “remind bill that airline miles. SDR’s .. military offsets. , are neither borrowings nor taxes,,, Mckinseys suggested those two things as the only answer to innovative finance”.²⁸ She wrote back the same day: “mckinsey suggested SDR and military offsets? aren’t those things you suggested? they are stupid consultants for sure but bill asked the “smart” people (advocacy types) to come up with innovations in finance and they hired mckinsey.”²⁹ In February 2011 the two exchanged a longer set of notes on special drawing rights in which Epstein proposed “another competing sdr, could have fixed value,, transparncy, as it would all be done by the gates computers.”³⁰

In June 2011 she asked Epstein whether the former president of Senegal, Abdoulaye Wade, was “your friend”, and wrote: “i’m supposed to be in dakar to shape a grant in early july. can i meet him on a personal/non work visit, maybe for some baobab juice?” Epstein replied “yes”.³¹ Two weeks later, after Epstein passed on criticism of the Foundation’s approach, she set out at length what the Foundation was funding in Dakar, wrote that “sometimes I can’t find a fit for ideas since we do have strategic constraints laid out by Bill”, and proposed municipal-finance structures and a West African college of engineering. Epstein told her she had the politics “90 percent wrong” and warned her about a revenue figure she had given him: “you have also told me there was a 173 million dollars in rev , from your waste project. I have yet to see anything that approaches even 5.. Please be careful.. you are taleneted and smart. — bad numbers, unwanted ideas. are not good combos..”³²

From at least January 2010 she was asking Epstein whether to stay. “i am wasting my time working at the foundation?” she wrote on January 6, 2010; Epstein answered “stay calm.. i am 56”.³³ In February 2012 she wrote: “i’m really feeling like i’m ready to move on from the foundation but can’t move until i find a new job that is credible.” Epstein replied: “great,, will you come to ted.. we can talk there,, i will pay your way if that helps”.³⁴ In November 2012 she put a job offer from a commercial real-estate group to him; his reply was “leon black has the biggest operation. , he will know or can give me insight”.³⁵

The Foundation, and Epstein’s advice on it, May 2012

On May 21, 2012 Walker told Epstein she had sent two documents on projects of her own and did not want to email a slide deck because “it has some banking stuff.” Epstein wrote back:

I have given it a lot of thought. .. you should stay on the foundation .. tell them you will be doing some of your own work along side the wind down, and if they want to reduce your salary by 25% . the approx amount of personal time you will spend on these things . to do so.

He copied that message blind to Boris Nikolic.³⁶ Five minutes later she replied:

Yes. Have been thinking about that. I have 12-18 months to “wind down” the work - not sure how much/how long to stay. Boris (who doesn’t know anything of personal efforts) would like try to help with a plan B in terms of helping out maybe at BGC3. If I go to C3 I will be half time here, half time there — or even eventually just full time there. Not sure Bill will want me there though. But you are right - if I am going to do this, I need to keep it separate and am doing so.

She asked in the same message, “Is this a secure address to send you the slide deck?”, and said she was unsure whether to “just be frank with BIll and Boris and ask them to cover me for the next 12 months somehow since I have to stay in SEattle till then.”¹²

The World Bank secondment, 2012 and 2013

On October 22, 2012 she told Epstein she had been shortlisted for a job: “shortlisted (3 candidates) / interview will either be wednesday or friday / need advice on how to talk about this w bill if i get the job / likely to get the job since they have been asking me to do it for a few years.” Epstein asked “what job?”; she answered “offline / steve and i selected it together / match for my skills, real body of work,” and he replied “call me.”³⁷ On November 30 Epstein asked “when will you get feedback on worlkd bank, if they decline what is plan”, and on December 2 she wrote that the panel was “likely to decline”, that she had “a really cool plan/idea” that “still involves the WB,” and that she had “another note from Bill who really wants me to be at the WB.”³⁸

On December 10, 2012 Epstein wrote to Boris Nikolic, then Gates’s science adviser: “melanie is telling me the secondment is a sure thing , and she is going to work at world bank is it true”. Nikolic answered thirty-five minutes later: “Will tell you tmr. / It is still not confirmed— but do NOT tell her. / B”.³⁹⁴⁰

On December 15, 2012 Walker forwarded Epstein a note of December 14 from Cheryl M Scott, Senior Advisor, Global Programs at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, headed “Dr. Walker secondement”, which told a World Bank contact that the Foundation was “enthusiastic about the chance to have [her] seconded to the Bank,” introduced the Foundation’s employment counsel and a human-resources colleague, and attached a draft agreement. Walker’s covering note read: “also see attchment. i sent this to boris. he gets a weekly update. let me know what you think. should i do or say something different? as you know still pursuing a WB job that isn’t secondment which will ultimately be very similar.” Epstein forwarded the whole thing to Nikolic with the line “I asked her for back up”.⁴¹

On January 15, 2013 the World Bank’s Global Secondment Program coordinator sent Cheryl Scott the draft Memorandum of Agreement between the Bank and the Gates Foundation, “as well as the terms of reference and our conflict of interest guidelines.” That message, with all three attachments, reached Epstein’s address the same day under the note: “Here is the near final product. / Just FYI / If you have any comments, send them!”³ The conflict-of-interest annex states that a secondee “is subject to the World Bank’s Principles of Staff Employment, Staff Rules, and the Code of Professional Ethics”; that the Bank “expects Secondment staff, to the extent reasonably practicable, to disclose to the Bank any interests of their host employer within their actual knowledge which may entail a conflict of interest”; and that the Bank “will also make sure that Secondment staff do not have access to any non-public information, which in the Bank’s view would be impossible for them to maintain confidential when returning to their host employer.”⁴² The terms of reference record that the secondee would keep “responsibilities at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation requiring several hours of virtual presence on a monthly basis and in-person presence on a quarterly basis, when able. These demands are flexible and to be arranged with her managers.” The sentence that follows is underlined on the page: “No conflict of interest is perceived.”⁴ Two days later a further message reached Epstein’s address forwarding the Bank’s letter of appointment and terms of reference, with the words: “Well, feels like it’s final / Have to make announcement Monday / Can we talk Friday maybe.”⁵

bgC3 and correspondence with Gates, 2014 to 2017

On October 16, 2014 a message went from [email protected] to “Bill Gates” <[email protected]> and “Larry Cohen” <[email protected]>, blind-copied to “Jeffrey Epstein” <[email protected]>. Its subject was a Fortune article about a retiring Bain Capital partner, and it opened: “Bill / Larry - this is one person of interest related to the donor advised fund.”¹⁰

Two months earlier, on August 18, 2014, Walker had put a four-point plan to Epstein from her AOL address. Its first item was “Talk to Bill this week (should I ask about the DAF and mention Bill Helman or leave that you?)”; a later note read “my secondment is safe and enjoyable… Can I build an Econet story full time vs while still at World Bank (Sept 2015 expires).” Epstein replied: “You can suggest to bill that the daf is a great idea and I know people that I think would be right . First name I prpose is helman .” His next sentence breaks off at the edge of the produced page.⁴³

In April 2013 a message from her World Bank address to Boris Nikolic, which Nikolic forwarded to Epstein with the words “For your amusement!”, described a house remodel and named the architect as “Tom Kundig (architect we share w bill…)”.¹³

On February 24, 2017 she sent Epstein a draft scope of work under the subject “what about this?”, with the warning “Please know this will get scrutinized and also be used a very rigid ‘workplan’.” Its two focus areas were digital health security and “neurotechnologies and brain science”; its deliverables included a blueprint for a zero-knowledge-proof system for personal health information and a whitepaper on neural substrates of chronic and degenerative disease; and it listed “Reliance on Gates team expertise wherever relevant” together with named advisers and the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Councils on blockchain and on neurotechnology and brain science.⁴⁴ On March 3, 2017 a message reached Epstein’s address under the subject “Fwd: bgc3 Deliverables and Scope” and the note “Mail to both.” It carried, at the innermost level, a message of the same evening addressed to “‘Bill Gates’” and copied to Larry Cohen which begins “Bill — / Larry and I have been working on deliverables for my time at bgc3 since you and I spoke,” and lists five deliverables, among them “Whitepaper on Neurotechnologies as weapons in national intelligence and defense.” The sender fields of both the forward and the inner message are barred in the released copy.⁴⁵

On April 21 and 22, 2017 the contact whose avatar carries the initials “MW” reported to the device’s owner, in the same iMessage thread, the terms she had been offered for that bgC3 engagement: “Contractor 6 months 150k plus COBRA or whatever reimbursement”; that she could not route the money to a university “because the bgc3 work is proprietary and confidential and bill asked for 6 months of my brain and my time”, the sheet then printing, in quotation marks of its own, “He doesn’t want to share your brain.”; that “Larry agreed to allow me 20% time” for what the sheet again puts in quotation marks as “self exploration”; and that “The foundation is not making investments in neuro. Bgc3 would not offer institutional funding as it doesn’t do grants.” Late that night she wrote: “Bill told them to quit screwing around and get me settled. Here’s the contract.” Thirty-four seconds later the extraction records an attachment named “ICAwithNDA—MelanieWalker—bgC3 04.21.17.docx”. The following morning the device’s owner read the document back to her: “your contract is standard , makes no sense after that other email . in essence paying you a severance . of another 150. thats all it does.” She answered: “It says everything I learn do or think belongs to them in perpetuity so if I ever do alz work it belongs to them?” and “Not sure I can do much different”.²¹ The account of what Gates did is hers; no document read for this page records the intervention otherwise, and this page does not assert that it occurred.

On April 27, 2017 she forwarded Epstein a message Boris Nikolic had written the previous day proposing that “it would be great if Bill could meet Denali during his next visit to SF”, with a corporate overview of the biotechnology company attached.⁴⁶

MegaMel and ZuniMu, 2012 to 2014

On May 21, 2012 Walker told Epstein she had “a small slide deck with the general concept” and attached two documents named “ZuniMu Ethiopia May 2012.docx” and “ZuniMu Somaliland May 2012.docx”.¹² A presentation in Epstein’s files headed “MegaMel”, dated to May of an unstated year, sets out an organisational structure with a Delaware holding company and an investment arm. Its holding-company slide reads “Delaware Registration as Walker Holdings (aka, MegaMel”, followed by a smiling-face character and a closing bracket which the released text extraction does not reproduce. Its investment-arm slide reads “Mauritius Registration as ZuniMu (Zuniga Mundial)” and provides for “an operational arm and an R & D arm reporting to the CEO (Melanie)”. Its phase-one investments are waste-to-bone-meal projects in Somaliland and Ethiopia and plastics-to-polyester projects in Liberia and Zimbabwe; its “Persons of Interest” page lists a chief operating officer, two candidate chief technical officers and country project directors.⁴⁷

On March 17, 2013 a message to Epstein’s address read: “been asked to consider writing a book or two … would rather pursue larger scale private sector stuff. like start my MEGAMEL fund. thoughts?” Epstein forwarded it to Boris Nikolic, who replied with one word: “Mel?”⁴⁸⁴⁹ On March 22, 2013 a further message to Epstein, signed “MD” ended “When can we talk again about my next steps, megamel. Want to start in parallel”.⁵⁰

The World Economic Forum

On June 23, 2014 the contact recorded as “Melz” texted Epstein: “Can I say I advise you in your brain stuff for your fndn? I want to get on the BRAIN GAC at the WEF for personal interest / So I can hear about stuff and stay on top.” The reply from the device’s owner, one minute later, was “Yes.”⁵¹ A week later, on June 30, the same contact sent, five seconds apart at 11:54 pm, “Please help me get through all this!! I want financial independence so I can think more clearly and be productive!” and “Codename MEGAMELSY”.⁸ Walker had attended the Forum’s Davos meeting in January 2013 in her Gates Foundation capacity.²

November 2016

On November 10, 2016 Epstein sent Walker a link to a Daily Mail news report about allegations of sexual assault made against him and Donald Trump in a lawsuit. She replied: “Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry about these accusations. I wish there was a way to make them stop but glad that the truth surfaced.” She asked whether he had known the person who brought the claim; he answered “nope”; and she wrote back: “Ugh / Hopefully this nonsense stops NOW!!”⁵² In May 2017 Epstein sent her a Fox News link about United States policy on funding for abortion overseas, with the words “told you”; that message is addressed to “Melanie Walker, MD”.⁵³

Jim Yong Kim, 2017 and 2019

On May 7, 2017 Epstein asked the contact recorded under the initials “MW”: “did you go to davos with kim? korea?” She answered, four hours later, “I have been to Davos a ton. / Korea wow no.” and then “I have been to Davos the last 6 years!” Epstein asked next: “I was Kim there same time ? Who paid for trip”. She answered: “Jim has been to Davos 4 times I think and yes all the years I’ve been there too. / Don’t remember which years but if bank business bank pays. I didnt ever have access to travel system. Only the chief of staff.” Epstein pressed: “Melz you told me no trip overlapped !” She replied “Davos doesn’t count seriously” and “I’m a ygl and a council co chair”; Epstein wrote “Let’s stop”; and she went on: “This is so silly”, “I sat at desk next to him for 3 years.”, “I was his senior adviser it’s. It weird to be w your boss when it’s your job”, “He always has security, chief of staff, a portfolio assistant and a special assistant around him”, “There’s always a huge team EVERYWHERE even at the office”, and “And I haven’t been to Korea since I was 13 with my aunt”. Epstein’s last message in the exchange reads: “I’m on your team . This is crazy you cannot tell me categorically something that is provably not true . No overlap was found !! Your words that I transmitted . Only to be whacked”.¹⁶ The man she calls “Jim” and “his” in this thread is Jim Yong Kim: the thread opens on “kim”, she names him “Jim”, the entourage she describes is a World Bank president’s, and she closes on Korea. Jim Yong Kim was president of the World Bank Group from July 2012 until February 2019.⁵⁴

On January 23, 2019 Alexander Nazaryan, then a national correspondent for Yahoo News, wrote to her: “I’m investigating Dr. Jim Kim’s tenure at the World Bank for Yahoo News. In the course of that investigation, I have been provided correspondences from senior WBG officials to the bank’s board ethics committee. In several of those correspondences, you are significantly referenced.” The message was forwarded to Epstein the same evening under the subject “Fwd: Jim Kim”.⁵⁵ No document read for this page records a reply to Nazaryan, and this page does not assert that one exists.

Introductions, hospitality and errands

Epstein provided Walker with accommodation and travel. On March 30, 2010, arranging a visit, he wrote: “i have an apt for you and a car to use. i will gladly py for you ticket”.⁵⁶ In September 2011 his assistant Lesley Groff confirmed arrangements for a New York visit, noting that Epstein lived at 9 East 71st Street “but the apartments are located at 301 East 66th Street,” and asked whether Walker would like to bring “Jeff Sachs” along with Boris Nikolic to a Sunday visit.⁵⁷ In March 2012 Groff wrote: “I know Jeffrey says you are welcome to stay at his ranch for the July 15-16 Science of the Cities…did you wish to take him up on his offer?”; Walker answered, “Hi there! So generous of him. Geez.”⁵⁸ In December 2011 Epstein invited her and another person to “come to the isalnd”; Walker replied that the invitation “would be super nice and fun” but that the other person “said that he would rather wander the streets of NYC with you.”⁵⁹ In March 2015 she wrote to him under the subject “Thank you tons”: “For apartment!!!” Epstein answered “anytikme”.⁶⁰

She also passed material to him. On November 16, 2012 she forwarded Epstein an internal message that Steven Sinofsky had sent the previous evening to Microsoft’s Windows and Windows Live senior managers, with the covering line “Confidential please…”⁶¹ Ten days later she wrote to Epstein about senior Microsoft staff who she said would follow a departing executive to Apple, adding: “anyway, thought I might add this in case you see an opportunity to bring it up.”⁶² In March 2012 she relayed a question about a technology stock: “Steve says to ask if you if you ended up buying into Opera a while back. He suggested that you not but he was thinking of you - since their last revenue stream got axed today.”⁶³

Epstein made introductions for her in turn. In May 2017 he wrote “Call Melz Melz Caleb” to Caleb Harper of the MIT Media Lab, and Walker wrote to Harper the same day: “Hi - nice to be in touch - sounds from Jeffrey like a lot of great ideas in progress”.⁶⁴ In September 2013 a correspondent passed her a referral to a stylist at the Frederic Fekkai salon, and she asked: “Hey old buddy…thx a bunch. Can I name drop JEE? Are they buddies?”⁶⁵ In August 2013 Epstein wrote to the inventor Dean Kamen: “melz dean. melz world bank, dean - water, energy,etx.”¹⁴ In March 2017 Epstein told Boris Nikolic that “melz asked if i thought she should join you”; Nikolic answered ”??? / Join where?”, Epstein explained “your fund as you were getting into more brain stuff”, and Nikolic replied “Just got it! Sure! / More brain is always good”.¹⁵

On November 13, 2011 Epstein wrote to Groff: “try to schedule woody,, either edit visit or dinner. .. jeff sachs, ( mel walker ).. jes staley. richard axel,”.⁶⁶

She reported social encounters to him. On May 6, 2012, after an art fair in New York, Epstein wrote “having fun, art frieze new yor,, mrs staley thought you were interesting”; she replied “i tried to be super nice to mrs staley. tough to do in a crowded room”.⁶⁷ In October 2012 Groff coordinated with a Microsoft press officer to get her credentials for the Windows 8 launch event at Pier 57 and to arrange for her to travel to it with Epstein.⁶⁸

Bill Gates told the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on June 10, 2026 that he was introduced to Epstein in 2011 in the expectation that Epstein could raise money for global health, that the effort produced nothing and that the association was “a grave error in judgment”; that testimony concerns Gates and does not address Walker.⁶⁹

20. Method for the search claims in this section. The full-text index was searched for every identifier by which she appears in the files: the six name and handle forms this page carries ("melanie walker", "mel walker", "walker, melanie", melaniewalker, mwalkermd, mwalker1), the three private names (melz, megamel, megamelsy), the venture name zunimu, the topic pair "secondment" AND "world bank", the phrase "dr. mel", and twenty-nine further forms recovered by enumerating the index’s own vocabulary for every token beginning mw, mega, melani, melz or walkerm — almost all of them optical corruptions of [email protected], such as mwalkermdftaol, mwalkerrndiiiaol and melaniernmalkermdfpaol. Forty-one of these arms return at least one document; their union is 442 documents. Every one of those arms is anchored at the first character of an identifier, so none of them can reach a form whose first character is itself corrupt; and a round that harvests identifier-shaped tokens from the documents already returned cannot reach one either, because a document reachable only by such a form is by construction not in the population being harvested. A separate pass was therefore run that does not depend on the leading character: the index’s own vocabulary was enumerated for every term made of a leading fragment of nought, one or two characters drawn from a-z and 0-9 followed by walk, and again for every such fragment followed by alk — 2,666 prefix ranges in all. It returned six further forms of her address (inwalkermd, inwalkermdtt, inwalkernidra, mmwalkermd, rnwalkermd, niwalkennd) and four documents lying outside the 442: https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01741160 , https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01910150 , https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01911981 and https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01985319 . All four print [email protected] in the clear at the page image; the corruption is in the extracted text alone. The population is therefore at least 446 documents. That figure is a floor and not a total: it is bounded by the forms the search can address, and a first-character corruption longer than two characters, or one that also damages the letters walk, is not reachable by any arm run here. This page does not claim the set is closed. Two vocabulary forms were dropped as false positives on inspection (melz5, handwriting noise at https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00265247 ; melzgatt, an unrelated 2020 message at https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00263616 ), and none of the eight documents returned by "dr. mel" is her — seven are the optical corruption of “Dr. Axel” and one is a different physician. The bare name "melanie walker" reaches 12 of the 446, or 2.7 per cent; melz alone reaches 169, of which 168 lie outside the union of the name, handle, venture and topic arms. The conjunction figures quoted above were re-derived over all of these arms and over the four further documents, page by page: the identifier and the conjoined term must stand on the same produced page. ↩ ↩²
