Faith Kates is a New York modelling agent, a principal of the agency Next Management, LLC and, on the agency’s own filings, president of its member manager.221 The papers released by the Justice Department under the Epstein Files Transparency Act carry a continuous two-way correspondence between her and Jeffrey Epstein running from March 2009 to May 2019: her messages to him and his to her, in volume, across a decade. It is business correspondence and personal correspondence at once. He read her agency’s accounts and told her what to do about her private-equity investor; she told him whom to call, where to sit and what to buy; he bought her a stove, and gave $50,000 to a memorial fund she was raising for a man his own reply calls her brother, which the charity then sent back; and on dated occasions in 2009, in 2012 and in 2019 a young woman’s name passed between them, and she answered.

She is a living working professional and a business principal. She is named here in full, as bookers, agents, executives, accountants and lawyers are named on this desk. No model, no candidate and no young woman named in these documents is named on this page, whether or not a document labels her anything, and nothing here joins any named woman to a booking, a placement, a photograph, a visa or a payment.

What this page does not do. The correspondence is very large and most of it is ordinary: holidays, illnesses, children, restaurants, aeroplanes, gossip. This page quotes it only where the quotation carries an act with a date: a decision, a sum, an introduction, a refusal, an instruction. It does not characterise the relationship beyond what a quoted sheet says in its own words, and it does not treat a schedule entry as an event. Where two copies of one message differ, the copy quoted is identified in the note.

Her name, and the agency

The name in these documents is overwhelmingly “Faith Kates”, and that is how she signs. A second, hyphenated form survives only in the contact records: the address-book entry Epstein’s office used for her, which his assistant’s messages reproduce in the To field, is “Next Management Co. Kates-Kogan Faith M.”, and a professional-network notification of August 2013 preserved in the file prints her as “faith kates-kogan”, described there as “Owner, nextmanagement”.6227 A fax cover of 26 October 2010 from Jeffrey Kogan to “Darin” enclosed “the Financial Statement prepared by our accountants” in the names of “Faith Kates and Jeffrey Kogan”, together with what the memo calls “a Board Package (so referred to by our broker)”.2324 The statement’s supplementary schedule describes an “Interest in Partnership Holding Corporation, a corporation of which Faith Kates is the sole shareholder. The corporation owns 31% of Next Management LLC and 4 related Europeon entities.”24 The misspelling is on the sheet. This page does not reproduce the personal asset figures on the other schedules of that document.

The agency’s own corporate papers are treated at Next Management, LLC and are not re-stated here. Two points bear on her personally. The 52-page exhibit form of the agency’s amended and restated operating agreement, in Epstein’s files, defines the transaction that brought Golden Gate Capital in as a “Securities Purchase Agreement, dated as of October 2008, by and among Wilcor, PHC, Faith Kates, Joel Wilkenfeld, the Company and the members of the Golden Gate Group listed on the signatures pages thereto.”25 The exhibit’s day of the month is a blank printed rule and its signature page is unexecuted.25 And its governance clause protects her post directly: “Notwithstanding anything in this Agreement to the contrary, the Company may not terminate the employment of either of the Co-Presidents of the Company without the unanimous approval of the Board (other than the approval of the Co-President of the Company (or his or her designee pursuant to Section 5.4) whose employment status is at issue).”26 On the agency’s partnership returns she signs the electronic-filing authorisation over the printed line “Print your name and title:FAITH KATES”, with the title given on another year’s return as “PRES OF MEMBER-MGR”.221

An immigration and customs database printout made on 2 March 2006 and held in the investigative file carries petition records for a non-immigrant worker classification in which the petitioner is “NEXT MGT” of Watts Street, New York, the consulate is Paris, one beneficiary is recorded, the petition was received on 9 June 2003 and the validity period runs to 30 May 2006. The attention line on those records reads “ATTN: FAITH KATES”, a mainframe field that closes with no mark27. The beneficiary’s name, date of birth and passport number are blacked out. Another copy of the same printout in the release bars that field; nothing on this page is taken from any barred field, in that document or any other. The same 2006 printout family is the source of the Karin Models and MC2 petition records cited at Jean-Luc Brunel. A petition record establishes that an agency sponsored a foreign worker. It is not evidence of anything about the worker or about the agency.

A post of 19 May 2007 on a fashion message board, preserved in the file as a search-engine cache, states in passing that “Jean Luc Brunel was also one of the original founders of Next with Faith Kates prior to the Wilkenfeld Spectrum merger”.28 It is an anonymous post and is recorded here only because it is in the file.

2009: the first exchanges

The earliest dated correspondence in the release is of 21 and 27 March 2009. Her message says “Ill be there at9am monday what time r u around today we r on the plane waiting to” and he answers, six days later: “could you check on visa situation.. she spoke to joel.. can i help”.9 A second copy of the same message prints the line without the word “visa”; the copy quoted here is the one that prints it.29 The person referred to is not named on either sheet, and “joel” is not further identified on them.

Six weeks later there is an episode dated end to end, in which Epstein sends a young woman to her and she agrees to see her.

On the evening of 15 May 2009 Epstein wrote to a correspondent whose name is blacked out: “I spoke to my friend that owns , she will see you ,, to at a minimum give you advice and give me suggestions.. also[s]aid she could shoot you any morning,, she is learning to fly airplanes in the afternoon”.30 The extraction prints the friend’s name as a gap. The correspondent answered that she would “love to see the girl from .monday would be perfect.”30 At 11:01 the next morning he wrote again: “Is your book online? I would like to see it and or speak to you today before you see faith kates at next”.31 The correspondent replied that her book was on her existing agency’s website.32

At 18:30 that evening, 16 May 2009, Epstein wrote to Kates:

A girl i know is wondering if she should continue to try to model, her name is she is with major,,, i don’t want you to take her , but I’d appreciate it , if you could give her five-ten minutes of you time on monday.

The name is blacked out on the sheet, in the position where the line breaks.33 Two and a half hours later Kates answered: “Of course have her call laura ill see her mon / Xoxo”.3 A second copy of her reply, produced in a different format, prints it more fully: “Since it is important to you ..Of course have call laura my sec. ill see her mon. Xoxo”, again with the name barred.34

A booking is not an attendance. What these four sheets establish is that Epstein asked and that she agreed to give a young woman ten minutes on the Monday. Nothing read for this page records whether the meeting took place, what was said in it, or what became of the person.

2010: the ranch and the island

On the morning of 26 April 2010 Kates wrote to Epstein from an aeroplane:

On the flight with kevin…he was talking about how much he wants to go to santa fe and I know you never use your house… On line 30,000 above should I meet ovitz while I am in la? Kevin also says he is a great guy…when are you avail to talk to summer think you should talk by phone better than skype I think I can arrange it for later or tomorrow xoxo me

Epstein answered twice within five minutes: “either way.. id prefer skype,, today or next week” and “he is welcome to use the ranch”.43536 She wrote back: “Ok you have a house guest…ill call you when I land”.37

An hour later, in the same thread, she asked him: “Is your Island bvi or us”. He answered “u.s.” She asked “What was it called before u bought it” and he answered: “little st james. jarecki owns guana and norman island in the bvi.”3839 She then wrote that a companion was looking at an estate in St Croix to develop, and Epstein replied: “bad idea.!!! , rememebr the governor ;s wife is my secretary for ten years”.40 Her answer closed the thread: “Ok then I guess that’s why I don’t have an island…don’t leave me the island when you go…leave me land with a water view haha”.41

On the island, the thread is the only direct evidence read for this page. In April 2010 she did not know which jurisdiction the island was in, or what it had been called before he bought it. That is what the document shows and it is the limit of what it shows.

On 5 August 2010 she wrote to him: “Get vanity fair big article on ken starr page 207 didn’t read it yet”.42

Brunel, MC2 and Next

On 27 October 2010 a member of staff at MC2 Model Management in New York wrote to Kates: “Faith / my name is pink and I work for jean luc in ny. / he wanted me to get ahold of you as he does not have access / to his blackberry. / he just wanted to express his gratitude for how you handled the situation. / it made him very happy.”43 A value stands blacked out between “the” and “situation” on the sheet, so what was handled cannot be read from it. Kates forwarded the message to Epstein with one word: “Fyi”.43 MC2 was Jean-Luc Brunel’s Miami and New York agency; see MC2 Model Management.

On the evening of 11 May 2011 a correspondent wrote to Epstein, under a contact name the sheet prints as “Uncle F Jeffrey Epstein”: “Do u think I should do another photoshoot soon? Should I get in touch with Jean Luc or Faith Kates??”44 Twenty-two minutes later he answered: “Whatever you want . Jean Luc better”.45 The correspondent asked for Brunel’s address, and at 18:58 Epstein forwarded her message to “Jean Luc Brunel”, copying one other person.4647 Three hours later she wrote back to Epstein: “I emailed him”.48 Asked to choose between the two, Epstein named Brunel.

On the evening of 3 January 2012 Kates wrote to Epstein: “Ask jen Luc to int=oduce u to / .he is beautiful a baby eva meets / Vendela!!! / Hny”. The name of the person is blacked out; the extraction prints an = where a character is lost in “int=oduce”, and this page reproduces that.49 At 03:27 the following morning Epstein forwarded her message to “jeanluc brunel”.49 At 10:44 that morning he sent Kates a link to a web image search for a named young woman; the name is in the clear inside the link and is not reproduced here.50 She replied at 12:01: “Go to mc2 and put her name it trust me”.50

That is what the two sheets say. They do not say that anyone was approached, signed, booked, travelled or met anyone. Nothing read for this page records what followed either message. In each message the person or the agency she points him to is Brunel’s, not her own.

Epstein’s coverage, and her reaction to it

On 8 March 2011 Epstein forwarded Kates a message he had received from an account writing as “gmax”, which carried Vicky Ward’s article of that day on him and Ghislaine Maxwell. The forwarded text includes the sentence: “So spoke not Bill or Melinda Gates, but Ghislaine Maxwell, the 48-year-old woman being written up everywhere at the moment as the alleged “procurer” of young women for billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.”51 Kates’s reply, five hours later, was two words: “Call me”.51 The characterisation is the journalist’s, about Maxwell.

Two days later, on 10 March 2011, she wrote to him at 13:08: “Gma today spoke about the queen speaking to andrew about your relationship showed pies looks like from a deposition maybe blue polo shirt you were hooke”.52 The word the extraction prints as “pies” is “pics” on other copies of the same message. At 13:59 he answered: “you can now tell your children, how lucky they are, You would have been tortured.”53 On 15 March she sent him: “Andrew stein got 3 years probation and community service”.54

On 27 March 2015, at 02:34, she forwarded him a Google Alert for the search term “jeffrey epstein sex scandal”. The alert’s lead item was a Reuters report headed “Modeling agency owner alleges he lost business after Epstein sex scandal”, on Brunel’s civil suit against Epstein. Her covering line was: “What a piece of shit!!!”55 The sheet does not say what or whom she meant. Brunel’s suit is treated at Jean-Luc Brunel.

On 4 March 2019 Epstein sent her a bare link to a New York Times letters page of that date about himself, with no text.11

Golden Gate Capital: Epstein as her adviser, 2011 to 2017

One business strand runs the length of the correspondence: the agency’s relationship with Golden Gate Capital, the private-equity firm whose vehicle the 2008 operating agreement schedules as a minority member of Next Management.25 Epstein read the documents, gave her instructions, and at the end supplied his own accountant.

On 21 January 2011 he asked her: “Did he leave golden gate”. She answered: “I’m not sure ifs 100 official but close I think they r just working out some details why”.1256

On 28 November 2011 she forwarded him a notification from Golden Gate’s side and he read it back to her the same evening: “this says that golden gate has to give you the right of first refusal but i don;t see any obligation that you have.. i need to talk to michael..”57 He followed it with: “Ask michael if you and Joel want to sell , are there any restrictions”.58 The next morning, 29 November 2011, he wrote about a prospective purchaser:

my conem is that the russian buys women - goes thorough your books and then robs anyone who is good.. i think you should ask his advsisor to send you a purchase agreement, and emplyment contracts for you and joel. leave the numbners blank, to move it along.

Her reply, thirty-four minutes later, was: “Precisely can u deal with his rep?”5960 The message is Epstein’s characterisation of a prospective buyer of the agency. It names nobody.

The pressing continues for six years and its texture is consistent. On 25 February 2015: “if that cash on the balance sheet we was free, you and joel could merely “borrow it”.. have the exact same benefit.”61 On 14 August 2015: “did you ever hear back from golden gate?”, answered “No”.6263 On 22 October 2015: “lets make a better record of their results on the market.. whats happening with golden gate. will they let you buy them out”.64 On 2 November 2015: “Where are you today ? Did you get s price for golden gate”.65 On 3 February 2016 she forwarded him a country-by-country financial summary with the note “THESE ARE FROM GOLDENGATE” and he came back within minutes: “where are milies updates for dec and end of ye=r??” and then “draft???”6667 On 2 August 2017: “neils phone number . how much have you paid golden gate to date ?”68 Five days later, reading a message from Golden Gate’s Neale Attenborough that she had forwarded him, he wrote: “Good but i urge you to let rich sit with . Let’s get rid of Neil”.69 “Rich” is Richard Kahn, Epstein’s accountant.

From there the negotiation of Golden Gate’s exit runs through Epstein’s own office. On 20 September 2017 Kates forwarded him an inquiry that had reached her accountant from Golden Gate, in which Tyler Shean of the firm wrote that “We are currently trying to get a better understanding of the Company’s contingent liabilities, and were wondering if you have been provided an attorney’s letter about open litigation for your 2016 accountant review / audit.” Her covering line was “Read below where r u”; two minutes later Epstein forwarded the whole thread to Richard Kahn.7071 In October Kahn was setting the calls: on 23 October he wrote to Epstein, copying Kates, “please advise on timing for attorneys to connect tomorrow thank you”, forwarding Golden Gate’s scheduling message; the next day Kates wrote to Kahn “Send me the phone number please and who exactly alan will speak with thank you for arranging”.1472 On 15 December 2017 Epstein forwarded her Attenborough’s message of the previous day to Kahn, which opens: “The $11MM in total consideration is an EXTREMELY low valuation for this company, and frankly already takes into consideration the legal risks that exist with the company.”13 The rest of that negotiation is at Next Management, LLC.

Epstein’s accountant was on her side of that table. That is what the sheets show; they do not show any interest of Epstein’s own in the company, and none is asserted here.

An offer to fund a second business

On 10 August 2013, under the subject line “confidential but funy”, Epstein wrote to Kates about a woman he knew who had been matched through a dating agency with somebody at Golden Gate.73 She answered “Omg!!! That’s funny and ???”. At 12:12 he wrote: “ill fund your second tier , or dating if you want”. She asked “What does this mean??? / Xoxo”, and he answered: “your agency for next rejects? or your matchmaking co”.7475 Nothing read for this page records a reply to that, or any such venture.

What his office did for her

Epstein’s office treated her as a standing item. His assistants’ call-list notes report her calls and her availability across the whole decade: “Please call Faith Kates. She is in the office”; “Faith Kates will be free in about 30 minutes…Let her assistant know you will be stopping by. 15 Watts Street, 6th FLoor”.1576 His schedules carry appointments with her at her office at 15 Watts Street, at his house, and by conference call, and his forensic device extractions list her in the address book on his Macintosh and her birthday as a recurring entry in his calendar.77787980 A “PEOPLE LIST” of cell numbers and personal e-mail addresses, kept for him, carries her line with two assistants’ names under it.81

Specific services are dated.

On 22 September 2011 Lesley Groff asked him: “Faith is asking if we can type a letter and send via email stating that the Florida Science Foundation has given tables you have purchased for events, specifically, Super Saturdays, past and present, Legends, past and present, to Faith Kates and her guests. / Would you like Darren to type her this letter and send via email?”82 On 13 October 2011 she told him where a contribution of his should go: “Please request that your donation for this year be sent =o dr peter dottino’s lab. That’s who you should send the note =o from your foundation”. The extraction prints =o for “to” twice, and this page reproduces that. The episode and the resulting letter are set out at Next Management, LLC.83

On 28 June 2012 he wrote to her a one-word message, “Stove?”; she gave a figure of “12,487.87 including tax”; and his office asked him: “Faith Kates says you have kindly said you would buy her a stove…Please advise if you wish Faith to write a check herself and you reimburse her or do we give her a CC number? (she says either is ok…)”84

On 10 December 2012 she and Jeffrey Kogan were third and fourth on his table of ten at the Dubin Breast Center benefit at the Mandarin Oriental, a list on which the second name is Ian Osborne and the tenth is printed as “Mrs. Jeffrey Epstein”; his assistant’s note records the invitations to both of them as sent.1685

On 18 March 2012 he wrote her a long message about the apartment she was fitting out:

yes, . great apt. electric switches will be next tough decision. you must paint on the floor the rooms. where do the light switiches go. can you turn them on and off from both entries to the room.. for example you dining room needs two one at each entrance / the closet in the bedroom , when you walk in , you will be looking straight at a closet door . do you want them to open in the middle , you will not be able to put any photos on the wall. ? if the kitchen door is double swing.. either one way mirror , or slit wilth glass.?

The message she was answering was about something else entirely.86 The previous day’s schedule had him meeting her at that apartment.87

In May 2014 his office arranged an air charter for her and her son to and from Bedford for a day at Harvard: “Faith Kates and her son will be flying TO and FROM Bedford…I need to give her the details..I’ll hire Tristar…”88 His schedules for that period carry appointments with her and her son at his house.89

On 21 December 2016 a gift list kept by his office assigns her a Prada bag.90

On 7 June 2016 Groff wrote to a house-manager candidate: “We received your name from Faith Kates who highly recommends you as a house manager…Mr. Epstein would like to set up a Skype interview with you.”17 The interview was put on his schedule for 10 a.m. on 8 June 2016 and the entry names Kates as the source of the recommendation.91 The candidate is not named here.

In June 2016 she sent him a set of loan documents for a six-month aircraft bridge loan, with the covering line “What do you think of deals like this??? / xoxo”; the memo beneath it, describing the transaction and its terms, is unsigned on the sheets read.92 Six minutes later he answered with a link to a dealer listing for a 1999 Hawker 800XP.93 In May 2017 she forwarded him an insurance proposal for a premium-financing policy.94

In August 2017 he asked her for the full name of a charity he could not find online; she answered “Jtcc”, then “Junior tennis champion center”, and he forwarded the exchange to Richard Kahn.9596 An invoice of 1 September 2017 from the Junior Tennis Champions Center, addressed to “Ms. Faith Kates”, bills four seats in a box for the day session of 5 September at the 2017 US Open at $2,800.97

On 2 November 2015 she wrote to a third party on his behalf: “Jeffrey would love you to come to his house in NYC today if you are around??? I can’t today but he’s only in town fo”.98

On 6 February 2018, writing to somebody else about a comedian playing West Palm Beach, he offered her name as a credential: “You can tell him I am also friends with faith kates from next models”.99

On 23 March 2018, while his office was arranging a car for her, she wrote: “unless I hear from you he will be at your house at 830 Xo”.100

A single sheet in the release carries, on its second page, a one-line instruction with its To and From fields blank and no date printed, reading in full: “send 25k to / kates faith”. It bears Epstein’s office trailer. The first page of the same document is a thread of 6 May 2015 about her son’s bar mitzvah three days later.101 Nothing read for this page records whether that instruction was carried out, or by whom it was written.

The $50,000, and the charity that sent it back

The sequence runs six weeks and is dated at every step.

Michael Kates died in June 2014, and Epstein’s reply to her appeal for him opens with the words “re brother”.18102 On 19 December 2014 she sent a solicitation letter, on New York Junior Tennis & Learning’s mailing system, to a list that included Epstein’s personal address:

I was devastated when Michael passed away this past June. Now, with your help, I would like to build something in Michael’s memory that he would truly be proud of.

The letter asked for help naming a court at the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning in Crotona Park in the South Bronx, after a friend of hers and Michael’s who had played on the professional tour, and set the target: “contribute to my goal of raising $250,000 in his memory.”18

On 22 December 2014 at 07:15 Epstein wrote to her: “re brother , im in for 50k”. Her answer was “What can I say!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart / Love you”.102 The same morning he forwarded her message to Richard Kahn with two words: “from foundation”.102 Kahn asked “Please advise whom we will be making check payable to. Is it a 501c3.” and Kates answered him directly: “New York junior tennis league yes it’s a 501c3 / Do you need any other info?”102 The next morning Kahn wrote to a colleague: “Not sure if you did check yesterday. Please print check and have coordinate delivery with faith.”103

On 3 February 2015 the president and chief executive of New York Junior Tennis & Learning, Deborah Antoine, wrote to Epstein at the address of his foundation:

Thank you for your recent donation of $50,000 through your foundation, Enhanced Education, to benefit the New York Junior Tennis League.

Unfortunately, this contribution is not consistent with NYJTL’s gift acceptance policy, and as such, we are returning the donation. Please find enclosed a check in the amount of $50,000.

The letter is copied to Faith Kates. The cheque stub filed behind it is dated 3 February 2015, payable to Enhanced Education, and its description line reads “Refund Donation” against the Cary Leeds Center.104 Enhanced Education was Epstein’s Virgin Islands foundation.

The charity she had solicited for refused his money and returned it, and she was sent a copy of the refusal. Nothing read for this page records her response to it, or any further gift.

2019: the last exchanges

The correspondence continues to within six weeks of his arrest, in the same register as the rest.

On 12 and 13 February 2019 she was trying to reach him by telephone: “Tried you a few times you go to vm / Call me in the office”; “You go directly to vm”.5105 On 15 February he sent her a message whose whole body is “reminder you dont know the name of the uncle”, and she replied “To be honest I already forgot are you here this weekend / lol”.106

On 19 February at 16:35 he wrote to her a message whose text reads “Feedback on / London?”, with a further value on the sheet destroyed by redaction.107 She answered at 20:48: “Last day of London shows talking to them in the am”.108 The next afternoon he sent her something further, on a sheet whose subject line and body are blank, and at 18:19 she replied in full:

Thumbs down not there kind of girl the real issue is she has been around for a while people know here If she wants to work she should go back to Tokyo where she killed it. Her look and height is super limiting Sorry I tried…

An hour later his answer was two words: “appreciated thx.”19109

The subject of that assessment is blacked out or absent in every copy read and is not named here. What the exchange records is that in February 2019 Epstein submitted a woman to Kates for a professional judgement about her prospects in the business, and that Kates gave one and declined to take her.

On 4 March 2019 he sent her the New York Times letters link.11 On 15 May she told his office about the departure of a member of his household staff, and Groff thanked her: “Hi Faith and thank you so much…we had heard of his move! All very surprised. Appreciate you keeping us up to date. :)”110 On 30 May she wrote to Groff that her son had tried to call Epstein and would try again the next day; Groff answered “Very good!!” and forwarded the note to him under the subject line “Faith”.10

The January 2020 attorney proffer

On 3 January 2020 a Beverly Hills law firm, Jeffrey S. Pop & Associates, sent an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York an eleven-page “Attorney Proffer” setting out “my understanding of the facts and evidence that would bring forward regarding Jeffrey Epstein” on behalf of a client whose name is redacted throughout.111 The client is a woman who is not identified here, and nothing about her is reproduced.

Its fourth numbered section is headed “Faith Kates”. Two of its legible sentences read, in the copy quoted:

She owned Next Model Management.

and

believes that she might be significant because she heard Epstein ask her to introduce him to girls

The subject pronoun of the second is removed by redaction, the sheet prints no terminal mark after “girls”, and the section’s first line is destroyed by redaction in both copies in the release.20112 An intervening sentence states that the witness “understood that she introduced … to Jeffrey sometime in 2005”, the spaced ellipsis standing where the sheet leaves a gap; the name of the person said to have been introduced is covered in both copies.20

This is a witness account relayed by her lawyer in a submission to prosecutors. It is an allegation about what a witness says she heard Epstein say. It is not a charge, not a finding, and not a statement by any investigator. Nothing read for this page records that it was put to Kates, that she was interviewed, or that she responded, and no response by her appears anywhere in the release.

What the documents do not show

Bounded to what is cited above:

  • No finding of wrongdoing, and no allegation of it by any authority. Nothing read for this page records Kates as a subject, target or witness in any investigation, as a defendant or a party in any case, as a deponent, or as a recipient of a subpoena. Her name appears nowhere in the December 2019 memorandum on potential co-conspirators, in the interview-planning table in the investigative file, or in the Deutsche Bank payment schedule of alleged co-conspirators, all three of which name others on this desk.113 The one prosecution-side document in the release that does carry her name is the January 2020 proffer treated above.
  • No travel with Epstein. No flight manifest, passenger list or aircraft record read for this page carries her name. The only air travel the record attaches to her is a charter his office hired for her and her son in 2014, and a 2013 schedule reminder that she would be at a hotel in Puerto Rico over Christmas while he was nearby.88114
  • No visit to Little St James. No document read for this page places her there, and in April 2010 she asked him which jurisdiction the island was in and what it had been called before he bought it.3839
  • No outcome for any referral. For each of the three episodes in which a young woman was put between them, in 2009, in January 2012 and in February 2019, the record ends at the exchange. Nothing read for this page records a meeting held, a contract signed, a booking made, a trip taken or a payment made to or for any of those people.
  • Names withheld by the producer stay withheld. The names in the 2009 and 2019 episodes, the name in the January 2012 message to Brunel, the value between “the” and “situation” in the 2010 MC2 letter, and the identity of the proffer witness are all blacked out in the copies read, and no value is supplied here from any other copy or any other source. One name in this material is withheld here by the editor’s choice rather than by the producer’s.50
  • No statement by her. The release contains no interview with her, no letter from her lawyers, and no answer from her to any of the allegations quoted on this page.
  • What Epstein’s interest in her business was. The record shows him advising, instructing and lending his accountant. It does not show a stake, a loan, a fee or a security interest, and the agency’s own corporate papers in his files name no interest of his.
