On the evening of September 8, 2014, New Mexico Attorney General and gubernatorial nominee Gary King, his running mate Deb Haaland and three campaign staff flew from Santa Fe to Washington Dulles on a Hawker 800XP chartered by Epstein’s staff through JEGE LLC. The operator’s trip sheet numbers the passengers “1. Gary King”, “2. Deb Haaland”, “3. Scott Tillman”, “4. Chris Khoury” and “5. Kaleigh Hubbard”, and covers none of them.1 The campaign reported paying the operator $22,060.90 on September 5.2

The split, and what it comes to

The message sent at 11:26 am on August 25 proposes a division of the cost, and the documents that follow it execute that division almost exactly. Read as thousands of dollars, “he can pay 11.6” and “two diffent entities 10 4” describe a charter split into about $11,600 from the client and about $10,400 from two companies. The Hawker was quoted sixteen minutes later, at 11:42 am, at $22,060.90.5 The two contributions the campaign recorded on September 1 were $5,200 from JEGE, LLC and $5,200 from Maple, Inc, which is $10,400 exactly.6 And $22,060.90 less $10,400 is $11,660.90.

That is arithmetic on figures cited above and not a new source. It shows that the sum named in the message as the share of “two diffent entities” is the sum of the two contributions that arrived, and that the remainder is the figure the message gives for what the client would pay. It does not establish what any person intended by it, and no document cited here states that the contributions were made in order to meet the charter price.

Aftermath

King said in 2026 that he had not known the aircraft was connected to Epstein and that his staff had told him Bill Richardson was helping arrange a plane; Haaland’s spokesperson said the way the plane was chartered was never communicated to her.910
