Ariane de Rothschild is the person named on the sending side of a run of letter agreements between the Rothschild banking group and Southern Trust Company, Inc., the U.S. Virgin Islands company owned by Jeffrey Epstein, drafted between September and November 2015. She is also one of Epstein’s most frequent correspondents in the released files. The page Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) S.A. sets out two of these instruments, the pair that fix the fee at $10,000,000, and records a payment to Southern Trust of $14,999,980, dated December 21, 2015, for which no instrument is cited there and which nothing cited on this page joins to any of the documents set out below. This page sets out the rest of the run: the versions that preceded the $10,000,000 pair, at a fee of $25,000,000 and with a different counterparty; the instrument dated November 3, 2015 that names her personally at $15,000,000 and is the only one in the run signed in ink; and Southern Trust’s invoice of December 15, 2015 addressed to her.
What follows is what these documents record. An agreement records what its parties agreed, not what was done; an invoice records what was demanded, not what was paid. Nothing on this page is a finding of wrongdoing.
The instruments, in the order they are dated
Fourteen copies of a letter agreement, in six textual versions, are set out below. They are dated between September and November 2015, and every one of them has Southern Trust on one side and a Rothschild party on the other. They differ in who the Rothschild party is, in what the work is said to be, and in the fee.
| dated | Rothschild party as recited | fee stated | identifiers |
|---|---|---|---|
| September __, 2015 (day left blank) | Ariane de Rothschild “on behalf of herself, her family and Edmond de Rothschild Holding, S.A.” | fee left blank, plus a ladder contingent on a Justice Department penalty | EFTA003103311012 |
| October 5, 2015 | Ariane de Rothschild “on behalf of Edmond de Rothschild Holding, S.A.” | $25,000,000 | EFTA00584881, EFTA00584887, EFTA00584898, EFTA00584904, EFTA01071192, EFTA011301151117 |
| October 5, 2015 | the same, with “EDRH Matters” defined as outstanding matters between Edmond de Rothschild Holding and the United States | $25,000,000 | EFTA00584893, EFTA00587465, EFTA01196959217 |
| October 5, 2015 | Ariane de Rothschild “on behalf of Edmond de Rothschild (Geneve) S.A.” | $25,000,000 | EFTA00585615, EFTA01191842317 |
| October 13, 2015 | Ariane de Rothschild “on behalf of Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) S.A.” | $25,000,000 | EFTA012033964 |
| November 3, 2015 | Ariane de Rothschild, in her own name | $15,000,000 | EFTA011251011 |
The two versions that fix the fee at $10,000,000, dated October 5 and October 23, 2015 and running from the bank rather than from her, are set out on Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) S.A. and are not restated here. One of them, dated October 5, 2015 and so bearing the same date as eleven of the copies in the table above, was read at the image for this page to confirm its fee and its addressee.18
September 2015: a draft with the day left blank
The earliest version is a draft. Its date line reads “September”, then an unfilled rule where the day would go, then ”, 2015”; its fee line prints a dollar sign followed by an unfilled rule; and the date by which that fee is payable is a third unfilled rule. All three are blank template rules on the image, not redactions.10
Its address block names Jeffrey Epstein as President of Southern Trust Company, Inc., and it opens “Dear Jeffrey:”. Its recital is the fullest description of the work anywhere in the run: Epstein, on behalf of Southern Trust, has ‘been collaborating with Ariane de Rothschild on behalf of herself, her family and Edmond de Rothschild Holding, S.A. (collectively, the “Rothschild Group”), regarding risk analysis and estate planning matters in respect of assets and the estates of the Rothstchild Group and the application and use of certain algorithms with respect to the same (the “Specified Matters”).’ The misspelling of “Rothstchild” is on the face of the document. The recital adds that the work “may also relate to various immediate and extended family members of Ariane de Rothschild,” together with their heirs, personal representatives and affiliated entities.10
Its fee clause has two limbs. The first, for “Work relating to estate planning matters,” is the one left blank. The second is a ladder:
(i) $10,000,000 if the penalty imposed by the USDOJ against EDRH in any settlement that may be agreed to by them is any amount less than $150,000,000 and greater than $75,000,000; or
(ii) $25,000,000 if the penalty imposed by the USDOJ against EDRH in any settlement that may be agreed to by them is $75,000,000 or less;
with payment due “not later than thirty (30) days after EDRH and the USDOJ enter into the final settlement under which such penalty is imposed.”12 The instrument is the only one in the run whose fee is written as a function of what a government does.
Its signature page provides four places to sign: a rule above “ARIANE DE ROTHSCHILD, individually and in her representative capacity as specified above”; a “By:” rule under “EDMOND DE ROTHSCHILD HOLDING S.A.” above “Name: Ariane de Rothschild” and a “Title:” line with nothing after it; a “By:” rule for Southern Trust above “Jeffrey Epstein”; and a fourth rule above “JEFFREY EPSTEIN”. Read at the image, all four are unmarked: no ink, no redaction bar. The acceptance date is an unfilled rule followed by “day of September, 2015”.7
October 5, 2015: the same day, three different counterparties, one price
Eleven copies of a letter agreement carry the date October 5, 2015 and the figure $25,000,000: six of one version, three of a second and two of a third.
Six of them keep the “Specified Matters” framing but narrow the Rothschild party. Epstein has ‘been collaborating with Ariane de Rothschild on behalf of Edmond de Rothschild Holding, S.A. (collectively, the “Rothschild Group”), regarding risk analysis and the application and use of certain algorithms with respect to the same’. The words “herself, her family” and “estate planning matters in respect of assets and the estates”, which the September draft carries, are gone.10 The fee is no longer a ladder. One paragraph reads ‘For Work specifically relating to outstanding matters between Edmond de Rothschild Holding, S.A. (“EDRH”) and the United States, $25,000,000’, with no full stop after the figure, and the next begins a new paragraph: “Payment shall be made by the Rothschild Group to STC by not later than 3 days after EDRH makes payment to the US .” The trailing space before that full stop is on the face of the document.11
Three more define the subject matter and nothing else. The recital there is that Epstein has been collaborating with her on behalf of Edmond de Rothschild Holding ‘relating to outstanding matters between EDRH and the United States (the “EDRH Matters”)’, and paragraph 2 reads “the Rothschild Group shall pay STC $25,000,000”, payable “not later than 3 days after EDRH makes payment to the United States in connection with the EDRH Matters.”2
The last two name a different company again, and this version says the parties have “been working with” rather than “collaborating”. There the counterparty is “Edmond de Rothschild (Geneve) S.A.” — the document spells the city without its accent — which is not the Suisse entity that the executed instruments name. The subject is “a variety of strategic business matters relating to EDR,” and the fee is “$25,000,000,” payable “by not later than November 15, 2015.”3 The signature page of that version reads “EDMOND DE ROTHSCHILD (GENEVE) S.A.” above a “By:” rule, “Name: Ariane de Rothschild” and “Title: Chief Executive Officer”. All three rules on the sheet are unmarked, and the acceptance date, “5th day of October, 2015”, is printed type.5
The six copies in the first of those three families share a signature page with the September draft, including the blank “Title:” line, and its four rules are likewise unmarked. Its acceptance date is printed as “5th day of october, 2015”, with a lower-case month.8
October 13, 2015
One further version is dated October 13, 2015. It is the first in the run whose address block names Darren K. Indyke as Vice President of Southern Trust rather than Epstein, and it opens “Ladies and Gentlemen:”. Its counterparty is “Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) S.A.”, the same company as the executed $10,000,000 instruments; its subject is “a variety of strategic business matters relating to EDR”, and paragraph 2 reads: “In consideration for the Work, EDR shall pay STC $25,000,000. Payment shall be made by EDR to STC by not later than November 15, 2015.”4
Its signature page carries “EDMOND DE ROTHSCHILD (SUISSE) S.A.” above a “By:” rule, “Name: Ariane de Rothschild” and “Title: Chief Executive Officer”. Read at the image, both “By:” rules on the sheet, the bank’s and Southern Trust’s, are unmarked rules: no ink and no redaction bar. The acceptance block on this sheet, on a letter dated October 13, reads “5th day of October, 2015”, in printed type.6
The executed instrument for that company, in the released copies, is a differently drafted letter at $10,000,000 signed for the bank by Emmanuel Fievet and Cynthia Tobiano. That version, its dates and its signature pages are set out on Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) S.A. This page does not state which of the two signature blocks for that company was the operative one, and nothing cited here answers it.
November 3, 2015: the instrument in her own name
The last version in the run is dated November 3, 2015. It is addressed to Indyke as Vice President of Southern Trust, and no company is named on the Rothschild side anywhere in the text it prints. Its recital reads: ‘Southern Trust Company, Inc., a Virgin Islands corporation (“STC”), has been working with Ariane de Rothschild (“AdR”) on a variety of strategic business matters as well as family estate planning.’ The phrase “family estate planning” appears on no other instrument in the run.117
Paragraph 2 reads: “In consideration for the Work, AdR shall pay STC $15,000,000. Payment shall be made by AdR to STC by not later than November 30, 2015.” Out-of-pocket expenses, travel excluded, are “capped at $100,000”. Paragraph 1 defines the work by reference to future agreement: Southern Trust is to ‘continue to work with AdR as further specified and agreed to between STC and AdR from time to time while this Agreement remains in effect (the “Work”)’, and the text the instrument prints describes no deliverable and sets no term.1 Paragraph 8 puts the agreement under the law of the United States Virgin Islands and confines proceedings to USVI courts, and carries an entire-agreement and supersession clause in the same words as the bank-side versions.19
Read at the image, its last sheet carries four different field states across five fields:
- Under “Very Truly Yours,” her name is set in printed type as “Ariane de Rothschild”.
- To the right of that name a manuscript signature in blue ink reads “A. de Rothschild”. The stroke width varies, the mark sits off the printed baseline and runs well outside the type block, and it carries a hand-drawn flourish. It is ink, not type.
- Immediately below her printed name a region is blacked out by the producing party.
- Southern Trust’s own “By:” line, above “Name: Darren K. Indyke” and “Title: Vice President”, is an unmarked rule, carrying neither ink nor bar.
- The acceptance date, “3rd day of November, 2015”, is printed type, not written in.9 The extraction drops the superscript ordinal and gives “3 day”.
So this instrument, alone in the run, is signed by the Rothschild side and unsigned by Southern Trust. On every other version above, both sides are unsigned.
The extraction of that sheet cannot be used for any of this. The text layer prints the salutation block as the single word “Ariane”, drops the surname; it renders the ink signature not at all, which is what an extraction does with a manuscript mark; and it closes the redaction gap, so that a reader of the text alone would find a blank where the image is black. Three sheets of this document carry a blacked-out region on the image, and none of those gaps survives into the extraction. The same text layer also renders the defined term “AdR” as “MR” through the second, third and fourth sheets.20199
The invoice, December 15, 2015
Southern Trust Company, Inc. issued an invoice on its own letterhead dated December 15, 2015. It is addressed to “Ariane de Rothschild”. Its single line reads: “Amount due pursuant to Agreement dated 3 November 2015” against “US $15,000,000”. Below that, under “Please pay by electronic wire transfer”, the bank name is printed as “Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas” and the account name as “Southern Trust Company, Inc.”21
Two copies of this invoice are in the release, and they are barred to different extents. Three fields are barred on one copy and two on the other, and the two sets are not the same. Address-class and account-number-class values on both are barred on the image and are not reproduced here. On one of the two copies the extraction emits the two characters “Ma” where the image is black, which is redaction-bar noise read out as though it were text.2122
What Deutsche Bank’s chart records
Transaction charts drawn from Deutsche Bank’s document production, transmitted on August 13, 2019 under a small-capitals heading reading “Exhibit A: Leon Black / Rothschild Group Transactions”, which the text layer does not extract at all, carry a row whose five cells read, left to right, 12/21/2015; Benjamin Edmond de Rothschild; Southern Trust Company, Inc.; $14,999,980; DB-SDNY-0005122. The chart states no purpose for it. The row immediately above it, dated 12/18/2015, records $10,000,000 to Southern Trust from Black Family Partners, LP. A separate row on the preceding sheet, dated 12/17/2015 and recording $10,000,000 to Southern Trust from Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) SA of Geneva, is set out on Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) S.A.23
The documents on this page stand in this order and are left to stand in it. The instrument dated November 3, 2015 required $15,000,000 from AdR to Southern Trust by not later than November 30, 2015. The invoice of December 15, 2015 is addressed to Ariane de Rothschild and demands $15,000,000 pursuant to that agreement. The chart records a payment of $14,999,980 to Southern Trust on December 21, 2015 from Benjamin Edmond de Rothschild. The payer named on the chart is not the person who signed the November 3 instrument, and is not the person to whom the December 15 invoice is addressed. Nothing cited on this page states that the payment recorded on the chart was made under the November 3 instrument, or in answer to the December 15 invoice, or by anyone on anyone else’s behalf. This page does not infer it, and no document read for this page resolves it.
The Justice Department matter these documents sit beside
Every version of the letter agreement between September and October 2015 defines its subject, or prices it, by reference to a matter between a Rothschild bank and the United States. The release also contains the government instrument.
On December 10, 2015 the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice issued a letter whose subject block runs over four lines reading, in order, “Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) SA”, “Edmond de Rothschidl (Lugano) SA”, “DOJ Swiss Bank Program – Category 2” and “Non-Prosecution Agreement”, the third line carrying an en dash where the extraction gives an em dash. It is addressed to Kathryn Ruemmler and Christopher Clark at Latham & Watkins LLP. It recites that the two banks had submitted separate Letters of Intent on December 27, 2013 to participate in Category 2 of the Department’s Program for Non-Prosecution Agreements or Non-Target Letters for Swiss Banks, and that on the understandings set out the Department “will not prosecute EdR Switzerland for any tax-related offenses under Titles 18 or 26, United States Code.”24
It fixes the price: “EdR Switzerland agrees to pay the sum of $45,245,000 as a penalty to the Department of Justice”. The next sentence reads: “This shall be paid directly to the United States within seven (7) days of the execution of this Agreement pursuant to payment instructions provided to EdR Switzerland.” The same paragraph provides that “no portion of the penalty that EdR Switzerland has agreed to pay to the Department under the terms of this Agreement will serve as a basis for EdR Switzerland to claim, assert, or apply for, either directly or indirectly, any tax deduction, any tax credit, or any other offset against any U.S. federal, state, or local tax or taxable income.”25 On the copy in the release every signature line on the last sheet is an unmarked rule, so that copy is unexecuted. One name on that sheet is barred, and neither that person nor anything about them is described here.26
Five days after that letter is dated, and on the same day as Southern Trust’s invoice, Epstein wrote to her: “we are separating the amounts into seperate pena;tie= for switz and lugano, . we changed the language , =nbsp; is now good?” Her reply was two lines: “Didn t get the text yet” and “Let me ask”. Earlier in the same thread he had written: “shooting for a friday closing made changes today.&nb=p; you guys should be ready to sign and fund. talk=in the am”, and she had answered, on three lines, “Yes and need to confirm with you who signs”, “Also talk about B and Kathy”, “Let me know what time”.15
Later the same day, in a second thread, he wrote: “Im wondering wheter we should separaate the payments from =ugano and geneva and can we dedicut the penalty as a biz expense.to http://expense.to maintain rep=taion or some classification. etc”, to which her reply was “Can i call u?” Earlier in that thread he had written: “I would prefer that all monies are transfered =enalties fees, legal etc before benj meeting”.16
The two documents are set side by side here and are not joined. The Non-Prosecution Agreement of December 10 forbids the bank from claiming the penalty as a deduction or offset; the message of December 15 asks whether the penalty can be deducted as a business expense. Nothing cited on this page states that he had read the agreement, and no reply of hers on that point is in the release.
On Friday, December 18, 2015, Epstein sent her a message whose whole body is a web address for a Department of Justice press-release page; that address is printed twice on the sheet and carries quoted-printable damage inside the path in both printings. The subject line, which is his, reads “great timing”.27 He sent the same two words to Kathy Ruemmler the same day, in reply to a message from her carrying the same link. The subject line printed on that sheet is his, carrying a “Re:” prefix, and it names the release as “Justice Department Announces Joint Resolution with Two Banks Under Swiss Bank Program”; her own subject line is not printed on the sheet.28
March 2015: BSI, and “GO SLOW”
In late March 2015, before any of the instruments above, a thread runs between Ariane de Rothschild and Epstein on a different subject. It reads bottom-up and continues across a page break; the sequence below is the order the messages were sent, established from the quoting headers on both sheets.13
Epstein, on March 29: “I think you should task kathy with trying to solve the david is=ue, . let her negotiate on your behalf”. Her reply: “Yes . We have to think about how we articulate Kathy and t=am and how we want to go about it”. His: “i un=erstand . speak tomorw”.
Hers, the next morning: ‘Here s a grea= one for you: B s answer to his absences from boards : it was a chosen str=tegy to give me “space” and to “force” boardmemb=rs to respect me… Why not…’
His reply: “not bad, howver , he can not handl= a hostile depostion. where all questions about the bank=C2 , and his knowledge will be on the table. . since the ca=e is about unfair practice. etc. GO SLOW”. The person he calls “he” is not named in that message.
Hers, two paragraphs: “He knows the case well as i have been briefing him systematically on all =spects + he has better knowledge than me on historical agreements between =dmond,David and Eric…” and “They are themselves in un=omfortable position: managing partners who were led to believe they owned =he brand, french taxes, misuse of Lafite for bking ( even using Lafi=e photographs for their advertising) etc”.
His: “yes , and if it were a paper case, where h= could read and sign we might be ok, might however a rea= case. NO WAY. I would suggest playing the w=r game out with Kathy, have her tell you what it might lead to= you have many decisions to make and actions to take. =A0 as i have always said the first second and third prioirty is prot=ction!!. protection for you , the girls the bank, the family .”
Hers: “Just heard that BSI has paid 211mio settlement”. His answer, the last message on the sheet: “yes”.13
On that same day, March 30, 2015, Kathy Ruemmler forwarded to Epstein a Department of Justice Office of Public Affairs release dated Monday, March 30, 2015 and headed “BSI SA of Lugano, Switzerland, is First Bank to Reach Resolution=Under Justice Department’s Swiss Bank Program”, where the ”=” is a quoted-printable artefact standing for a space.29
The ”=” characters inside these quotations are quoted-printable line-break artefacts carried onto the face of the released documents and are quoted as printed. Where such an artefact, or a damaged HTML tag, stands at the very end of a message, it is dropped from the quotation here as belonging to the encoding rather than to the sentence. No clock time from this thread is printed on this page: the same thread carries its timestamps in two renderings that do not agree with one another, and the top-of-message field carries no zone at all.13
The lawyer on the other side of the same matter
A person called “Kathy” appears in her correspondence with Epstein from at least March 2015. Separately, a person named Kathy Ruemmler corresponds with Epstein in the same months, and the December 2015 Non-Prosecution Agreement is addressed to Kathryn Ruemmler and Christopher Clark at Latham & Watkins LLP, and its approval block carries their two names above the firm’s.13142924 This page does not state that these are the same person; no document read for this page says so in terms.
Ruemmler gave a transcribed interview to the House Oversight Committee on July 15, 2026, and it is the fullest first-hand account of this relationship read for this page. Asked to describe her dealings with Epstein, she said that within the first few weeks of meeting him “he asked whether I was available — or whether I could be available to work on a representation for a client of his, which was a Swiss bank that, like every other Swiss bank, had a problem with the U.S. Justice Department. And he was in a primary advisory role with that client throughout my period of time in private practice.”30 Asked who “that mutual client of yours” was, she answered: “It was the Edmond de Rothschild Bank.”30 Elsewhere in the same interview she called Ms. de Rothschild “the client that Epstein and I shared” and said that by October 2014 she “had just been engaged weeks, maybe 3 weeks before, by the Rothschild Bank for a matter that I understood to be quite significant, if not existential for them, and he was the primary adviser, and he had referred the client to me.”3132 Asked what her best recollection of the firm’s billings on that representation was, she said “the single-digit millions.”33
Asked directly by a member of the Committee “what was the extent of that relationship between Mr. Epstein and Ms. de Rothschild?”, she answered: “It was a business relationship, as far as I observed. He was, you know, an advisor to her.” Asked “Was he managing her money?”, she answered: “I don’t know. I don’t — not to my knowledge, but I wouldn’t have any information about that one way or the other.”34 She also told the Committee that she had visited Epstein’s Paris apartment once, for a lunch meeting there with Epstein and Ms. de Rothschild, and that she believed the only other person there was a chef.35 Her page, Kathryn Ruemmler, sets out the rest of her account. A day schedule sent to Epstein, under a date stamp of March 4, 2018, lists an appointment with Ruemmler and Ariane de Rothschild. That is an entry in a diary: it records an appointment made, not a meeting held, and nothing on the sheet records who attended. No clock time from that sheet is printed here.36
That testimony is Ruemmler’s, not Ariane de Rothschild’s. It is included because it is a first-hand account, by a named person with direct knowledge, of the representation that these instruments price, and because two of her answers cut against the sharper reading of the documents above. No statement by Ariane de Rothschild about any of this is on any record read for this page.
On September 13, 2015, the day before the message about “NPA” set out on Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) S.A., she wrote to Epstein, on two lines: “We ll work with Cynthia, henri( to che=k on outside strucutures+ current will ) & i need to think thru who we=ll use as legal rep inside” and “We need to coordinate mssg from DOJ w=th Kathy to the group”. The message she was answering is Epstein’s, about an action list, documents to be signed and governance; the remainder of that sentence concerns a third person and is not quoted here.14
What Epstein’s office recorded
On January 8, 2014, Epstein’s assistant Lesley Groff wrote to Darren Indyke under the subject line “Ariane de Rothschild”: “FYI-…I know Baroness Ariane de Rothschild is VERY important…JE flew in Janusz with him so he can drive her and her daughter around while they are in NY…” The family member referred to is not named in the document and is not named here.37
Groff’s day schedule for Thursday, September 11, 2014, headed “Thurs. Sept. 11, 2014 NY”, lists “10:00am Appt w/Ariane (alone)” and, two hours later, “12-4:00pm Appt w/Ariane de Rothschild”, ending “(LUNCH?)”, with the line “Darren and Rich to attend meeting” beneath it. The times are as printed on a schedule that names its own city; they are not message timestamps.38
What these documents do not establish
- What the work was. The September draft and the six October 5 copies in the first family describe “risk analysis” and “the application and use of certain algorithms”, and the September draft adds estate planning; the Geneve and Suisse versions say only “a variety of strategic business matters relating to EDR”; the November 3 instrument says “a variety of strategic business matters as well as family estate planning” and then defines the work by reference to future agreement between the parties. No version read for this page attaches a schedule or names a deliverable.10111
- Her title. Two instruments print “Title: Chief Executive Officer” beneath her name; two others leave the title line blank; the November instrument prints no title line, and a region immediately below her printed name on its signature page is barred. A separate, undated draft letter written in her name to a United States government office, which carries bracketed instructions to a recipient to place it on letterhead and is therefore not treated here as her own statement, reads “My name is Ariane de Rothschild and I am president of the executive commiteeof the Edmond de Rothschild Holding SA.” The page Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) S.A. records Emmanuel Fievet as the chief executive named in that company’s October 2015 signature blocks. This page reports what each document prints and does not resolve which is right.56739
- Whether any instrument on this page was performed. One of the fourteen carries a signature, and it is hers alone; Southern Trust’s line is blank on every copy read for this page.9
- Who paid what. See the section on the Deutsche Bank chart above.
- Her account of any of it. No statement by Ariane de Rothschild about the instruments, the invoice or the payments is recorded on this page.
Searches run for this page, and their results, are recorded in the note below.17

Letter of agreement dated October 5, 2015 in the version defining “EDRH Matters” as outstanding matters between Edmond de Rothschild Holding, S.A. and the United States, first sheet, with the $25,000,000 fee. This is one of the three October 2015 versions whose recital short-forms her as “Rothschild”. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00584893 p.1. Read at the image at 400 dpi: nothing on this sheet is blacked out and no field on it is left blank. Two further copies carry the same text, EFTA00587465 and EFTA01196959; those were read in the text layer only, and no field state on either of them is reported here. ↩ ↩2 ↩3

The same Geneve version, fifth and last sheet: the signature page reading “EDMOND DE ROTHSCHILD (GENEVE) S.A.” above a “By:” rule, “Name: Ariane de Rothschild” and “Title: Chief Executive Officer”, with a Southern Trust block for Jeffrey Epstein below. Read at the image at 300 dpi: all three rules are unmarked, carrying neither ink nor a redaction bar, and the acceptance date is printed. The text layer of this sheet prints the given name as “Arian”; the image reads “Ariane”. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00585615 p.5. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4

The same October 13 agreement, fifth and last sheet: the signature page reading “EDMOND DE ROTHSCHILD (SUISSE) S.A.” above a “By:” rule, “Name: Ariane de Rothschild” and “Title: Chief Executive Officer”. Read at the image at 300 dpi: both “By:” rules on the sheet are unmarked, carrying neither ink nor a redaction bar; the acceptance date, on a letter dated October 13, is printed as “5th day of October, 2015”. The text layer of this sheet prints the given name as “Arian” and the ordinal as “5’h”; the image reads “Ariane” and “5th”. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01203396 p.5. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4

The same draft, sixth and last sheet: the signature page. Read at the image at 300 dpi: all four signature rules are unmarked, carrying neither ink nor a redaction bar; the “Title:” line under “Name: Ariane de Rothschild” is blank; the acceptance date is an unfilled rule. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00310331 p.6. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4

The same October 5 version, sixth and last sheet: the signature page, identical in form to the September draft’s. Read at the image at 300 dpi: all four rules unmarked, “Title:” blank, and the acceptance date printed as “5th day of october, 2015” with a lower-case month. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00584881 p.6. ↩ ↩2 ↩3
-
The same agreement, fifth and last sheet: the signature page. Read at the image at 300 dpi. Her name is set in printed type under “Very Truly Yours,”; a manuscript signature in blue ink reading “A. de Rothschild” sits to its right, with varying stroke width, off the printed baseline and running outside the type block; one region immediately below her printed name is blacked out; Southern Trust’s “By:” line above “Name: Darren K. Indyke” and “Title: Vice President” is an unmarked rule carrying neither ink nor bar; and the acceptance date, “3rd day of November, 2015”, is printed type. The extraction of this sheet prints the salutation block as the single word “Ariane”, carries no trace of the ink, and closes the redaction gap, so a reader of the text layer alone would conclude that the instrument was unsigned and that nothing had been withheld. Both of those conclusions are false. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01125101 p.5. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4 ↩5

Letter of agreement dated October 5, 2015 to “Jeffrey Epstein, President, Southern Trust Company, Inc.,” first sheet: the recital naming Edmond de Rothschild Holding, S.A. as the Rothschild party, ¶1 and the $25,000,000 fee payable three days after EDRH pays the United States. Email thread of March 29–30, 2015 between Ariane de Rothschild and Jeffrey Epstein, running bottom-up and continuing across a page break; both sheets were read before any of it was quoted, and the order given in the body is the order established from the quoting headers on the two sheets. Where a message runs over more than one line on the image, the quotation above is given joined, those breaks being soft wraps inside the message body; where the sheet prints two paragraphs, they are quoted above as two strings. Two regions on the first sheet and three on the second are blacked out over address-class values; not every address value on the two sheets is barred, and none is reproduced here. No clock time is printed on this page: the English and French quoting headers on the same thread differ by about six hours, and the top-of-message “Sent:” field carries no zone at all. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02506231 pp.1–2. Read at the image at 300 dpi. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4 ↩5

Email thread of September 13, 2015 between Ariane de Rothschild and Jeffrey Epstein, read bottom-up. The extraction renders “We ll” as “We II”; the quotation above follows the image. Her first quoted message runs over two lines on the image, the sentence breaking at the right margin and resuming at the left page margin of the line beneath, outside the message’s own indent; it is quoted above with that break closed, as the single sentence the message carries. Her second quoted line begins at the message’s own indent and is a separate line on the image. The order is: his message about an action list, documents to be signed and governance sits below hers. One region on this sheet is blacked out over an address-class value; not every address value on the sheet is barred, and none is reproduced here. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02487906 p.1. Email thread of December 15, 2015 between Ariane de Rothschild and Jeffrey Epstein, read bottom-up: his message beginning “shooting for a friday closing” sits lowest, her “Yes and need to confirm with you who signs” above it, his “we are separating the amounts” above that, and her “Didn t get the text yet / Let me ask” at the top. Each of his two messages quoted above runs over two lines on the image, the sentence breaking at the right margin and resuming at the left margin of the line beneath, and the extraction carries that break; both are quoted above with that break closed, as the single sentence each message carries. Two regions on this sheet are blacked out over address- and contact-class values; not every such value on the sheet is barred, and none is reproduced here. No clock time from this thread is printed on this page: its timestamps appear in two renderings in different zones and the top-of-message field carries no zone. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02370092 p.1. Read at the image at 300 dpi. ↩ ↩2

A second thread of the same day, December 15, 2015, read bottom-up. The angle-bracketed web address inside one of the quotations above is an auto-linking artefact printed on the face of the document and is quoted as printed; the word “meeting” at the end of the lowest message wraps to the left margin of the following line on the image, and the extraction separates it from the sentence it belongs to, so it is quoted here from the image. The order is: his “I would prefer that all monies are transfered =enalties fees, legal etc before benj meeting” lowest, her “Ok”, his “Im wondering wheter we should separaate the payments”, her “Can i call u?”, and his one-line message at the top. A personal name inside that top message is barred on the image and is not supplied here; the extraction runs the surrounding words together, which is bar noise and not text on the document. Five regions on this sheet are blacked out over address- and contact-class values; not every such value on the sheet is barred, and none is reproduced here. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02478197 p.1. Searches run against the full-text index of the release for this page, 2026-09-10, using the FTS5 index and no
LIKEscan. “Ariane de Rothschild” as an exact phrase returned 4,688 pages across 4,442 documents, of which 4,388 are EFTA and 54 HOUSE_OVERSIGHT; a random sample of twenty-five of those pages was read, and twenty-four of the twenty-five are email messages in which she is a correspondent, all but one of those with Epstein; the twenty-fifth is a draft letter. That is why this page treats the name as a subject rather than as letterhead. The defined terms used by the instruments were searched as exact phrases and separate the versions cleanly: “EDRS Matters” returns one document, EFTA00648735; “EDRS” itself is dealt with on the entity page. “EDR Matters” returns five documents — EFTA00585615, EFTA01191842, EFTA01110892, EFTA01120082 and EFTA01203396. “EDRH Matters” returns three — EFTA00584893, EFTA00587465 and EFTA01196959. “Specified Matters” returns twenty-one pages across fourteen documents, of which seven are the instruments named on this page (EFTA00310331, EFTA00584881, EFTA00584887, EFTA00584898, EFTA00584904, EFTA01071192, EFTA01130115) and seven are a different, unrelated use of the same words: six of those seven are copies of one filing in the Maxwell criminal case and the seventh is an investment-fund document. “family estate planning” returns sixteen documents, of which exactly one is an instrument in this run, EFTA01125101; thirteen of the remaining fifteen belong to a different family’s estate-planning file and two are general passages using the phrase. “pursuant to Agreement dated 3 November 2015” returns two documents, EFTA00586695 and EFTA01119622, which are the two copies of the invoice. “Edmond de Rothschild (Lugano)” returns seven pages, “Swiss Bank Program” seventeen, and “non-prosecution agreement” together with “Rothschild” five. “Benjamin de Rothschild” returns 239 pages and “Edmond de Rothschild Holding” 201. These are counts of what the index holds, not statements about what exists; the index folds case, and a production stamp is a single token, so a quoted stamp returns nothing and must be searched as a prefix. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4 ↩5 -

The same agreement, fourth sheet: the close of ¶7 Notices and ¶8 Miscellaneous, carrying the United States Virgin Islands governing-law and forum provisions and the entire-agreement and supersession clause. One region on this sheet is blacked out on the image; the extraction closes the gap and nothing under it is reproduced or characterised here. The same agreement, third sheet: the close of ¶5, ¶6 No Investment Advice, ¶7 Notices and the notice block for Southern Trust Company, Inc. A second copy of the same invoice, released under a separate production stamp, carrying the same date, the same addressee line and the same figure. Read at the image, at 300 dpi and again at 400 dpi, alongside the first copy: three fields are barred on this copy, drawn as five separate rectangles on the image, and two fields on the other, drawn as two rectangles; the two sets are not the same, so one copy withholds values that the other prints. Address-class and account-number-class values on both are barred and are not reproduced here. The extraction of this copy emits the two characters “Ma” where the image is black, which is redaction-bar noise and not text on the document. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01119622 p.1. ↩

The column headings of both tables on this sheet sit in a solid black band and are not legible; the reading of the columns above follows the order of the values themselves. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00080250 pp.1–2; the exhibit heading is on the first sheet and the row read here on the second. Day schedule sent to Jeffrey Epstein under a date stamp of “Sun 3/4/2018”, listing appointments by time of day. The line read for this page reads “Appt w/Kathy Ruemmler and Arian de Rothschild” — the given name spelled without its final letter on the face of the document. Undated draft letter written in the name of Ariane de Rothschild and addressed to a United States government office, carrying the bracketed instructions “[Please insert on your letterhead]” and “[Please insert the date here]” at its head, and reading in its second paragraph “My name is Ariane de Rothschild and I am president of the executive commiteeof the Edmond de Rothschild Holding SA.” The document is unsigned and undated, and its bracketed instructions show that it was prepared for someone else to put on letterhead, so this page does not treat it as her own statement. Its subject line is only partly barred: one name-class value in it is blacked out on the image.
