Eileen Alexanderson
⚠ what this page is about, and what it is not
Eileen Alexanderson administered the bank accounts of Leon D. Black’s partnership, trusts and household, first from Apollo Management and later from Elysium Management LLC, Black’s family office. She is the person whose name stands in the From line of the instructions that moved the money, including the instruction that sent $15,000,000 to Jeffrey Epstein’s Virgin Islands company on 29 April 2014. This page records what she wrote, what was written to her, and what other people wrote about her authority. She appears nowhere in the litigation or investigative record in this release: her surname returns nothing alongside “deposition” or “subpoena” in the material reviewed for this page. No allegation against her was found in that material and none is made here. No telephone number, fax number or e-mail address of hers is reproduced, and no bank account number from any document cited here is reproduced, on this page or anywhere in its apparatus.

Eileen Alexanderson was the person at Leon Black’s end of a telephone or a keyboard when money had to move. Between 2009 and 2015 her name stands at the head of the sender field on more than a thousand documents in this release, and the ones that matter are four lines long: a sum, an account it comes out of, an account it goes into, and “Thank you.” Two of them are the reason this page exists. On 3 October 2012 she issued the instructions that gathered $67,067,000 out of four Black family vehicles into a single limited liability company, which converted almost all of it into £41,000,000 the same day, for what the file’s own summary sheet calls the “Phaidon investment.”197 On 29 April 2014 she instructed the transfer of $15,000,000 from Leon and Debra Black’s account to Southern Trust Company, Inc., Jeffrey Epstein’s U.S. Virgin Islands company.2
The second of those is the point at which an administrative record becomes a record of the relationship this wiki exists to document. Apollo Global Management’s board commissioned Dechert LLP to review Black’s dealings with Epstein, and the resulting report puts the total paid at $158 million for work performed between 2012 and 2017; a Deutsche Bank transaction chart lists the individual transfers, and the payment of 29 April 2014 is one of its rows.10 The chart shows that the money moved. The documents on this page show who typed the instruction.
Identification, and where she sits
Her own sign-off block does the identification, and it changes once. On the October 2012 instructions the block gives her name, then “Black Family Partners, L.P.”, then “c/o Apollo Management”, then the firm’s address at 9 West 57th Street, New York, then a telephone line and an e-mail line.1 By 13 November 2014 the block gives her name, then “Elysium Management”, then 445 Park Avenue, Suite 1401, New York.2 Elysium Management LLC is Black’s family office; Richard Joslin signed as its chief financial officer from the autumn of 2013, and Melanie Spinella was Black’s executive assistant at Apollo across the same years. No document read for this page gives Alexanderson a job title of her own. The pages on this wiki that already name her take no view on her role, and this one does not supply one either; what the documents establish is the function, which is set out below.
The bank supplies a second identification that does not depend on a signature block. A Bank of America wire advice of 3 October 2012 for the Black Family 1997 Trust is addressed “BLACK FAMILY 1997 TRUST / C/O APOLLO ADVISORS / ATTN: EILEEN ALEXANDERSON / 9 W 57TH ST FL 41”.3 She was the addressee of record for the trust’s bank correspondence, which is a different and stronger fact than being a sender in somebody else’s mailbox.
⚠ She is not Stephen Alexander. That page carries a census of the
token alexanders and expressly puts her outside itself; the three hits a coverage check returns
there are its own disambiguation, not material about her.11
The name forms, and what the base form misses
| form queried | documents | outside the base phrase |
|---|---|---|
"Eileen Alexanderson" (base phrase) | 5,334 | — |
"Alexanderson" (bare surname) | 5,362 | 28 |
| union of the surname with 46 damaged forms | 5,591 | 257 |
The base phrase is a proper subset of the bare surname here: every document carrying the phrase
also carries the token, and the surname adds 28. That is the opposite of the pattern this desk has met
on other subjects, where the two forms were mutually exclusive, and it was measured rather than
assumed.5 The damaged forms add a further 229 documents on top of the surname, the largest
single contributor being the truncation alexanderso, which reaches 105 documents no other form
reaches.5 The floor is 5,591 documents. It is a floor and not a total: the enumeration
covered tokens within Damerau-Levenshtein distance 2 of alexanderson over a length window of 10 to
15 characters, and a form outside that window would not have been seen.5
⚠ "Alexandersen" returns 1 document and "Alexanders on" returns 1. Neither is a productive
variant and neither was pursued.5
3 October 2012: sixty-seven million dollars in one morning
The file is a seventeen-sheet compilation and it exists in three copies in the release.12 ⚠ It is not a homogeneous run. Sheet 1 is a typed planning worksheet, sheet 2 a typed summary carrying handwritten annotations, sheets 3 to 5 and 7 and 9 are printed e-mails, sheets 6 and 10 to 12 are Bank of America wire advices, sheet 8 is a Morgan Clearing Corp. notification, sheets 13 to 16 are four copies of one promissory note, and sheet 17 is a bank statement. Page ranges are cited below rather than the bare identifier.13
The plan. Sheet 1 is an untitled four-row table with the column heads “$Amt” and “Source of funds”. It lists the Black 2006 Family Trust at $33 million, sourced to a September distribution from the Apollo Credit Opportunity Fund, accumulated dividends on Apollo Investment Corporation shares and “internal borrowing from Black Family Partners”; the Black Family 1997 Trust at $21 million, sourced to “cash from recent sale of art” and the liquidation of an equity account; the Black Family 1997 GST Exempt Trust at $3 million, “Cash held since trust was created”; and LDB 2011 LLC at $10 million, “Free Cash held in trust”. The total line reads $67 million.14
The instructions. Between 11:28 a.m. and 1:27 p.m. on Wednesday 3 October 2012 Alexanderson sent five messages. Four went to Nicholas Desousa, copied to Joann Perrone, under the subject “funds transfer request”; the fifth went to Harry Rim, copied to Mike Nolan, under the subject “wire transfer request”. Each is her own composed text over her own signature block, not a forward and not a machine notice. Each names a sum, a source account and a destination account and closes “Thank you.”1 The account numbers printed on those sheets are not reproduced here. The sums and the direction are:
| time (no zone on the sheet) | amount | from | to |
|---|---|---|---|
| 11:28 a.m. | $10,000,000 | LDB 2011 LLC | PLB LLC15 |
| 11:41 a.m. | $3,000,000 | Black Family 1997 GST Exempt Trust | PLB LLC |
| 11:54 a.m. | $67,000 | Leon & Debra Black | PLB LLC |
| 1:21 p.m. | $33,000,000 | Black Family Partners | Black Family 1997 Trust |
| 1:27 p.m. | $54,000,000 | Black Family 1997 Trust | PLB LLC |
⚠ The clock times carry no time zone on any of these sheets and none is asserted here.
The instruction that went out before the signature existed. The 11:28 a.m. wire request to Harry Rim closes “Signed copy to follow / Thank you.”15 Two minutes later, at 11:30 a.m., Alexanderson forwarded the whole of it to Barry J. Cohen, a trustee of the Black Family 1997 Trust, under the subject “signature needed”, above the single line “Please sign and scan to”, whose destination the production covers.15 The copy in the release carries an ink mark written across the instruction block. The sheet does not say who made that mark, and no signature rule appears on it, so this page does not attribute it.15
What happened. PLB LLC’s account statement for the period opening that day records four credits on 3 October: $54,000,000, $10,000,000, $3,000,000 and $67,000, with the originating entities named on each line. They total $67,067,000. Against them the statement records one debit the same day of $66,001,800.00, described as a foreign exchange purchase of 41,000,000.00 GBP at 1.6098, and a closing daily ledger balance for 3 October of $1,065,200.00.7 The arithmetic closes to the cent in both directions: 41,000,000 multiplied by 1.6098 is 66,001,800, and 67,067,000 less 66,001,800 is 1,065,200. Two further sterling purchases follow on 5 and 29 October, of £205,000 and £150,862.7
What it was for. Sheet 2, a typed summary of the same movements, is headed “Summary of money transfers in advance of Phaidon investment:”.9 Two of the instruction sheets carry a handwritten annotation in the right margin: on the $33,000,000 sheet, three lines reading “loan for / Phaidon / investment”, and on the $54,000,000 sheet, “Investment - Phaidon”.1 The hand is not identified on the sheets. The release supplies the connection in Epstein’s own words: in April 2013 he wrote “Leon black owns phaidon , he is doing food books”, quoted on Nathan Myhrvold, and a Black tax matrix of March 2016 lists “Phaidon LLC” among Black’s entities, noted on offshore financial structures.16 Nothing cited here states the identity of the seller, the price, the structure of the purchase or the role of PLB LLC beyond what the sheets themselves print, and none of that is inferred.
⚠ The plan and the execution do not line up on one row, and this page does not resolve it. The worksheet attributes $33 million to the Black 2006 Family Trust with “internal borrowing from Black Family Partners” named as part of its source; the executed wire of 1:21 p.m., and the promissory note dated as of the same day, run instead from Black Family Partners to the Black Family 1997 Trust.14117 What the two do agree on is the total, and on the 1997 Trust’s own outward figure: $21 million of its own money plus the $33 million it borrowed is the $54 million it sent on.141
The note. Four copies of one promissory note sit in the same run, each for $33,000,000, each reciting that the trustees of the Black Family 1997 Trust promise to pay Black Family Partners the principal “plus interest accruing at the fixed rate of 3.0%, compounded annually”, due the day before the fifth anniversary, and each dated “as of October 3, 2012”.17 The named trustees are Debra R. Black, Barry J. Cohen, John J. Hannan and Richard Ressler.17 ⚠ The copies differ in which of the four signature lines bear a mark, and this page does not state that any particular trustee signed. The text layer of these sheets is not capable of showing ink, and the four copies were compared at the text layer only.17
April to October 2014: the wires to Southern Trust Company
A seven-sheet compilation printed from the mailbox of Richard D’Agostino collects Alexanderson’s transfer instructions in reverse date order from April to November 2014.2 Two of them are the reason this section exists.
29 April 2014, 4:30 p.m. To Mayra Johnson, copied to Richard D’Agostino and to an internal “accounting” address, subject “wire transfer request”. Her own composed text, four lines long:
“Please transfer $15,000,000 from the Leon and Debra Black account [account reference not reproduced here] as follows:”
Beneath it a four-line block gives the bank as Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas and the account name as Southern Trust Company, Inc., with a routing line and an account line that are not reproduced here. The message closes “Thank you.”2 Southern Trust Company, Inc. was Jeffrey Epstein’s U.S. Virgin Islands company, and the Deutsche Bank chart of Black-affiliated transfers records a payment of $15,000,000 from “Leon and Debra Black” to Southern Trust Company, Inc. dated 29 April 2014.10 See Southern Trust Company.
15 October 2014. This one is a forward and the distinction matters. At 3:34 p.m. Richard D’Agostino wrote to Alexanderson under the subject “Wire Transfer Request”: “Please wire $13,000,000 from Black Family Partners [LP] Acct [number covered on the sheet] as follows:”, with a block naming Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas and Southern Trust Company as the account name. Two minutes later, at 3:36 p.m., Alexanderson forwarded that text unchanged to Joann Perrone and Mayra Johnson at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, copying D’Agostino and accounting.18 A parallel instruction for $7,000,000 from the Leon & Debra Black account to the same destination went out the same afternoon; the hour digit of its sent-time is destroyed on the sheet, leaving the minutes and the meridiem, so no clock hour is asserted for it here.18 The words in those two messages are D’Agostino’s. The act of putting them in front of the bank is hers.
What followed is on the same sheets. At 5:14 p.m. Joann Perrone replied to Alexanderson with a CHIPS reference; at 5:14 p.m. Alexanderson forwarded that reply to Richard Kahn of HBRK Associates Inc.; at 5:16 p.m. Kahn, who worked on Epstein’s accounts through HBRK Associates, asked Vahe Stepanian, an associate in Deutsche Bank’s Key Client Partners group, to “please confirm receipt of 13mm =nd 7mm” (the =, here and below, is on the sheet); and at 5:32 p.m. Stepanian answered.18 At 9:41 p.m. Kahn forwarded the whole thread to Epstein.18
“attached are fed wire instructions from eileen along =ith fed ref numbers showing that wires went out
13mm =rom Black Family Partners to STC 7mm from Leon and Debra =lack to STC
vahe at DB says they see the 13mm =owever sender did not properly send info (probably Bank of America and =ot Eileen or Rich as info below looks correct) still waiting =n 7mm confirmation
i will keep you =pdated”18
⚠ The = characters are on the sheet. The message was printed from a quoted-printable source and
the damage is in the document, not in this desk’s extraction; it was read at the image at 700 dpi and
is reproduced as printed.18 Stepanian’s message, on the same sheet and with the same damage,
reads that the banking team “told” him “the $13mm came in, but the incoming instructions =idn’t
include the full account name and number”, that Deutsche Bank had asked Bank of America for the
information and that “if BofA doesn’t respond, we will have to =ick back the funds”, and that “We have
not yet received the =7mm.”18
Three things sit in that thread. Epstein’s own accountant treats Alexanderson by forename as one of the two people who could have got the wire wrong, and clears her by name in a message to Epstein. The Deutsche Bank chart dates both payments 16 October 2014, the day after the instructions went out and after the bank had told Kahn that one of the two had not arrived, which is consistent with the chart recording a credit date rather than an instruction date.1018 And the money is moving to Epstein’s company on the instruction of the person who ran Black’s accounts, with Epstein’s accountant and Black’s controller watching the wire in real time.
The rest of the 2014 file
The same compilation carries four further instructions in her own words, all to Joann Perrone and Mayra Johnson at U.S. Trust and all copied to an internal accounting address: $40,000,000 out of Black Family Partners on 2 September 2014, split across seven named recipient accounts (four APO1 GRATs, an “APO2 Declaration”, the Leon & Debra Black account and LDB 2014 LLC), whose seven amounts sum exactly to the $40,000,000 instructed; $5,000,000 between two Black household accounts on 29 September; $2,000,000 and $600,000 on 21 October; and $5,000,000 on 13 November.2 One earlier sheet in the same file is a wire of $9,998.11 to ArtBinder, Inc. at First Republic Bank on 9 May 2014, referenced to Black Family Partners.2 The recipient account numbers printed on those sheets are not reproduced here.
What other people wrote about her authority
Two documents already on this wiki put words about Alexanderson in other people’s mouths, and both are cited here rather than restated.
On 14 November 2014 Heather Gray of Elysium Management wrote to Epstein: “I’ve been asked by Eileen to tell Melanie that payment for all art purchases … should be handled by the family office.” The sentence is set out in full, with its context, on Melanie Spinella’s page, which also records that the message describes Spinella as paying for Black’s personal art purchases out of his bank accounts under a power of attorney.19 The instruction in that sentence is attributed to Alexanderson by Gray, not written by Alexanderson, and no document read for this page carries her own text of it.
On 30 September 2013 Richard Joslin sent his signed offer letter to Alexanderson, and she forwarded it to Epstein the same evening; Richard Joslin’s page records that sequence and the ledger line, marked “(Spinella POA)”, by which Joslin later tied an art purchase to a particular account.20 That ledger material belongs to his page and is not restated here.
Elsewhere on this wiki
- 10 December 2013, the video link. Alexanderson forwarded Epstein a message she had sent the same day arranging video conference capability between his Virgin Islands base and “445 Park Ave”, describing him to its recipient as “a friend of Leon’s who has been advising us”. The message is quoted whole on Black Family Partners.21 445 Park Avenue is the address on her own Elysium Management sign-off eleven months later.2
- 14 December 2012, the children’s trusts. A chain about the use of gift and generation-skipping transfer tax exemptions by Black’s four children reached Epstein from Alexanderson, who asked him “Are you good with this as a plan?”. The exchange is set out on Melanie Spinella’s page.22
- 1 and 2 April 2013, the will and the revocable trust. Ada Clapp wrote to Epstein and to Alexanderson about three items Black wanted kept out of a discussion of a new will and revocable trust; the messages are on Black Family Partners.21
What is not established
- Her job title. No document read for this page states one. The function is documented; the title is not.
- Whether she had signing authority of her own. The October 2012 file shows her sending a wire instruction and then asking a trustee for a signature, which is evidence that at least some instructions needed someone else’s hand. No power of attorney, signature card or banking resolution naming her is in the material reviewed for this page.
- What Southern Trust Company did for the money. Nothing on this page bears on that, and the question belongs to Southern Trust Company and Leon Black.
- The Phaidon transaction itself. The sheets name the purpose and the sums. They do not name a seller, a price, a share class or a counterparty, and the release was not searched exhaustively for those; the claim here is scoped to the file cited.
- Whether she and Epstein ever met. Her name appears in an Epstein office day sheet for 24 April 2014 as a 3:00 p.m. appointment with Ada Clapp and Rich Joslin, quoted on Roger Schank’s page. That sheet was written before the day it describes, and no document read for this page records the meeting taking place.23

Sheets p. 3 ($33,000,000, 1:21 p.m., to ‘Desousa, Nicholas’, copied to ‘Perrone, Joann’), p. 4 ($54,000,000, 1:27 p.m., same recipients), p. 5 ($3,000,000, 11:41 a.m., same recipients) and p. 9 ($67,000, 11:54 a.m., same recipients) carry the subject “funds transfer request”; p. 7 carries the 11:28 a.m. “wire transfer request” described at 15. Each sheet’s body is four lines and each closes “Thank you.” The account numbers printed in those lines are not reproduced anywhere on this page. Each sheet carries her printed sign-off block; the block is a stacked address block and is described rather than quoted here, because a two-column or stacked block is not reliably contiguous in the rendered text. The telephone and e-mail lines within it are not reproduced. ⚠ The text layer of p. 4 renders the name in that block as “Eileen Alexander”; the sheet reads “Eileen Alexanderson”. p. 3 carries a handwritten marginal note of three lines read at 700 dpi as “loan for / Phaidon / investment”, and p. 4 carries a handwritten “Investment - Phaidon”; the hand is not identified on either sheet. The bank’s own addressing. EFTA00589888 p. 12 is addressed “BLACK FAMILY 1997 TRUST” over “C/O APOLLO ADVISORS” and “ATTN: EILEEN ALEXANDERSON”. It is a Bank of America wire transfer advice dated 10/03/12 for the Black Family 1997 Trust; the address block continues “9 W 57TH ST FL 41 / NEW YORK NY 10019-2701”. Text layer only; this sheet was not rendered for this page. The address block is short and contiguous in the extraction, which is why it is quoted; the companion advices at pp. 6, 10 and 11 of the same run are addressed to the trustees, to Leon D Black and Debra Black, and to Black Family Partners respectively, and were read at the text layer only. ↩ ↩2

"Eileen Alexanderson"5,334 documents;"Alexanderson"5,362; the base phrase is a proper subset of the surname (base minus surname = 0, surname minus base = 28). A Damerau-Levenshtein sweep at distance ≤2 overfts5vocabtokens beginning witha, length window 10 to 15 characters (target length 12, minus 2 to plus 3), returned 48 candidate tokens; the union of the surname with those tokens reaches 5,591 documents, 257 of them outside the base phrase. The largest contributors outside the surname arealexanderso(190 documents, 105 of them outside),alexanders(37, 35 outside, and see 11),alexandersson(25, all outside, and a different Swedish surname rather than a damaged form of hers),alexandersoni(16, 10 outside) andalexandersont(9, 7 outside)."Alexandersen"returns 1 document;"Alexanders on"returns 1. This is a floor and not a total: a variant outside the stated length window, or at distance 3 or more, would not have been enumerated. ⚠ The desk’s tokeniser is plainunicode61, so"Surname, Forename"and"Surname Forename"are one query and are not reported here as two corroborating forms. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4 ↩5 -
Act rate, run with the desk’s own
act_rate.pyover the whole surname population of 5,362 documents, 21 September 2026. Sender-field act 1,406 (26.2%); addressed only 2,532; header-less and authored 41; header-less press 5; neither 1,259; parser refused 119. Against the 3,938 documents in which a sender was parsed at all (1,406 + 2,532) the rate is 35.7%. Both figures are floors because the 119 declined documents are unread, not non-acts. ⚠ A high act rate tells you she wrote, not that what she wrote matters; the documents this page rests on were read individually. ↩ -
The account statement. EFTA00589888 p. 17 carries the debit line “Fxx2C9Q8Dr41000000.00 GBP @ 1.6098 On20121003” and the heading “Daily Ledger Balances”. Read at the image at 700 dpi. A statement page for PLB LLC, “Page 2 of 3”, statement period 3 October to 31 October 2012. Deposits and Credits, all posted 10/03: $54,000,000.00 originated by Black Family 1997 Trust; $10,000,000.00 originated by LDB 2011 LLC through JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA; $3,000,000.00 originated by Black Family 1997 GST Exempt Trust; $67,000.00 originated by Leon D Black. Other Debits: 10/03, $66,001,800.00, “Fxx2C9Q8Dr41000000.00 GBP @ 1.6098 On20121003”; 10/05, $332,510.00, 205,000.00 GBP at 1.622; 10/29, $242,812.39, 150,862.00 GBP at 1.6095. Daily Ledger Balances: 10/03 $1,065,200.00; 10/05 $732,690.00; 10/29 $489,877.61. The originating account identifiers printed on each line are not reproduced here. The two arithmetic checks stated in the body were done on these figures: 41,000,000 x 1.6098 = 66,001,800, and 67,067,000 - 66,001,800 = 1,065,200. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4 ↩5

Absence, scoped to the material reviewed for this page. The surname alongside “deposition” and alongside “subpoena” returned nothing in the searches run for this page, and no document read for this page places her in a deposition, a filing or an investigative interview. This is a statement about the searches run here, not a claim about the whole release. ↩

The summary sheet. EFTA00589888 p. 2 is headed “Summary of money transfers in advance of Phaidon investment:”. Read at the image at 700 dpi. Nine typed lines follow it, listing the movements by amount, entity and abbreviated account reference; the account references are not reproduced here. An arrow runs from the line recording $67,000 transferred “for 0.001% interest in PLB” to a handwritten note of four short lines in the right margin. Only its opening, which reads “should have gone through”, and its closing, which reads “need to correct”, could be read with confidence at 700 dpi; the entity named in the middle could not, and no reading of it is offered. ↩ ↩2

The Deutsche Bank chart. The transfers recorded by Deutsche Bank, including “4/29/2014 | Leon and Debra Black | Southern Trust Company, Inc. | $15,000,000”, “10/16/2014 | Leon and Debra Black | Southern Trust Company, Inc. | $7,000,000” and “10/16/2014 | Black Family Partners, LP c/o Apollo Management | Southern Trust Company, Inc. | $13,000,000”, are set out in full with their source on Leon Black, which also carries the Dechert LLP figure of $158 million for work performed 2012 through 2017. That page’s citations are not restated here and were not re-derived for this page. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4

The
alexanderscollision. Stephen Alexander’s page carries a hand-read census of all 37 documents returned by the tokenalexandersand assigns two of them to Eileen Alexanderson, placing her expressly outside that page. The three name hits a coverage check reports on that page are that census and its surrounding sentence, not material about her. ↩ ↩2 -
Three copies. EFTA00589888, EFTA00589905 and EFTA02696498 each hold the same seventeen-sheet run. The first two have identical extracted lengths (13,252 characters each) and the third is longer (13,902), which is an OCR difference and not a difference of content on the sheets compared. Only EFTA00589888 was rendered for this page. ↩ ↩2
-
The run is mixed. Before citing it, the length, the first sheet and the homogeneity of EFTA00589888 were established: 17 sheets; p. 1 is a typed planning worksheet, not a covering document; and the run holds at least six different document types, listed in the body. Page ranges are cited throughout rather than the bare identifier. ↩

The planning worksheet. EFTA00589888 p. 1 carries the column head “Source of funds” and the entries “cash from recent sale of art”, “Cash held since trust was created” and “Free Cash held in trust”. Read at the image at 700 dpi. ⚠ The text layer of this sheet is column-shuffled: it gives the entity names, the total line and the two column heads before any figure, so the rows cannot be paired by position in the extraction. The image gives four rows in this order: Black 2006 Family Trust / $33mil; Black Family 1997 Trust / $21mil; Black Family 1997 GST Exempt Trust / $3mil; LDB 2011 LLC / $10mil; then TOTAL / $67mil. The “Source of funds” column reads as quoted in the body. The sheet carries no date, no addressee and no signature. ↩ ↩2 ↩3

The wire request sent before the signature. EFTA00589888 p. 7 carries the subject “signature needed”, the line “Please sign and scan to” and, beneath it, “Signed copy to follow”. Read at the image at 700 dpi. The sheet is headed “Barry J. Cohen” and carries two messages. The upper one is from Eileen Alexanderson to Barry J. Cohen, sent 11:30 a.m., subject “signature needed”, whose whole body is “Please sign and scan to” followed by a covered destination. The lower one is her message of 11:28 a.m. to ‘Rim, Harry J’, copied to ‘Nolan, Mike’, subject “wire transfer request”, instructing a wire of $10,000,000 from the LDB 2011 LLC account to a named beneficiary account, closing “Signed copy to follow / Thank you.” The bank, the routing line, the account name “PLB LLC” and an account line are set out beneath it in a four-line block; the routing and account values are not reproduced here. An ink mark is written across the middle of the sheet, over the instruction block. There is no signature rule on the sheet and it does not name who made the mark, so no signature is attributed. A Morgan Clearing Corp. wire notification dated 4 October 2012 at p. 8 of the same run confirms a $10,000,000 transfer made on 3 October “in accordance with your instructions”. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4 ↩5 ↩6

Phaidon elsewhere in the release. Epstein’s line “Leon black owns phaidon , he is doing food books” is quoted, with its own citation and with a note that the extraction gives “hooks” for “books”, on Nathan Myhrvold; the two-page “TAX MATRIX / DRAFT 3/30/2016” listing “Phaidon LLC” among Leon Black’s entities is noted on offshore financial structures. Neither was re-derived for this page, and neither is cited here as evidence of what the October 2012 money bought, only of the name’s connection to Black. ↩

The promissory note. EFTA00589888 p. 13 reads “plus interest accruing at the fixed rate of 3.0%, compounded annually” and is dated “as of October 3, 2012”; the same instrument is repeated at pp. 14, 15 and 16, four copies in all. Text layer only; not rendered for this page. Each of the four recites that “the undersigned, DEBRA R. BLACK, BARRY J. COHEN, JOHN J. HANNAN and RICHARD RESSLER, in their capacities as trustees of the BLACK FAMILY 1997 TRUST, promise to pay to BLACK FAMILY PARTNERS” the sum of $33,000,000 “plus interest accruing at the fixed rate of 3.0%, compounded annually”, payable “on the day before the fifth (5th) anniversary of the date hereof, or on such earlier date as the loan is repaid completely”, and each is dated “as of October 3, 2012”. ⚠ A text layer cannot show ink. The four extractions differ in how the four signature lines render, and no conclusion is drawn here about which trustees signed which copy; that question needs the image and these sheets were not opened. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4

The thread of 15 October 2014, as Richard Kahn forwarded it to Epstein. EFTA02680328 p. 1 reads “attached are fed wire instructions from eileen along =ith fed ref numbers showing that wires went out” and, lower down, “probably Bank of America and =ot Eileen or Rich as info below looks correct”; p. 2 carries “please confirm receipt of 13mm =nd 7mm”. The run is 6 sheets. pp. 1, 2, 4 and 6 read at the image at 700 dpi; pp. 3 and 5 at the text layer only. p. 1 is Kahn’s message to “jeffrey E.” of 9:41 p.m., quoted in the body, over his HBRK Associates Inc. sign-off, with Vahe Stepanian’s message of 5:32:04 p.m. EDT beneath it. p. 2, read at the image, gives Stepanian’s block, “Associate | Key Client Partners, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc”, and Kahn’s 5:16 p.m. request “please confirm receipt of 13mm =nd 7mm”. pp. 3 to 5 carry Joann Perrone’s replies of 5:14 p.m., her block giving her as “Senior Vice President, U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management”, and Alexanderson’s two forwards to Kahn, one timed 5:14:45 p.m. EDT and the other two seconds earlier by its own stamp, whose hour digit is destroyed on the sheet. p. 6 is Alexanderson’s 3:36 p.m. forward to “Perrone, Joann; Johnson, Mayra”, copied to “Richard D’Agostino; accounting”, carrying D’Agostino’s own message to her of 3:34 p.m. instructing the $13,000,000 wire; p. 4 carries the parallel $7,000,000 instruction, D’Agostino’s 3:34 p.m. message and her own forward, the hour digit of whose sent-time is destroyed by the same damage, read at the image at 700 dpi. ⚠ The
=substitutions throughout are on the sheets, from a quoted-printable source, and were confirmed at the image on pp. 1, 2, 4 and 6; quotations reproduce them. The routing and account values in the instruction blocks are covered on the sheet or are not reproduced here. ⚠ Attribution: the wire instruction text is D’Agostino’s; Alexanderson’s act on these sheets is the forward to the bank and the forward of the bank’s reply to Kahn. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4 ↩5 ↩6 ↩7 ↩8 ↩9 ↩10 -

The video link and the will messages. The message of 10 December 2013 is quoted whole on Black Family Partners, as are Ada Clapp’s messages of 1 and 2 April 2013 on which Alexanderson is an addressee. Not re-derived for this page. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4

The children’s trusts chain of 14 December 2012. Set out on Melanie Spinella, including Alexanderson’s line “Are you good with this as a plan?”. Not re-derived for this page. ↩ ↩2

The day sheet of 24 April 2014. An Epstein office diary block for Thursday 24 April 2014 listing “3:00pm Appt w/Eileen Alexanderson, Ada Clapp, Rich Joslin” is quoted on Roger Schank, from the sheet cited there. ⚠ A diary entry is evidence of an arrangement, not of attendance, and nothing read for this page records the appointment taking place. ↩ ↩2
