An investor who corresponded with Jeffrey Epstein from 2009 to 2017, including from the Gulf. No allegation against him was found anywhere in the release, and none is made here. ⚠⚠ One quoted exchange contains a woman’s name that the producing party withheld. She is not identified here, nothing about her is inferred, and the page says plainly that her identity and her circumstances are unknown to it.

Tom Barrack appears in the released files as a correspondent of Jeffrey Epstein’s across eight years. The traffic is short, fast and personal: BlackBerry messages about where each man is and who he is seeing.

October 2010: Dubai, Paris, and a withheld name

The exchange runs over a few hours on 4 and 5 October 2010 and is on one sheet, read at the image.3

  • Barrack, 04:24: “U and I need to talk about ▮!!! I am just being smart and considerate of her! Where r u tomorrow! I am in Dubai”
  • Epstein: “paris.. will you see sultan?”
  • Barrack, 04:51: “I did. He is in exile—quite sad!!!!”

⚠⚠ THE NAME IN BARRACK’S FIRST MESSAGE IS COVERED ON THE SHEET BY THE PRODUCING PARTY, AND THIS PAGE DOES NOT SUPPLY IT, RECONSTRUCT IT, OR LOOK FOR IT IN ANOTHER COPY. The woman Epstein refers to as “her” is, on the face of the thread, the person whose name Barrack’s message carries. Nothing read for this page identifies her, states her age, says why she travelled, or says whether the two men are referring to the same person at all. ⚠ The page reports the messages and stops, and a reader should not take the juxtaposition for a finding.

⚠ “sultan” is lower-case on the sheet and is not identified here. The release contains a separate high-volume name fragment of that form which the desk has not resolved, and guessing across that gap is exactly the homograph error this desk has recorded. Barrack’s answer, “He is in exile”, is the only thing said about the person.

What is plainly documented is the geography: Barrack writing from Dubai, Epstein in Paris offering his apartment, and the two arranging a call within the hour.3

  • His subject lines are almost all bare Re:, which is the signature of a running exchange and not of a circular.

What this page does not say

No allegation against him was found anywhere in the release.4

Nothing here says he did business with Epstein, took money from him, or introduced anyone to him. ⚠ Nothing here connects him to any later matter in his own public life, which is outside this corpus and outside this page.

⚠⚠ And nothing here should be read as a statement about the woman in the October 2010 thread. Her name was withheld by the producing party; this desk withholds it too, and additionally declines to characterise a person about whom it knows nothing.
