Reid Garrett Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn and a partner at Greylock, is one of the largest correspondents in the released Epstein files who had no page on this wiki until today. The file is not a file of press clippings about a famous name. It is a working correspondence: some 280 messages he sent directly to Jeffrey Epstein between 2013 and 2019, a private-island visit in November 2014 that Epstein himself described in writing while it was happening, a chartered flight Epstein’s accountant booked for him from Boston to Teterboro so he could attend a breakfast at Epstein’s New York house with Bill Gates, a run of introductions he made (Charlie Songhurst, Mark Zuckerberg, Peter Thiel’s house in San Francisco), and two invitations, in August 2018 and February 2019, to a neuroscience summit whose advisory board he chaired. Nothing on this page is a finding of wrongdoing.

Identification: four traps in a single name

Do not key any figure on the surname. "Hoffman" returns 3,912 documents and the forename distribution behind it is mixed. It carries Paul Hoffman, the St Thomas lawyer and resident agent who is already published here; the economist Moshe Hoffman, whose own thank-you note to Epstein is cited on John Brockman’s page; and, in two Palm Beach County property tax rolls held by the House Oversight Committee, owners named Howard, Lindley, Herbert S, Diane B, Peter, Linda and Richard D Hoffman, none of them connected to this subject. A bibliography in the release cites “Pfeiffer T, R Hoffman (2007)”, a co-author of “Temporal patterns of genes in scientific publications”, a paper about publication patterns; a curriculum vitae in the release cites “Loftus, E.F., Weingardt, K.R., & Hoffman, H.G. (1993)”.12

Nor is the forename a measure of him. "Reid" returns 7,840 documents, and one sheet read for this page carries both Reids at once: Epstein’s schedule for Friday 5 December 2014 opens “Reminder Reid Weingarten to be in NY today” nine lines above “BREAKFAST Party w/Bill Gates, Josh Harris, Reid Hoffman & Ron Baron”.13 A January 2014 message on Joshua Cooper Ramo’s page lists six people a bank wished to meet, beginning “1) Reid”. The sheet gives no surname, and this page supplies none.14

The name forms that do reach him. The exact phrase "Reid Hoffman" returns 2,674 documents. Ten further forms each add at least one document outside that set, and every figure below is a count of documents, not of pages or of mentions:

union of the above2,738

The column does not sum to the union, and the reason is one sheet counted twice. The ten cells in the right-hand column add 65 documents to the 2,674, which is 2,739; the union is 2,738 because one document, the identity-page scan at EFTA00309500 described below, is reached by both "Hoffman Reid" and "HOFFMAN REID GARRETT". No other pair of forms overlaps outside the base set.

Two of these need saying plainly. "Reid Hoffinan" is the largest single gain and the desk’s own variant generator cannot produce it: ocr_variants.py applies the measured glyph pairs and returns only Reid Hoffrnan, one document. The min confusion that produces Hoffinan is not in its table. All thirty-four of the documents it adds were read for this page and every one of them is this subject: Epstein office day-schedules, a reminder that “Charlie Songhurst to be in NY Jan. 8,9 (Reid Hoffman’s friend)”, a contact list for a dinner at Martin Nowak’s office, and two messages Epstein addressed to him.15

"Hoffman Reid" is mostly not a surname-first form at all. The index tokenises a sheet as a single stream, so the phrase matches wherever a “Hoffman” is followed by a “Reid” across a line break, a parenthesis or a field boundary. The dominant context, 39 of the 97 documents, is an office schedule line, “4:30pm EST Skype call w/Reid Hoffman (Reid’s Skype name:”, where the match runs across the parenthesis into his contact detail. The second, 27 documents, is an office note headed Subject: Reid Hoffman whose body opens “Reid Hoffman is a GO for flight..”, matching across the subject-to-body boundary. Genuine surname-first renderings are 15 documents, all of them travel documents: a car service’s “Passenger Name: Hoffman, Reid” and a charter operator’s “Passengers: (2) / 1. Hoffman, Reid *Lead Passenger* / 2. Huttenlocher, Daniel”.162

One form was tested and excluded. "R Hoffman" returns 18 documents, 9 of them outside the base set. All nine were opened. Five are copies of a psychologist’s curriculum vitae whose bibliography contains “Weingardt, K.R., & Hoffman, H.G.”; two are the bibliography carrying that Pfeiffer line; two are the Palm Beach tax rolls. None is this subject, and the form is not counted anywhere on this page.17

How much of this file is his own writing

A count of documents naming a person is not a count of what that person did. The measurement below is stated completely enough to be reproduced.

The rule. For each of the 2,674 documents, take the document’s own first sheet, the row with the lowest page_number for that identifier, and the first twelve non-blank lines of it. Find the first line matching a sender label anchored at line start, over the seventeen damaged forms of From: the extraction produces. Its value is the inline remainder of that line if non-empty; otherwise the next non-blank line, unless that line is itself a header label, in which case the sender value is absent and the document is declined. Only the first sender label is used, so a quoted header lower on the sheet can never supply the sender.

And what counts as his name inside that value. Matched case-insensitively, anywhere in the value: reid followed by at most two non-letter characters and ho; or rhoffman; or hoffman, reid. The tolerance is deliberate, and it is where the uncertainty in the figure sits: nine of the 361 carry a truncated rendering of the name in the sender field (Reid Hoffma seven times, Reid Hoffmar once and Reid Ho once, the last of them the Stellar message footnoted below), and each of those nine was opened and is him. Requiring the untruncated surname instead of this pattern returns 352 rather than 361. A second implementation of the whole rule, written for the fix pass of 12 September 2026 without reference to the first, returns 361 and reproduces the window profile above; the footnote gives its figures under each variant of the name match.

The result. 2,185 documents yield a top-level sender; 362 have a sender label whose value is absent, barred or blank; 127 carry no sender label on the first sheet at all.

  • 361 documents, 13.5% of the population, carry his name in that top-level sender field. In 360 of them the name stands at the head of the value.
  • 922 documents address him in a To: or Cc: field without his name appearing in the sender field.
  • The remainder name him in the body, in an attachment list, or in a schedule.

The figure is stable and it is not the tool’s figure. Re-running the same rule over windows of 8, 12, 20 and 30 non-blank lines gives 360, 361, 361 and 361. The desk’s act_rate.py returns 239 on the same population; the gap is the tool’s known inline-branch fault, under which a single quoted header carrying an inline value anywhere in the first 2,500 characters routes the whole sheet down the inline branch and discards a stacked top-level header. This correspondence is forward-heavy and reply-heavy, which is exactly where that fault bites. Neither 239 nor 361 should be quoted without its method; this page quotes 361 and has just given the method.11

361 documents are not 361 messages. Of the 361, 348 carry a top-level timestamp this page could parse, and those 348 resolve to 272 distinct timestamps; 72 timestamps carry more than one document, covering 148 documents between them. With the 13 unparsed documents added at worst one-for-one, the 361 documents represent between 272 and 285 distinct messages. Four documents share the timestamp 13 March 2018 21:10:00.11

He is not a press subject, and the standard press test misfires on this population. Across all 2,674 first sheets, the markers that identify a news clipping return: SECTION: 0, BYLINE: 0, LENGTH: n words 0, FINAL EDITION 0, Reprinted 0, Copyright YYYY 0, UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 0, CASE NO 0. TRANSCRIPT returns 2 and Plaintiff 1. The one press pattern that fires heavily is All Rights Reserved, at 1,043 documents, and 1,027 of those are Epstein’s own e-mail confidentiality footer, which ends “copyright -all rights reserved”, with the residue being quoted-printable-damaged copies of the same footer and two instances of Hoffman’s own newsletter footer, ”© 2014 Reid Hoffman. All rights reserved.” and ”© 2015 Reid Hoffman, All rights reserved.” A measurement that reports this population as 39 per cent press-bearing is measuring a boilerplate signature. This is a correspondence file.18

Automated mail is negligible. Exactly two of the 361 are bulk-mailer envelopes: one whose sender value reads [email protected] on behalf of Reid Hoffman, and one reading Reid Hoffman <[email protected]> on behalf of Reid Hoffman <[email protected]>. Three further documents carry [email protected] in the sender value, one a display name reading “Reid Hoffman (MS Board of Directors)”, and one of the last documents in the file is addressed to [email protected].11719

The introductions

The clearest thing the sender documents show him doing is making introductions, and the clearest single instance runs over two days in December 2014.

On 8 December 2014 at 6:42 pm he wrote to Epstein under the one-word subject “also”. The body is two lines:

as a younger Jeffrey-type…

Charlie Songhurst: https://www.linkedin.com/in/charlessonghurst

Beneath it the sheet prints the link preview card LinkedIn generates, headed “Charlie Songhurst | LinkedIn”. His own address is blacked out; Epstein’s, [email protected], is printed.1 Epstein answered, “younger ‘n hopefully only chronolgically”, and Hoffman closed it: “yup• :)”. The top-level timestamps on the two sheets are half an hour apart; the quoted headers inside them are rendered in a different zone and no clock reading is carried across zones here.20

The next evening he completed the introduction, writing to Epstein and to Songhurst together under the subject “intros”:

Jeffrey, Charlie: have now talked with you both. NYC overlap, when it happens, is probably easiest. If I’m around (NYC unlikely) would try to show up. :)21

A month later the introduction is in Epstein’s diary. Lesley Groff’s schedule for January 2015, circulated on 6 January, carries under Thursday 8 January the line “Reminder: Charlie Songhurst to be in NY Jan. 8,9 (Reid Hoffman’s friend)”.22

The same form, eight months later, for Mark Zuckerberg. On 5 August 2015 at 8:55 pm he wrote a message whose entire body is four lines:

Jeffrey, Zuck,

email connections from the Ed Boyden dinner — so that convo can continue.

best,

Reid

The recipients print as “jeffrey E.; Mark Zuckerberg”, with no addresses beside either name; his own sender address is barred.23 Three days earlier Epstein’s schedule for Sunday 2 August 2015 had him in Palo Alto: “TBD Peter Thiel in the afternoon (Palo Alto)” and “6:00pm Mark Zuckerberg, Joi Ito and Reid Hoffman, etc. in the evening (Palo Alto) / Baume Restaurant / 201 California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94306”.24 The schedule and the message are three days apart and the message names a different occasion, the Ed Boyden dinner; this page does not assert they are the same event.

And for Peter Thiel, with the parking arrangements. On 22 March 2014 at 7:07 pm he wrote to Epstein under the subject “peter is avail 5pm his house in SF for about 2.5 hours”: “Would be fun; interested? I could come up. / We could make it shorter too in terms of time, if better.”25 Epstein replied, “perfect/ time ok,”; Hoffman: “ok; let’s plan it; will get you address tonight.”; Epstein: “done”. The following morning Hoffman sent the arrangements. On the image the body opens with a short redaction bar, then:

best to park in/give directions to the parking lot at the northern end of the Palace of Fine Arts.

C u @ 5pm.

The extraction of that sheet prints those two lines in the reverse order. The order above is the order on the image.26

An introduction he declined to claim. On 24 March 2014, the day after the Thiel meeting, Epstein sent him a link to an Arizona State University “Great Debate” event and wrote: “given the wide fun range of yesterdays conversation , if you and peter would like to be my guest I am sponsoring the above. I will fly in on the 4 and 5, you both can join my one on ones with Pinker on violence krause on string theory or inflation also david gross . venter on personal genomics. etc. Thanks again”. Hoffman answered, “Intros and event below (will check timing, etc., after breakfast interview of a CEO, but title sounds fun.) :)”, and, later that morning, “All work out with woody and ranch? :)”. Epstein’s reply in between reads, “I know little about boards and processes. but really enjoyed your views”.27

An introduction to a philosopher. On 6 September 2013 he forwarded to Kevin Slavin, Joi Ito and Epstein a message from the Stanford philosopher Jean-Pierre Dupuy, who had written, “I’ve started reading your book and I’m really excited about it… I’m sending you a tentative syllabus for my forthcoming course on the problem of evil”, above one line of his own: “This is the guy, btw, that I just asked.”28

And a judgement on an introduction he was asked to make. On 2 November 2014 Joi Ito wrote to Epstein and to him: “Would it make sense for me to meet with Larry Summers to get his thoughts on BitCoin?… Would either of you guys want to join the meeting or be willing to make the introduction?” Hoffman answered the same night:

Definitely, for an intelligent perspective. Seems like Larry is prioritizing, so you’re good. He won’t understand Bitcoin in depth, but will have some smart outside general/econ/bank thoughts.29

The island, 28–30 November 2014

The trip is documented from the first proposal to Epstein’s own account of it while it was under way.

The idea is Joi Ito’s and it is nearly a year older than the trip. On 11 January 2014 Ito wrote to Epstein, copying Hoffman, under the subject “Island trip after TED?”: “Jeffrey, are you going to TED? / Are you going to be at your island after TED? 3/21-3/23? Reid and I could go then if you’re there.” Epstein: “done ok”. Ito, again: “Are you going to be at TED? Reid and I are trying to figure out whether to get our own flight or hitch with you.” Epstein: “not currently planning to . but lets see . either way plan on coming”. Ito then asked, “Got it. Should we invite Joshua?” and wrote to Joshua Cooper Ramo, copying Hoffman: “Joshua, do you want to go to Jeffrey’s island with Reid and me 3/21-3/23?” Ramo answered, “Sounds good. I’ll put it down. J”3031 On 16 February 2014 Ito wrote again to Epstein and Hoffman, under the subject “Flying to the Island”: “I’m speaking in the 11:30AM session on Friday the 21st. It ends at 1PM and can leave any time after that. We’re still going to your island right Jeff?32 No document read for this page records whether that March 2014 visit took place.

What did take place is the November trip, and he agreed to it in writing. On 17 September 2014 Saida Sapieva, his assistant, circulated an itinerary to Epstein, Ito, Lesley Groff and Ito’s assistant Mika Tanaka Nakano: “Reid to take a Virgin America Flight from SFO to Fort Lauderdale, departing at 8:20 am, landing at 4:40 pm… Jeffrey’s helicopter to transport Reid and Joi from Fort Lauderdale to the St. Thomas, departing at 5:30 pm”. Epstein set out the same plan in his own words at 1:12 pm that afternoon:

joi flies to west palm from tokyo , stop in atlanta. arrive 8pm reid flies to ft laruderae my car picks him up, we all fly to island from there by jet to st thomas . and then heli to island, on sunday i will fly them to boston.

Hoffman replied to all of them, at 20:48:20 UTC, with four words: “this works for me.” The subject line of the whole thread is “Re: Trip to the Island - Nov 29-30?”33

Five days later the ticket was issued. Sapieva forwarded it to Groff and Tanaka under the subject “FW: Ticketed itinerary for REID GARRETT HOFFMAN on 11/28/14 to Fort Lauderdale”: Virgin America flight 340, SFO to Fort Lauderdale, Friday 28 November 2014, departing 08:20, arriving 16:40, seat 02C, class D-First, status CONFIRMED. Groff’s answer, sent two minutes later, is “great..thanks”.334

It happened. On Saturday 29 November 2014 at 06:22:30 −0400 Epstein wrote to the Harvard physicist Lisa Randall, who had told him the previous evening “Funny. I’m in St John’s. When are you there?”:

arrived with Reid Hoffman and Joi Ito in tow. . we are here until sun at 3. flying to boston you are welcome to hop on board35

The same Saturday, Epstein’s office wrote to Heather deManbey, whose signature block reads “Assistant to Joi Ito, Director / MIT Media Lab”: “our pilot is asking if Joi has a visa ….he says he doesn’t need the number, he just wants to make sure he has one for customs arrival”.36

And the departure is in the diary by name. The office schedule for the next day, quoted inside a message Epstein sent at 23:01 on 29 November, is headed “Sun. Nov. 30, 2014 LSJ-BOSTON” and reads “3:00pm Depart LSJ / 5:30pm Arrive Bedford Airport (380 Hanscom Field, Bedford, MA 01730) … 6:30pm Meet Martin at his Institute … 8:00pm Dinner at Martin Nowak’s office. Make sure a Dry Erase Board is available. / Martin’s Office: 1 Brattle Square, suite 6”, followed by a contact list, each name over a blacked-out value: “Joi Ito: / Reid Hoffman: / George Church: / Martin Nowak: / Larry Summers: / Danny Hillis: / Josh Ramo: / Joscha Bach:” and the line “Reminder: It is Larry’s 60th Birthday!!”37 The dinner had been fixed five weeks earlier; on 29 October 2014 Groff had written to Nowak, “Jeffrey would like to have the dinner in your office at 8pm on Sun. Nov. 30th. The attendees will be: / Jeffrey / Martin / Joi Ito / Reid Hoffman / Larry Summers / George Church”.38

LSJ is Little Saint James. Epstein’s own September plan put them on the island by helicopter from St Thomas; his message of 29 November says he had arrived with both men and would be “here until sun at 3”; the office schedule for that Sunday prints “3:00pm Depart LSJ”.

Epstein sent him a present the evening before he left. At 23:01 UTC on 29 November, in the message quoting that schedule, Epstein instructed his office: “get reid hoffmans adress from sexretaryy send two setsof hydrotone excercise pool dumbells”.37 The next afternoon Groff wrote to Sapieva under the subject “Gift For Reid from Jeffrey!”:

HI Saida…can you please alert Reid that Jeffrey has purchased him 2 sets of Hydro-Tone Water Weight Bells/Excerise Buoy Resistance Dumbbells….They are being shipped directly to Reid’s home address ▮ and should arrive between Dec. 3-11. Might you be able to confirm back to me once he receives them?

There will be no gift card in the package unfortunately…but I figure you have plenty of time to let Reid know to expect them!

Sapieva answered, “That is very kind of Jeffrey :) thank you for the heads up. I will let you know when Reid receives them :)”, and Groff closed, “Appreciate it :)”. His home address is blacked out on the sheet and nothing is supplied here.39

The chartered flight and the Gates breakfast, 4–5 December 2014

The day after leaving the island he asked Epstein to change a flight, and Epstein’s accountant booked it.

On 1 December 2014 at 10:11 pm he wrote to Epstein: “I have a thurs dinner… when does the airport close? is it possible to do Logan instead? / ideal would be 9:30pm pick-up — is that ok? or is it a hassle?” Epstein answered at 10:43 pm: “yes, to logan ok for 930 pick up”. The following morning the request reached Epstein’s accountant Richard Kahn, under the line “Reid Hoffman is a GO for flight.. Did JE send you any info or ask you to book?”, and Kahn wrote to Epstein at 13:28:39 UTC:

I see change for departure from Logan vs Bedford and hoping for 930pm departure to teterboro.

Is return flight still 11am Friday morning ttb to Logan as well.

Is Reid only passenger?

Please confirm and I will book this am.40

The reservation is in the release. JetSuite reservation #138269, “Account: Jeffrey Epstein / Contact: Kahn, Richard”, a Citation Jet 3, flight RSP269. Leg 1, Thursday 4 December 2014, KBOS General Edward Lawrence Logan International, Boston, departing 9:30 PM ET from Signature Flight Support, arriving KTEB Teterboro 10:22 PM ET at Meridian, aircraft N783JS. “Passengers: (2) / 1. Hoffman, Reid *Lead Passenger* / 2. Huttenlocher, Daniel.” Leg 2 returns from Teterboro at 12:00 PM the next day.2 The return destination moved while the booking was live: one copy of the reservation has leg 2 arriving at KBED, Hanscom Field, Bedford, and Sapieva wrote to the party on the morning of 4 December, “Hello team, We will be changing return to Boston Logan. So, just a heads up.”41

A car met the aircraft. CarsCo confirmation #133229, a black Lincoln Town Car, “Passenger Name: Hoffman, Reid”, Thursday 4 December 2014 10:22 PM, “2 passenger(s) / 2 pieces of luggage”, pick-up “TEB Airport … Outside the terminal pickup. TAIL # N783JS MERIDIAN”, drop-off “9 E 71 St (5 Ave / Madison Ave) 10021”, Epstein’s New York house, with one additional stop as directed, at a total charge of $153.55.42

What the overnight flight was for is on the next morning’s schedule. Epstein’s office circulated the schedule for 5–31 December 2014 at 10:14 UTC on 5 December. Friday 5 December opens “Reminder Reid Weingarten to be in NY today”, then a blacked-out name “at the house to help with Breakfast”, then:

8-10:00am BREAKFAST Party w/Bill Gates, Josh Harris, Reid Hoffman & Ron Baron

and, an hour later, “11:00am Reid Hoffman to depart for Meridian Teterboro, Flight Departs at 12:00pm” above the line “JOJO TO DRIVE REID TO TETERBORO”.13 The JetSuite reservation, the car to 9 East 71st Street and the breakfast are three documents describing one night.

Epstein afterwards told Elon Musk that he had been on the island “last weekend”. At 21:10 UTC on 11 December 2014 he wrote to him: “reid was on island last weekend , do you think you might be in carib for holidays?”43 Neither Epstein’s office nor his own correspondence puts either man on the island on the weekend before that message. The schedule circulated on 5 December heads the Saturday “Sat. Dec. 6, 2014 PB” and the Sunday “Sun. Dec. 7, 2014 PB”, and reaches the island only on the Monday, “Mon. Dec. 8, 2014 PB-LSJ … 5:00pm Depart PB / TBD Arrive LSJ”. The one line on it naming an island visit on 6 December names Musk and not him, and carries the office’s own question against it: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?)”.44 And on that Sunday Epstein wrote to Hoffman himself, “hope china meetings go well. can you remind me of smart guy .. ?? gordon?”, a month after Hoffman had told him, “SV as usual, although heading to China soon.”45 Which visit Epstein meant is not stated, and no document read for this page records a second one: the island weekend these documents fix had ended eleven days before he wrote.

He had raised a Gates meeting with Epstein before. In Vancouver in March 2014 he wrote: “1- would 2:30pm tomorrow work for you? Joi and I looking at our schedules and narrowing. We are about to break for this session. I may be able to do 3:30pm solo today too. / 2- are we going to do a gates mtg? Seeing him tonight for dinner in a group.” Epstein’s answer was “Both fine , bill with Melinda so not useful see you at 330”.46 In March 2018 he wrote, “Seeing Bill for two days next week”, in a message the sheet gives no surname for; this page supplies none.47

MIT, the Media Lab and a passport

The earliest document read for this page is from 15 July 2013, and it puts him at MIT with Epstein. An Epstein staffer wrote to George Church’s assistant: “Hi George…Jeffrey is asking if you would have any interest in meeting him at MIT on Friday…Jeffrey will be meeting with Neil Gershenfeld and Reid Hoffman…” Church answered, “I’d be delighted to meet.”8

Six weeks later Joi Ito proposed a call: “I’ve been emailing back and forth with Jeffrey about our favorite topic and we were wondering if the two of you might be up for a Skype about deception sometime. Where are you this week and next week?” Hoffman, writing to Ito and Kevin Slavin with Epstein copied, answered: “generally around this week and next. interested. :)”48 The call reached the diary: Epstein’s schedule for Friday 6 September 2013 reads “11am-12:00pm EST SKYPE w/Joi Ito, Kevin Slavin and Reid Hoffman RE Deception. Joi to initiate the Skype Call”, over three blacked-out contact lines headed “Kevin: / Reid: / Joi:”.49

On 29 April 2016 Epstein’s office told Epstein to bring Reid Hoffman’s passport to Cambridge. Lesley Groff’s schedule, sent to Epstein the evening before under the subject “Schedule Fri. April 29, 2016/Cambridge Trip”, reads:

Reminder: Take Reid Hoffman’s passport with you to Cambridge

9:00am Depart NY, Meridian Aviation

9:30am Arrive Bedford, Jet Aviation

… 10:00am Appt w/Martin Nowak … 3:00pm Appt w/Joscha Bach and Reid Hoffman at the Media Lab

and closes “Driver to wait at Joi’s for ride back to airport”.50

A scan of that passport is in the release. It is a single sheet, the identity page of a United States passport, carrying the printed name block “HOFFMAN / REID GARRETT / M / CALIFORNIA. U.S.A.”. Nothing on that sheet is reproduced or described here beyond his own name. Its Bates neighbours in the production are unrelated: a Connecticut LLC filing, a résumé, an American Express itinerary for a different traveller, and no covering document for it was located.4 This page does not explain why Epstein’s office held it. Epstein had been told in writing to carry it to Cambridge on a day when he had a three o’clock appointment with its owner at the Media Lab, and that is the whole of what the documents say.

A separate note of January 2014 shows how Epstein’s household got the name right. Someone writing to him about monogrammed sweatshirts reported: “Reid’s middle name according to Wikipedia.- Reid Garrett Hoffman - so it will be RGH with the H in the middle as the biggest letter. / Bills name according to online- William Henry Gates - so it will be BHG… / Joi Ito’s name in his passport is Joicho Ito. So it will have to be only 2 letters JI. / Boris doesn’t have a middle name so will have to be BN.”51

April 2016 also has him proposing to visit Epstein in Paris. Epstein forwarded a message from the cognitive scientist Joscha Bach with the line “joscha is a little advanced on the asperger scale, I have been coaching him so in essence I am returning your present with some additional emotional baggage”. Hoffman answered: “excellent. would you like some additional bags? we emo bag tags too. / will report as i meet him. / did i tell you that i’ll be visiting the vatican in June on AI?” Epstein: “come visit me in paris. before or after cool”. Hoffman: “will figure out a visit! probably 6/16 or 6/17: either work?”52

And in July 2016 he endorsed advice that Epstein harden his e-mail. Ito had written to Epstein, copying him: “Been talking to Vincenzo and doing more thinking about email and data security. I suggest you get Vincenzo to ‘lock you down’ - I think hiring hackers to try to get dirt on candidates ‘is a thing’ right now and my guess is that you’re a pretty good target. / Talked to Reid about this too.” Hoffman’s whole reply is “+1, fwiw!”53

Money: a Bitcoin company and a venture fund

No payment between Reid Hoffman and Jeffrey Epstein in either direction, whether as fee, donation, investment or transfer of funds, is recorded in any document read for this page. The one transfer of value the documents do record is a gift rather than a payment, and it is set out above: the two sets of exercise dumbbells Epstein bought him at the end of November 2014 and had shipped to his home. What the documents otherwise record is two funds and companies in which both men’s names appear.

Blockstream, 2014. On 7 May 2014 Austin Hill wrote to Epstein: “Just wanted to let you know it looks like we have a deal for our companies Series A. Looks like Reid Hoffman & Greylock are going to lead. Really have enjoyed our talks and would be happy to try & carve a small piece of the angel allocation out for you if you’d like. We only have a small amount of room for angels ($1.5 mill) but if you wanted to throw $50k in for a small taste to ride along on the adventure you’d be welcome :)” Epstein’s reply is two words: “I’m in”. That message does not name the company.54

Eleven weeks later Hill named it. On 31 July 2014 he wrote to Epstein and Ito, copying Hoffman: “We obviously have seen https://www.stellar.org/about/ … this is a problem for us. Would one of you please give me a call… basically I’ve been asked by the other cofounders to reduce or take your allocation away. Ripple, and Jed’s new stellar are bad for the ecosystem we are building and it does our company damage to have investors who are backing two horses in the same race.” Ito forwarded it to Hoffman and Epstein, under the line “I guess I should call him?”, and Hoffman answered at 10:01 pm: “Yes… I wasn’t anticipating the negative reaction. I’ll call him too.” Epstein, writing separately to Ito, said “as you know i dont trst austin”. Two days later Ito closed the thread to all three: “Thanks for the call Austin. Reid/Jeffrey, I think we’re synch’ed and OK. I’ve got some followup to try to help sync up Stellar and Blockstream.”5556

That Hoffman was a Blockstream investor is in his own words, in a document in Epstein’s files: his ICYMI newsletter of 5 February 2015, sent to Epstein, links to his own post “The Future of the Bitcoin Ecosystem and ‘Trustless Trust’ - Why I Invested in Blockstream”.57

Neoteny 4, 2018. On 21 January 2018 Epstein wrote to Ito, “Can discuss fund you like”. Ito answered the same morning: “Here’s the deck. We’re making another version now”, attaching Neoteny_4_Presentation_January_2018.pdf.58 That deck is in the release. Its running footer reads “Neoteny 4” above the words “Potential Investor Materials”; its printed page 4 describes a fund of thirty to fifty million dollars being formed by a company controlled by Joichi Ito, director of the MIT Media Lab; and its printed page 8, headed “Lead Investor”, is devoted to one person:

In particular, Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, has committed [$5-10 million] as an anchor investor in Neoteny and will lend his expertise and experience to help Neoteny find investors, source deals, diligence investment opportunities and add value to portfolio companies.

The square brackets around the figure are printed on the sheet.5

On 7 February 2018 Ito sent Epstein the fund documents (a summary of terms, a subscription agreement and an amended and restated limited partnership agreement, each dated 6 February 2018) under four lines:

Hi Jeffrey.

These are the fund docs. It’d be great if you could come in for 5-15M as an anchor with Reid, but if not, any amount would be great. Thanks.

The “Reid” of that sentence is given no surname on the sheet. The fund’s own deck, sent to the same recipient seventeen days earlier, names its anchor investor as “Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn”. No document read for this page records whether Epstein subscribed.

2016 to 2019: the newsletter, the invitations and the last documents

From 2013 he sent Epstein his personal newsletter, headed “ICYMI” above the line “My occasional roundup of interesting links and writing I’ve shared - in case you missed them. :)”. The corpus holds runs of it addressed to Jeffrey Epstein through 2016. Two are political. “ICYMI: Election Edition”, 22 September 2016, is signed “RH” and includes: “Last week I chose to support a young Marine Corps veteran’s effort on Crowdpac.com to urge Donald Trump to release his tax returns… I’ve also endorsed Hillary Clinton as my choice for President.60 “ICYMI: Final Election Edition”, sent to Epstein on 5 November 2016, opens “At last, we’re measuring the countdown to Election Day in hours, not days” and argues that “There is an opportunity to elect our first female president and keep our democracy from sinking into dangerous and unprecedented demagoguery.”61 Neither is a forwarded press article. Both are circular letters written and signed by him, sent to a distribution list of which Epstein was a member. They are distribution, not correspondence, but the replies on top of them are correspondence: on 6 July 2015, above one such newsletter and Epstein’s answer to it (“heyy it looks like your diet program has worked”), he wrote three lines of his own: “slow progress. / planning to see you in August. / Hope you’re well.”62

The correspondence continues past the 2016 election. On 6 September 2018 he wrote from a mailbox whose display name reads “Reid Hoffman (MS Board of Directors)”, sending Epstein a link under the subject “ICYMI”; Epstein answered “Nice”; Hoffman replied the next day, “Will try to get some time before the election.”7

On 3 August 2018 he sent Epstein an invitation to BrainMind. The message went to [email protected] and was forwarded into the Gmail account. It opens “Dear Jeffrey, / We are writing to offer you a private invitation to join the BrainMind ecosystem, the smartest collective thinking about the brain”, records that a person whose name is blacked out “has nominated you for this ecosystem invitation”, names the collaborating institutions as “the Stanford Department of Psychiatry, the MIT Media Lab, and a growing list of others”, and announces summits “at Stanford (Sept 8-9, 2018) and MIT (May 2019)”.63 The signature block on the first sheet runs to nine names, among them “Joi Ito, Director and Professor of the Practice in Media Arts and Sciences, MIT Media Lab” and “Reid Hoffman, Chair, BrainMind Advisory Board; Co-Founder, LinkedIn; Managing Partner, Greylock Partners”.64

On 6 February 2019 he invited him again. The message is from Reid Hoffman to Jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]>, copied to Michael McCullough, subject “BrainMind Summit at MIT. Save the Date.”:

Dear Jeffrey,

Please save the date for May 4-5, 2019 for the inaugural BrainMind Summit at MIT. An official invitation to register will follow shortly.

It names the scientists who would present, “George Church, Ed Boyden, Emery Brown, Nancy Kanwisher, Laura Roberts, Amit Etkin, Geoff Ling, Judson Brewer, Helen Fisher, Hugh Herr”, tells its recipients “You have all been selected for your brilliance, effectiveness, sincerity, and intent”, and invites them to nominate others.6 It was sent five months before Epstein’s arrest.

Epstein answered it twenty-two minutes later, and his answer names the difficulty:

thanks , if i come to the west coast. will you have the courage to meet ? :)65

Nothing read for this page records a reply to that.

The remaining documents are thin and late. On 4 March 2019 at 23:35 UTC Epstein sent him a bare link to a New York Times opinion page about Jeffrey Epstein; one copy of that message prints the address it went to, [email protected].6619 It was sent the same day Epstein wrote to Joi Ito, “brutal press. . sorry . it s[e]ems im a symbol for all ills”, a message set out on Joi Ito’s page. The last dated item in the population is a Google Calendar notification delivered to [email protected] on 16 March 2019: “Notification: reid hoffman @ Sat Mar 16, 2019 9am - 10am (EDT)”. A calendar entry records that something was scheduled and nothing more.67

What he has said, and what the government asked about him

His public statement is already carried on two live pages of this wiki, from a Recode article reproduced in the Southern District of New York’s daily news clips and held in the release. It is restated here in the same terms. The article describes him as a member of the Media Lab’s advisory board who took part in fundraising meetings at which Epstein was present, and quotes him saying, “By agreeing to participate in any fundraising activity where Epstein was present, I helped to repair his reputation and perpetuate injustice. For this, I am deeply regretful”. The same account reports that he said he vouched for Epstein because Ito had told him Epstein had cleared MIT’s vetting process.68 No statement by him addressing any of the documents set out above is recorded on this page.

On 24 July 2025 the Deputy Attorney General of the United States put his name to Ghislaine Maxwell. The exchange begins at the foot of printed page 182 of the first day’s transcript and runs through printed page 183:

TODD BLANCHE: Do you know somebody named Reid Hoffman?

GHISLAINE MAXWELL: I do.9

TODD BLANCHE: Who’s that?

GHISLAINE MAXWELL: Reid is a Silicon Valley guy.

TODD BLANCHE: Is what?

GHISLAINE MAXWELL: Silicon Valley.

TODD BLANCHE: And how do you know him?

GHISLAINE MAXWELL: Through my friends in San Francisco. I have a — I used to have a very close friend who is in San Francisco who’s part of that whole — I have several, actually, or had.

TODD BLANCHE: So is that a relationship you had kind of separate and apart from Mr. Epstein?

GHISLAINE MAXWELL: Separate.

TODD BLANCHE: Do you know whether Mr. Epstein had a relationship with Reid Hoffman?

GHISLAINE MAXWELL: I don’t know.

TODD BLANCHE: Did you ever observe Mr. Hoffman flying anywhere with you or Mr. Epstein?

GHISLAINE MAXWELL: No.

TODD BLANCHE: Or getting massages?

GHISLAINE MAXWELL: No. No.69

Two things are worth separating. Her answers about what she personally observed are answers about her own knowledge, and nothing in this page’s material places her at any of the events above. Her answer to the question before them, “Do you know whether Mr. Epstein had a relationship with Reid Hoffman?”, is “I don’t know”, and the correspondence set out on this page runs to between 272 and 285 messages he sent Epstein, an island visit, a chartered flight, a breakfast and a gift. Whether she in fact did not know is not something this page can settle; the disparity between the answer and the record is stated rather than resolved. The proceeding itself, its terms and its participants are set out at The 2025 Justice Department examination of Ghislaine Maxwell.

What this page does not establish

Both of the following are true and this page declines to choose between them. His rate of authorship in the population named for him is low: 13.5 per cent of the 2,674 documents carry him in the top-level sender field, and 922 of them address him without his writing anything on the sheet. The absolute mass of his own writing is nonetheless large: between 272 and 285 distinct messages, overwhelmingly to Epstein personally, sustained across six years. A page that quoted only the rate would understate him; a page that quoted only the mass would overstate him.

No payment, and one gift. Searches of the full-text index for "Reid Hoffman" conjoined with donation, wire, invoice, payment and gift return nothing recording money paid between the two men in either direction, and no bank record, ledger row or disbursement sheet naming him was located. The exception is a gift and not a payment: Epstein bought him two sets of exercise dumbbells at the end of November 2014 and had them shipped to his home, as set out above. That is the whole of the value that moves between them in the documents read for this page. The Deutsche Bank presentation of September 2019 that lists five payments on a “Joichi Ito” account, set out on Joi Ito’s page, carries no entry in his name.

No flight logs. "Reid Hoffman" conjoined with "flight log" returns nothing. The aviation documents cited here are a commercial airline ticket and a third-party charter booked on Epstein’s account, not entries in the pilots’ logs.

No victim material. "Reid Hoffman" conjoined with "victim" returns two documents, one a news digest and one an FBI file note listing other names entirely; conjoined with "Giuffre" it returns nothing; conjoined with "massage" it returns seven, six of which are copies of the April 2016 Cambridge schedule whose unrelated line reads “to take Thai Massage course April 29-May 1”, and the seventh the Maxwell transcript quoted above.

Two questions the documents raise and do not answer. Why Epstein’s office held his passport, and whether Epstein ever put money into the fund he was asked to anchor beside him. The disconfirming documents would be, for the first, a covering message transmitting the passport or a request for it, and for the second, an executed subscription agreement or a wire instruction naming Neoteny 4. Searches were run for "passport" conjoined with his name, for "Neoteny" conjoined with his name, for "Neoteny 4" alone, and for "anchor investor in Neoteny". Nothing of either kind was located.

No link below asserts a relationship beyond what the cited sheet shows.

  • The two pages that already named him, and whose account this page follows: MIT Media Lab and Joi Ito, for his advisory-board membership, his 2019 statement, and the Goodwin Procter review. Joi Ito is also the correspondent on the island trip, the Summers question, the Blockstream and Stellar thread and the Neoteny 4 solicitation.
  • People named on sheets cited here: Jeffrey Epstein (the correspondent throughout); Lesley Groff (circulated the schedules, arranged the gift, answered the ticket); Richard Kahn (booked the December 2014 charter on Epstein’s account); Joshua Cooper Ramo (invited to the March 2014 island trip; named on the 30 November 2014 dinner contact list); Martin Nowak (host of that dinner); Lawrence Summers (named on the same list, and the subject of the Bitcoin question); Bill Gates (named on the 5 December 2014 breakfast entry); Elon Musk (the recipient of Epstein’s message of 11 December 2014 about the island, and the name on the office’s stale reminder for 6 December); Larry Visoski (copied on the April 2016 Cambridge schedule); Ghislaine Maxwell (questioned about him in July 2025); Thorbjørn Jagland (named in Epstein’s message to him of 25 September 2014, which is set out on that page and not repeated here); John Brockman and Marvin Minsky (the Media Lab circle of the same years).
  • The surname trap: Paul Hoffman is a different person and shares 129 documents of the 3,912-document surname population.
  • Places: Little Saint James (the destination of the November 2014 trip, named “LSJ” on the schedule); 9 East 71st Street (the car’s drop-off on 4 December 2014 and the site of the breakfast the next morning).
  • Topics: The 2025 Justice Department examination of Ghislaine Maxwell; Calendars and daily schedules, whose own text notes that appointment records naming him “establish only that meetings were scheduled or planned”.

Sources

Fourteen of the documents cited below were rendered locally from the released PDF and read at the image for the writing of this page; each of those footnotes says so and gives the resolution. A fifteenth, the passport sheet, was rendered and read at the desk’s gate of 12 September 2026, and four more at the fix pass of 13 September 2026, which also rendered the second sheet of a schedule already among the fourteen. The remainder are cited from the text layer and are marked UNVERIFIED. Where a name, address or telephone line is blacked out by the producing party, nothing is supplied in its place. Identity numbers, and the frequent-flyer and payment-card values printed on the travel documents, are not reproduced.

EFTA00309500 p.1. Read at the image at the desk’s gate of 12 September 2026, which corrects this footnote’s earlier statement that the sheet had not been rendered. Nothing printed on the sheet is reproduced or described here beyond the name block above, which is his own name. The run is 1 sheet. The document is not in any citation register. Its Bates neighbours in the production are EFTA00309496 (a Connecticut business filing receipt), EFTA00309497 (a curriculum vitae) and EFTA00309501 (an American Express itinerary for another traveller); no covering document was located. 2

  5. Presentation, “Neoteny 4 — Potential Investor Materials”, printed page 8, headed “Lead Investor”. EFTA00805921 p.8. Read at the image at 300 dpi. The sheet is printed type in landscape, carries no redaction, and the square brackets around ”[$5-10 million]” are printed. The production stamp at the foot of that sheet reads EFTA00805928. The run is 9 sheets. Printed page 4 describes the fund as one being formed by a company controlled by Joichi Ito, director of the MIT Media Lab, and printed page 5 gives the fund size as thirty to fifty million dollars; both were read from the text layer and neither is quoted here. 2

  6. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to Jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]>, copy to Michael McCullough, Subject “BrainMind Summit at MIT. Save the Date.”, Date: Wed, 06 Feb 2019 18:37:07 +0000. 7. E-mail, "Reid Hoffman (MS Board of Directors)" to Jeffrey E. <[email protected]>, Subject “Re: ICYMI”, Date: Fri, 07 Sep 2018 19:40:05 +0000, body “Will try to get some time before the election.”, carrying Epstein’s message of 6 September 11:39 AM (“Nice”) and Hoffman’s of 4:02 PM, whose body the sheet prints as “Image removed by sender. ICYMI”. EFTA01024049 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The run is 3 sheets. 2 3

  8. E-mail thread of 15 July 2013 between an Epstein staffer, Meghan Radden (“Administrative Assistant to George Church and Fred Winston / Harvard Medical School / Department of Genetics”) and George Church, Subject “Re: Jeffrey Epstein”. EFTA02100583 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which renders the name as “Reid Hoffinan” and “Jeffity” for “Jeffrey”; the quotations here give both in their ordinary spelling, and the same substitution stands in the companion sheet named below. A companion sheet, EFTA02133230 p.1, carries the line “I understand Jeffrey will be coming to see you and Reid Hoffman this Friday July 19th at 1pm” addressed to “Neil”. The run is 1 sheet. 2

  9. Transcript of the interview of Ghislaine Maxwell by the United States Department of Justice, 24 July 2025. The opening question and answer, “Do you know somebody named Reid Hoffman?” and “I do.”, stand at lines 24 and 25 of printed page 182. EFTA02846680 p.182. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer of that sheet; the sheet that follows it was read at the image and is cited next. The same transcript is in the DOJ-OGR series at DOJ-OGR-00022393, whose PDF returns HTTP 403 and cannot be rendered by anyone; a condensed four-printed-pages-to-a-sheet version of the same day is at EFTA02846943. The run is 263 sheets. 2

  10. Corpus counts measured 2026-09-12 against /mnt/d/dump/AI-investigator/Epstein-research-data/full_text_corpus.db, over pages_fts joined to pages, counting distinct efta_number values and never pages. "Reid Hoffman" 2,674; "Hoffman" 3,912; the union of the ten forms tabulated in the body, 2,738. All figures are FTS5 phrase matches; the index covers every production in the release, not only EFTA.

  11. The top-level sender measurement described in the body, run 2026-09-12 over the first sheet of each of the 2,674 documents. Counters at a twelve-non-blank-line window: sender parsed 2,185, sender value absent 362, no sender label 127; his name in the sender value 361, at the head of the value 360; addressed without authoring 922. At windows of 8, 20 and 30 lines the sender figure is 360, 361 and 361. Addressee tally over the 361: to Epstein 353, to Joi Ito without Epstein 1, other named recipients 7 (of which three are damaged renderings of Epstein’s own name and address). Year tally over the 361, taken from the first Date: or Sent: value on the sheet: 2013 50, 2014 87, 2015 84, 2016 92, 2017 8, 2018 28, 2019 1, unparsed 11. Duplicate analysis: 348 of the 361 yield a parsable timestamp; those 348 carry 272 distinct timestamps, with 72 timestamps shared by 148 documents. act_rate.py '"Reid Hoffman"' "Reid Hoffman" returns 239 on the same population. Name-match sensitivity, from a second implementation of the same rule written for the fix pass of 2026-09-12: tolerant match at the head of the sender value 361 (windows of 8/12/20/30 give 360/361/361/361); tolerant match anywhere in the value 362; the untruncated surname required 352; and 367 if the test that declines a sender value which is itself a header line is dropped. The one-document spread between the 361 published here and the 362 that second implementation returns on the same match is in the sender-label sets, not in the name match: it recognises a slightly different family of damaged From: forms and so declines 133 documents for carrying no sender label where the measurement above declines 127. The nine documents between 352 and 361 are truncated renderings — Reid Hoffma (EFTA01750373, EFTA02373101, EFTA02397573, EFTA02491626, EFTA02495468, EFTA02495484, EFTA02663918), Reid Hoffmar (EFTA02379001) and Reid Ho (EFTA01916358) — all of them him. The six added by dropping the header test are one bulk-mailer envelope and five damaged sheets whose sender value is a subject line (“Subject Alert- 10:30 Phone Date w/Reid Hoffman” and four like it), which is not a sender field at all. 2 3 4 5

  12. Homograph resolution, 2026-09-12. "Moshe Hoffman" 221 documents; "Paul Hoffman" 129. The Palm Beach County property tax rolls at HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_016552 and HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_016696 carry owner rows for Hoffmans named Howard, Lindley, Herbert S, Diane B, Peter, Linda and Richard D. Both are container rows of over 2.3 million characters rather than paginated sheets and no page is pinned to either. The bibliographies are at EFTA00760692 p.12 (“Pfeiffer T, R Hoffman (2007)”) and EFTA00073070 p.18 (“Loftus, E.F., Weingardt, K.R., & Hoffman, H.G. (1993)”). UNVERIFIED, from search hits: none of these four was rendered, and none is relied on for anything but the negative point that the surname is shared.

  13. Schedule, sender barred, to Jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]>, copies to Lyn Fontanilla, Jojo Fontanilla, Merwin Dela Cruz and eight barred addresses, Subject “Schedule Dec. 5-31, 2014”, Date: Fri, 05 Dec 2014 10:14:21 +0000. EFTA00357330 p.1. Read at the image at 400 dpi. The schedule is set in italics. The image prints “Reid Hoffman” at both points; the extraction renders them “Reid Hoi9’man” and “Reid Hoffinan”. Four contact lines beneath the breakfast entry are covered by black bars, as is the name at 7:30am and the aircraft type at 4:00pm. The run is 4 sheets. 2

  14. E-mail, “COLOM, Olivier” to <[email protected]>, Subject “Re:”, Date: Sat, 04 Jan 2014 22:04:51 +0000, listing six names of which the first is “1) Reid”. EFTA00980582 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The thread is set out on Joshua Cooper Ramo’s page, which read the sheet at the image; that page likewise supplies no surname for “Reid”.

  15. "Reid Hoffinan" returns 71 documents, 34 of them outside the "Reid Hoffman" set. All 34 were opened in the text layer and the matching passage read; every one concerns this subject. ocr_variants.py "Reid Hoffman" --count, run 2026-09-12, generates two forms and finds only Reid Hoffrnan, 1 document; it does not generate Hoffinan. UNVERIFIED, from search hits: the 34 were read from the text layer, not at the image, and the only ones this page cites for content are separately footnoted and separately verified.

  16. "Hoffman Reid" returns 99 pages across 97 documents, every match classified for this page by what stands immediately after it, 2026-09-12. The dominant context is a schedule line, 39 documents: an appointment naming “Reid Hoffman” followed, inside the same parenthesis or on the line beneath, by his contact detail beginning “Reid’s” — “4:30pm EST Skype call w/Reid Hoffman (Reid’s Skype name:” (26 documents), “1-2:00pm EST (10-11:00am Pacific Time)- Reid Hoffman” over “Reid’s Skype ID:” (9), and “Reid’s cell:” or “Reid’s assistant is Saida:” under the name (3). The phrase matches “Hoffman” against the “Reid” of “Reid’s”, across the parenthesis or the line break. The subject-to-body boundary is the second class, 27 documents: an office note headed “Subject: Reid Hoffman” whose body opens with the name again — “Reid Hoffman is a GO for flight..”, 12 copies of it, and fifteen further notes of the same shape (“Reid Hoffman has rec’d the 2 sets of Hydro Tone Water Weigh[t]”, “Reid Hoffman is asking the urgency of the skype call”, “Reid Hoffmann assistant is asking”, “Reid Hoffman.vcf”). A further 9 documents are LinkedIn bulk-mailer updates that print the name twice in succession, and 9 are a salutation running on from the header (“Resent-From: Reid Hoffman” over “Reid, I have just landed in Frankfurt”). The genuine surname-first renderings are 15 documents across 17 pages, all of them travel documents: the CarsCo confirmation (8), the JetSuite manifest (6, two of which match on two pages each) and the passport sheet (1). Two documents fall in two classes, so the classes sum to 99 over 97 documents. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, save the car-service and charter documents footnoted below and the passport sheet, which were read at the image.

  17. "R Hoffman" returns 18 documents, 9 outside the base set: DOJ-OGR-00007494 p.33, DOJ-OGR-00015212 p.18, EFTA00073070 p.18, EFTA02825393 p.18 and EFTA02835304 p.33, all copies of a curriculum vitae whose bibliography reads “Loftus, E.F., Weingardt, K.R., & Hoffman, H.G. (1993)”, the phrase matching the token pair “K.R.” and “Hoffman” across the ampersand; EFTA00760692 p.12 and EFTA02443859 p.8, “Pfeiffer T, R Hoffman (2007)”; and the two Palm Beach tax rolls. Each of the nine was opened and the matching passage read. UNVERIFIED, from search hits: none was rendered; verifying at the image would cost nine renders and would not change the exclusion, since the surrounding text is legible in every case.

  18. Press-marker tally over the same 2,674 first sheets, 2026-09-12, each pattern applied to the first 4,000 characters: SECTION: 0, BYLINE: 0, LENGTH:\s*\d+\s*words 0, FINAL EDITION 0, Reprinted 0, Copyright \d{4} 0, UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 0, CASE NO 0, Defendant 0, TRANSCRIPT 2, Plaintiff 1, All Rights Reserved 1,043. Of the 1,043, 1,027 match the Epstein footer form copyright\s*-?\s*all rights reserved; the sixteen that do not were opened individually and are quoted-printable-damaged copies of the same footer save two, EFTA00679767 p.1, which carries Hoffman’s own newsletter footer ”© 2014 Reid Hoffman. All rights reserved.”, and HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_030003 p.1, which carries the same footer for the following year, ”© 2015 Reid Hoffman, All rights reserved.”, below the newsletter’s reidhoffman.org · @reidhoffman · unsubscribe · update profile line and above “You are receiving this email because we are connected on LinkedIn.” That sheet was read at the image at 7× native on 2026-09-14. An earlier version of this footnote gave the footer as “©2015” with no space and placed it above the unsubscribe line; the sheet prints a space after the © and the footer stands below that line, so one half of the formatting contrast drawn in the body against the EFTA 2014 footer was an extraction artefact and the two footers differ only in the year, the full stop after the name and the comma. What could not be fetched is the PDF: epstein-data.com/pdf/ returns HTTP 403 for HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_* identifiers, so render_page.py cannot reach it. That is a limit of the route. The sheet itself is an ordinary page image and is readable. Re-run for the fix pass of 2026-09-12, the printed regex matches 1,023 of the 1,043 and leaves a residue of 20 rather than 16; the four-document difference is whitespace tolerance in the matcher and the residue classifies the same way either way — 18 damaged copies of the Epstein footer and the two newsletter footers named here

  19. E-mail, J <[email protected]> to Reid Hoffman <[email protected]>, Subject blank, Date: Mon, 04 Mar 2019 23:35:20 +0000. EFTA01031610 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which prints nothing between the header and the standing confidentiality footer; whether the sheet prints a body is not asserted here. The timestamp is the same as that of the message at the previous footnote. The run is 1 sheet. 2

  20. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to “Jeffrey E.”, Subject “Re: also”, Sent: Monday, December 8, 2014 7:05:50 PM, body “yup• :)”, quoting Epstein’s message of 10:47 AM Pacific, “younger ‘n hopefully only chronolgically”, and, beneath it, the original. EFTA01747348 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer; verifying would cost one render. The bullet character in the sign-off is the extraction’s rendering and is not asserted as the printed mark. The run is 2 sheets.

  21. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to “Jeffrey Epstein; Charles Songhurst”, Subject “intros”, Sent: Tuesday, December 9, 2014 10:49 PM. EFTA02346257 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The sheet carries quoted-printable damage at two points inside the passage quoted, where a single character is replaced by an equals sign; the quotation is given as repaired. The run is 1 sheet.

  22. Schedule, Lesley Groff to Jeffrey Epstein CC <[email protected]>, Subject “Jan. 6-31, 2014”, Date: Tue, 06 Jan 2015 11:56:20 +0000. EFTA00355445 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer; the extraction renders the name as “Reid Hoffinan” and the quotation above gives the name in its ordinary spelling on the strength of the same reminder printing cleanly on other sheets of the same series. The subject line’s year is the sheet’s own and is one year behind the date field. The run is 3 sheets.

  23. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to “jeffrey E.; Mark Zuckerberg”, Subject “intros”, Sent: Wednesday, August 5, 2015 8:55 PM. EFTA01789503 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. The sender’s address is covered by a black bar; neither recipient’s name carries an address beside it. The body is exactly the four lines quoted. The run is 1 sheet.

  24. Schedule, Subject “SCHEDULE Aug. 1-8, 2015”, Date: Sat, 01 Aug 2015 15:52:18 +0000, sender barred. EFTA00344593 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which renders the two names as “Mark Zuckerbmg” and “Reid Hoffinan”; the quotation above gives both in their ordinary spelling and the reading is not asserted from the image. The run is 3 sheets.

  25. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to Jeffrey Epstein[[email protected]], Subject “peter is avail 5pm his house in SF for about 2.5 hours”, Sent: Sun 3/23/2014 1:07:35 AM. EFTA01930770 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The run is 1 sheet.

  26. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to Jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]>, Subject “RE: peter is avail 5pm his house in SF for about 2.5 hours”, Date: Sun, 23 Mar 2014 15:12:10 +0000. EFTA00986152 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. The body begins with a short black bar, followed on the same line by “best to park in/give directions to the parking lot at the northern end of the Palace of Fine Arts.”, with “C u @ 5pm.” on the line below. The extraction prints those two lines in the opposite order; the order given in the body follows the image. The sheet carries three quoted messages beneath, of 22 March. The run is 2 sheets.

  27. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to Jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]>, Subject “Re: email intros”, Date: Mon, 24 Mar 2014 17:42:28 +0000, carrying Epstein’s messages of 7:07 AM and 5:13 AM and Hoffman’s of 8:03 AM. EFTA00986231 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The extraction renders one quoted subject line as “Re: email Intros” and another sender value as “[email protected]”; neither is relied on. The run is 2 sheets.

  28. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to Kevin Slavin, Joi Ito and a third address, Subject “FW: been many years”, Date: Fri, 06 Sep 2013 15:17:57 +0000, attachment named in the header, forwarding a message signed “Jean-Pierre” of 16 August 2013. EFTA00716105 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which damages the forwarded sender’s name and the URL; neither is quoted. The run is 1 sheet.

  29. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to “Joichi Ito” and Jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]>, Subject “RE: Larry Summers”, Date: Mon, 03 Nov 2014 01:28:54 +0000, carrying Ito’s message of 2 November 10:36 AM. EFTA00999554 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer; the extraction renders “general/econ/bank” as “generailecon/bank” and the quotation follows a second copy at EFTA02595212 p.1, where the same passage reads “smart outside general/econ/bank thoughts”. The run is 1 sheet.

  30. E-mail, Joi Ito to Epstein Jeffrey[[email protected]], copy to Reid Hoffman, Subject “Island trip after TED?”, Sent: Sat 1/11/2014 5:45:21 PM, and the reply thread at EFTA01937606 p.1, Sent: Sat 1/11/2014 7:09:53 PM, carrying Epstein’s two answers. EFTA01937487 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. Each run is 1 sheet.

  31. E-mail, Joi Ito to Joshua Ram[o] and Epstein Jeffrey[[email protected]], copy to Reid Hoffman, Subject “Re: Island trip after TED?”, Sent: Sun 1/12/2014 2:39:50 PM, body “Awesome.”, carrying Ramo’s message of 12 January 6:48 AM (“Sounds good. I’ll put it down. J”) and Ito’s own of 11 January 3:09 PM (“Joshua, do you want to go to Jeffrey’s island with Reid and me 3/21-3/23?”). The extraction damages the middle of that sentence and the quotation follows the undamaged copy of the same words in EFTA01937606. EFTA01939975 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The run is 1 sheet.

  32. E-mail, Joi Ito to Epstein Jeffrey[[email protected]] and Reid Hoffman, Subject “Flying to the Island”, Sent: Sun 2/16/2014 9:37:52 PM. EFTA01933723 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. A second copy is at EFTA01790110 p.1, whose extraction carries quoted-printable damage the first does not. The run is 1 sheet.

  33. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to jeffrey E. <[email protected]> and Joichi Ito, copies to Saida Sapieva, Mika Tanaka Nakano and Lesley Groff, Subject “Re: Trip to the Island - Nov 29-30?”, Date: Wed, 17 Sep 2014 20:48:20 +0000. EFTA00362644 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. His own address and all four copied addresses are covered by black bars; Epstein’s is printed. His entire message is the sentence “this works for me.”; beneath it the sheet carries Epstein’s message of 1:12 PM, Ito’s of 4:06 PM and Sapieva’s of 13:01 with the itinerary, whose “November 28” block is complete on this sheet and whose “November 30” heading falls at the foot. The run is 5 sheets.

  34. E-mail, Lesley Groff to Reid Hoffman, Subject “Re: Ticketed itinerary for REID GARRETT HOFFMAN on 11/28/14 to Fort Lauderdale”, Date: Mon, 22 Sep 2014 18:52:42 +0000, body “great..thanks”. EFTA00362091 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The run is 1 sheet.

  35. E-mail, Lisa Randall to “jeffrey E.”, Subject “Re: hello”, Sent: Saturday, November 29, 2014 11:36 AM. EFTA02343997 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. The sheet carries, beneath her one-line reply, Epstein’s message of 11/29/2014 5:48 AM, a quoted message of 6:46 AM whose sender is covered by a black bar, and then Epstein’s message of “Sat, 29 Nov 2014 06:22:30 -0400” quoted in the body. The passage quoted on this page is that last message, reproduced with its printed spacing. A second copy is at EFTA02598858 p.1. The run is 2 sheets.

  36. E-mail forwarding a message from Heather deManbey, Sent: Sat 11/29/2014 10:28:55 PM, Subject “Fwd: Visa …”, carrying deManbey’s reply of 29 November and the office’s question of 12:23 PM. Her signature block reads “Heather deManbey / Assistant to Joi Ito, Director / MIT Media Lab”. EFTA02090234 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The run is 1 sheet.

  37. E-mail, "jeffrey E." <[email protected]> to a barred recipient, Subject “Re: Sunday Nov. 30th”, Date: Sat, 29 Nov 2014 23:01:25 +0000. EFTA00357882 p.1. Read at the image at 400 dpi. His instruction is the whole of the top-level body and is reproduced with its printed spacing and spelling. Beneath it the sheet quotes the office’s schedule for Sunday 30 November, set in italics, whose eight contact lines each carry a black bar where a number would be. The image prints “1 Brattle Square, suite 6”; the extraction renders it “I Braille Square, suite 6”. The run is 4 sheets. 2

  38. E-mail thread carrying Lesley Groff’s message to Martin Nowak of 29 October 2014 12:21 PM and Nowak’s and Epstein’s messages of 28 October. EFTA02092123 p.5. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which renders the sheet in a narrow broken column; the attendee list is legible in that rendering and is quoted from it. Further copies are at EFTA02092691 p.2 and EFTA02092927 p.2.

  39. E-mail, Lesley Groff to Saida Sapieva, Subject “Re: Gift For Reid from Jeffrey!”, Sent: Sun 11/30/2014 10:45:52 PM. EFTA02090520 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi, where the subject line ends in an exclamation mark; the extraction renders that mark as a closing parenthesis. Re-read at 600 dpi for the fix pass of 2026-09-12, where the sheet prints an ellipsis and then a full stop, “Resistance Dumbbells….They are being shipped”, the same mark Groff uses at “HI Saida…can you” and “unfortunately…but” on the same sheet; this page had printed a single space and a stop. The sheet carries Groff’s closing line, then Sapieva’s message of 5:32 PM and Groff’s of 1:54 PM, both marked with quotation carets. Reid Hoffman’s home address is covered by a black bar which runs over two lines, and the bar’s position inside the sentence is marked in the quotation with ▮. The extraction of this sheet truncates the sentence beginning “There will be no gift card”, dropping “unfortunately…but I figure you have plenty of time to let Reid know to expect them!”; the quotation follows the image. The run is 1 sheet.

  40. E-mail, Richard Kahn to Jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]>, Subject “Fwd: Reid Hoffman”, Date: Tue, 02 Dec 2014 13:28:39 +0000. EFTA01002181 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. Kahn’s four questions are the top-level body. Beneath them the sheet carries a forwarded message of 2 December 8:21:08 AM EST whose sender is barred, addressed “To: Rich Kahn” under the subject “Reid Hoffman”, reading “Reid Hoffman is a GO for flight.. Did JE send you any info or ask you to book?”; and beneath that Epstein’s message of 1 December 10:43:19 PM EST (“yes, to logan ok for 930 pick up”) quoting Hoffman’s of 10:11 PM. The run is 2 sheets.

  41. Leg 2 of the same reservation, “KTEB - KBOS / Friday, December 05, 2014 … AIRCRAFT: N786JS”, departing Teterboro 12:00 PM and arriving Boston Logan 12:44 PM. EFTA00309596 p.2. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer of the second sheet. A copy of the same reservation at EFTA00304927 p.2 gives leg 2 as arriving at Hanscom Field, Bedford, at 12:43 PM, and Saida Sapieva’s message of 4 December 10:29 AM, reading “Hello team, We will be changing return to Boston Logan. So, just a heads up.”, is at EFTA02089773 p.2. Both UNVERIFIED, from the text layer.

  42. CarsCo, Inc. dispatch confirmation #133229, “Passenger Name: Hoffman, Reid”, forwarded on Thur 12/4/2014 1:51:00 PM under the subject “Fwd: Car Dispatch Info: Conf# 133229 from CarsCo, Inc”. EFTA02090370 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. Further copies are at EFTA02089080 p.1, EFTA02089021 p.1 and EFTA00357669 p.1; the last of these was sent to Reid Hoffman himself on 4 December 17:18:50 UTC. The masked payment-card value printed on two of the copies is not reproduced. The run is 1 sheet.

  43. E-mail, "jeffrey E." <[email protected]> to Elon Musk, no subject on the sheet, Date: Thu, 11 Dec 2014 21:10:14 +0000. EFTA01003176 p.1. Read at the image at 400 dpi for the fix pass of 2026-09-13; the render was deleted. The quoted line is the whole of the body and is reproduced with its printed spacing, “last weekend , do you think”. Musk’s address is covered by a black bar, the only one on the sheet, and nothing is supplied in its place. A copy of the same message sent sixty-three seconds earlier reads “reid was on the island last weekend, do you think you will be in carib for xmas? new years?”EFTA01003175 p.1, Date: Thu, 11 Dec 2014 21:09:11 +0000 — and it did not reach him: the delivery-failure notice carrying it back, “rejected by the server for the recipient domain spacex.com”, is EFTA00650181 p.1, a run of 2 sheets. Further copies of the two messages are at EFTA02598722 p.1 and EFTA02598759 p.1. Every sheet in this footnote except EFTA01003176 is UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. Each of the other runs is 1 sheet. Neither wording is quoted here as evidence that he was on the island in December; the sheet carries Epstein’s statement and the two sheets at the next footnotes are what it is tested against.

  44. The same schedule as the one cited at the breakfast above, EFTA00357330, pp.1 and 2. Both sheets read at the image at 400 dpi for the fix pass of 2026-09-13; the renders were deleted. “Sat. Dec. 6, 2014 PB” stands alone at the foot of p.1 — the extraction of that line renders it “PK”; the image prints “PB” — and the Musk reminder, the Sunday and the Monday blocks are on p.2, whose own stamp is EFTA00357331. Five values on p.2 are covered by black bars, two of them in the line “Reminder: ▮ ▮ in NY and to stay in Apt Dec. 8-11”; nothing barred is supplied. This is a plan circulated on the morning of 5 December and not a record of what happened, and the Sunday block contradicts itself: beneath the heading “Sun. Dec. 7, 2014 PB” it prints “TBD Depart PB / TBD Arrive San Francisco”, and the Monday block then departs Palm Beach again. An earlier version of the same schedule routes those days differently, and still not to the island. Circulated on 1 December, it leaves the destination after the breakfast open between three — “Fri. Dec. 5, 2014 NY-ZORRO, LSJ or PB?” — and then heads the two days “Sat. Dec. 6, 2014 ZORRO” and “Sun. Dec. 7, 2014 ZORRO”, the New Mexico ranch, carrying the same Musk reminder beneath a Saturday on which Epstein planned to be in New Mexico: EFTA00357693 p.3, Subject: Schedule, Date: Mon, 01 Dec 2014 22:00:11 +0000, read at the image at 400 dpi for the same pass; the render was deleted. Three values on that sheet are covered by black bars and none is supplied. A twin is at EFTA01002121 p.3, and the version of 2 December, EFTA00357429 p.3, has already settled on “Sat Dec. 6, 2014 PB” and “Mon. Dec. 8, 2014 PB-LSJ”; both UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, each a run of 5 sheets. No version of this schedule read for this page reaches LSJ before Monday 8 December.

  45. E-mail, "jeffrey E." <[email protected]> to Reid Hoffman, no subject on the sheet, Date: Sun, 07 Dec 2014 12:43:36 +0000. EFTA01002585 p.1. Read at the image at 400 dpi for the fix pass of 2026-09-13; the render was deleted. The quoted line is the whole of the body and is reproduced with its printed spacing. His address is covered by a black bar, the only one on the sheet. A copy is at EFTA02596745 p.1, and his answer of the following day, “creative guy. / bing gordon.”, is at EFTA00692018 p.1, which quotes this message under Sent: Sunday, December 07, 2014 4:43 AM. The two sheets do not stamp on the same clock — one a Date: value in UTC, the other a quoting client’s Sent: line carrying no zone — and nothing here is converted; both print the day as Sunday 7 December. His own message of a month earlier, “SV as usual, although heading to China soon. Just about to sit down with Joi for breakfast, so we’ll chat about intellectual topics for visit. :)”, is EFTA00868798 p.1, Date: Fri, 07 Nov 2014 16:35:36 +0000, also read at the image at 400 dpi for the fix pass of 2026-09-13, where the closing mark prints ”:)” and the extraction of that copy renders it “:1”; only the first sentence is quoted in the body. His address is barred on that sheet too. Copies at EFTA00868800 p.1 and EFTA02517319 p.1. The sheets not named as read at the image are UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. Each run in this footnote is 1 sheet except EFTA00868800, which is 2.

  46. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to Jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]>, copy to Joi Ito, Subject “RE: When do you arrive? :)”, Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2014 22:34:28 +0000, carrying four earlier messages of that day, the quoted passage being his own of 11:08–11:33 AM and Epstein’s answer. EFTA00649442 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. His mobile number stands on the top-level sheet and is not reproduced. A second copy is at EFTA01931835 p.1. The run is 2 sheets.

  47. E-mail, “jeffrey E.” to Reid Hoffman, Subject “Re:”, Date: Sun, 11 Mar 2018 23:27:09 +0000, body “ok, im in”, quoting Hoffman’s message of Fri 9 March 2018 2:28 AM: “Seeing Bill for two days next week. … Scheduling… know that you think that crazy, but 3/24 (sat) 10:15am PT for 60-90 min? (It’s just after my next catch up with Joi.) / That work? / BTW: you going to TED this year?” EFTA00470148 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The office schedule for that Saturday records “Sat. March 24, 2018 NY … 1-2:00pm EST (10-11:00am Pacific Time)- Reid Hoffman / Reid’s Skype ID:” over a black bar: EFTA00471028 p.2, UNVERIFIED, from the text layer.

  48. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to “Joi Ito; Kevin Slavin”, copy to “Epstein Jeffrey”, Subject “RE: Skype about deception”, Sent: Monday, August 26, 2013 3:27 PM, carrying his own message of 8:24 AM and Ito’s of 25 August 10:20 PM. EFTA01801759 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which is heavily quoted-printable-damaged; the quotations above are given as repaired and are corroborated by the second copy at EFTA02574119 p.1. Each run is 1 sheet.

  49. Schedule sheet covering Friday 6 September 2013. EFTA00384352 p.3. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which renders the name as “Reid Hoffinan”. The three contact lines are followed by black bars.

  52. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to “jeffrey E.”, Subject “Re: Visit at MIT/Meet and talk about AI”, Sent: Thursday, April 21, 2016 10:43 PM, carrying Epstein’s forward of 2:57 PM with its covering line and Joscha Bach’s message beneath. EFTA02466748 p.1. The onward exchange, Epstein’s “come visit me in paris. before or after cool” and Hoffman’s “will figure out a visit! probably 6/16 or 6/17: either work?”, is at EFTA01783048 p.1, Sent: Thursday, April 21, 2016 10:49 PM. Both UNVERIFIED, from the text layer; both extractions render “AI” as “Al” in the subject line and the quotation gives the letters as the sense requires.

  53. E-mail, Reid Hoffman to “Joi Ito; Jeffrey Epstein”, Subject “Re: Security”, Sent: Saturday, July 2, 2016 8:43 PM, body “+1, fwiw!”, carrying Ito’s message of 11:37:56 AM. EFTA01784708 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which carries quoted-printable damage at three points inside Ito’s message; it is given as repaired. The run is 1 sheet.

  54. E-mail, “jeffrey E.” to a barred recipient, Subject “Re: We have a deal”, Sent: Wed 5/7/2014 6:33:30 PM, body “I’m in”, quoting a message signed “Austin” of the same day. EFTA01925754 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which renders the name as “Reid Hoffinan”; the quotation gives it in its ordinary spelling. The quoted message does not name the company. The run is 1 sheet.

EFTA01916358 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which renders the sender value as “Reid Ho”. Hill’s message is separately at EFTA01852024 p.1 and EFTA01915718 p.1; Epstein’s “as you know i dont trst austin”, written to Ito alone at 9:10:17 PM, is at EFTA01915883 p.1. Each run is 1 sheet.

  56. E-mail, Joi Ito to Austin Hill, copies to Jeffrey Epstein and Reid Hoffman, Subject “Re: Stellar isn’t so Stellar”, Sent: Saturday, August 2, 2014 2:01:48 PM. EFTA01748990 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The run is 1 sheet.

  57. Newsletter, Reid Hoffman to “Jeffrey Epstein”, Subject “ICYMI”, Sent: Thursday, February 5, 2015 11:02 PM. EFTA02709756 p.2. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which carries heavy quoted-printable damage; the post’s title is given as repaired and the tracking URLs are not reproduced. EFTA00906330 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The run is 1 sheet.

  59. E-mail, “Joi ito” to Jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]>, Subject “Fund docs”, Date: Wed, 07 Feb 2018 02:20:09 +0000, three attachments named in the header. EFTA00895408 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. The sender’s address is covered by a black bar; Epstein’s is printed. The image prints the subject as “Fund docs” and the body as “These are the fund docs”; the extraction renders both as “does”. The body is exactly the four lines quoted. The run is 1 sheet. The limited partnership agreement itself, “Draft dated February 6, 2018”, is at EFTA00805930, UNVERIFIED, from the text layer; its execution page carries no signature.

  63. The body of the same invitation, carrying the salutation, the nomination line over a black bar, the named collaborating institutions and the summit dates. EFTA01004030 p.2. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer.

  64. E-mail forwarding to Jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]> a message “From: Reid Hoffman” of “August 3, 2018 at 5:48” PM addressed “To: [email protected]”, Subject “Fwd: Private invitation to BrainMind”, Date: Sat, 04 Aug 2018 00:51:20 +0000. EFTA01004030 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer; the extraction damages the forwarded subject line and the timestamp’s seconds and zone, neither of which is quoted. The header and the nine-name signature block are on this sheet. The run is 3 sheets.

  65. E-mail, J <[email protected]> to Reid Hoffman, Subject “Re: BrainMind Summit at MIT. Save the Date.”, Date: Wed, 06 Feb 2019 18:59:43 +0000. EFTA01029072 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. Epstein’s reply is the whole of the top-level body and is reproduced with its printed spacing. Hoffman’s address is covered by a black bar in both the header and the quoted attribution line. The signature block below carries “Reid Hoffman / Chair, BrainMind Advisory Board; Co-Founder, LinkedIn; Managing Partner, Greylock Partners”. The run is 2 sheets.

  66. E-mail, [email protected] to Reid Hoffman, Sent: Monday, March 4, 2019 11:35 PM, whose body is a single New York Times opinion URL. EFTA02631848 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer, which renders the URL twice with different damage; the form given in the body is the one the two renderings agree on. The run is 1 sheet.

  67. Google Calendar notification, [email protected], Sent: Saturday, March 16, 2019 12:50 PM, Subject “Notification: reid hoffman @ Sat Mar 16, 2019 9am - 10am (EDT) ([email protected])”. EFTA02634674 p.1. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer; the event URL and token are not reproduced. A second copy is at EFTA02637326 p.1. The run is 1 sheet.

  68. Theodore Schleifer, “A new MIT report on Jeffrey Epstein raises questions about how much to blame billionaires like Bill Gates”, Recode, January 10, 2020, reproduced in the Southern District of New York daily news clips of January 13, 2020. EFTA00105365 p.5. UNVERIFIED, from the text layer. The article begins at the foot of printed page 3 of that run and the passage quoted here is on printed page 5, so a search for the headline resolves to the earlier sheet. The sheet prints a comma after “regretful”, inside the reporter’s own sentence; the quotation here stops at the word and the sentence’s full stop stands outside the marks. The same article is at EFTA00105378 p.6. This is the source already cited for the same quotation on MIT Media Lab and Joi Ito, and the wording here follows theirs.

  69. The rest of the same exchange. EFTA02846680 p.183. Read at the image at 250 dpi. The sheet is a one-printed-page-to-a-sheet transcript with line numbers in the left margin, and the exchange runs from line 1 to line 21. The question mark after “Reid Hoffman” at line 15 is printed on the image and is lost in this copy’s extraction. The quotation in the body is given in continuous prose; on the sheet each speech is broken across the numbered lines, so no quoted span on this page is contiguous in the text layer. The page stamp at the foot is EFTA02846862. The proceeding itself is set out at The 2025 Justice Department examination of Ghislaine Maxwell.
