Murray Gell-Mann (1929 to 2019) was a theoretical physicist, the 1969 Nobel laureate in physics for his work on the classification of elementary particles, and a co-founder of the Santa Fe Institute. He is in this release in an unusual position for a scientist named in Jeffrey Epstein’s papers: not only as a name on a roster, but as somebody who does things. He ships on Epstein’s courier account, writes to him, telephones his office and leaves a message of thanks, asks to visit the New Mexico ranch, confirms for a gathering on the island, and is reported twice, from two directions, to have visited Epstein while Epstein was serving a Florida sentence. Money moves: a check for seventy-five thousand dollars to the institute he co-founded, with his name and the word Research written in the memo column.

The money is the thing this page is most careful about. The payee on that check is the Santa Fe Institute. It is not a payment to him, and this page does not write it as one. What the sheet establishes is that a disbursement to an institution was earmarked, in the memo line, for the research of a named individual.2

This page is about documents, not about a reputation, and it does not inflate its subject. He is one of roughly a dozen eminent scientists in this correspondence. What distinguishes his file is not the prize: it is the earmarked money, and the fact that four years later he was still asking for more, through other people.

Several of the sheets cited here also carry material about survivors and about private third parties. Nothing of that kind is reproduced, described, counted or located here, and each footnote states positively what was taken from its sheet. Private third parties stand on several of the sheets cited below. Every one of them is described here by role only and none is named.

The introduction, as Ghislaine Maxwell tells it

On 25 July 2025, in the second day of a Department of Justice interview conducted by the Deputy Attorney General, Ghislaine Maxwell described how Epstein came to be connected to the Santa Fe Institute. She routes it through her father’s business:

Springer-Verlag and then into Pergamon Press, which was the scientific journals business. And he had an interest — he believed that it’s — knowledge is what would prevent war.

And the biggest scientific discoveries — well, not all of them, but many of them are coming from the Eastern block and that’s how we have the relationship with Santa Fe Institute.

And Murray Gell-Mann, specifically. And I introduced Epstein to Murray Gell-Mann. Sorry, to go off on a tangent.6

Asked by Todd Blanche whether this was at the Santa Fe Institute, she answered:

Yes, thank you. And Murray Gell-Mann was there, and Murray Gell-Mann and Epstein got along very, very well.6

Read the next line. Her following sentence is And he was the man of the (unintelligible). Sorry. The word she used is not on the sheet, and none is supplied here.6

Credible allegation, and nothing more. This is an on-record statement by an interested party, made in a federal interview, about events she places in the early 1990s. No document in this release corroborates it, dates it, or contradicts it. She gives no year and no occasion.

What is measurable about this passage is how little of it there is. The transcript’s own alphabetical index, printed at the back of the same volume, gives his entire entry as Gell-Mann / 280:9,10,15,15 / 315:17. Two printed pages of the volume, five line references in all.6

At the second of those two pages she names him again, as an example of the kind of person she says she introduced Epstein to: If I met somebody who was interesting, like Murray Gell-Mann or who I thought he would like, I did that. The sentences around that one are not reproduced, not paraphrased and not characterised here, and this page says nothing whatever about what else stands on that sheet.6

2002: the courier account, in both directions

The earliest dated contact in this file is not correspondence. It is freight.

On 6 November 2002 a FedEx Priority Overnight package was picked up on Epstein’s account, sender GHISLAWNE MAXWELL over JEFFREY E EPSTEIN, recipient MURRAY GELLMAN at the SANTA FE INSTITUTE. It was delivered the following morning at Nov 07, 2002 09:50.5

The same sheet prints her name three different ways in three consecutive blocks: G MAXEWELL, GHISLAINE MAXWELL and GHISLAWNE MAXWELL. All three are the sheet’s. A search on the correct spelling of her name reaches one of the three.5

On 10 December 2002 the traffic ran the other way. A second shipment-detail sheet, produced in a different series, records a package dropped off in Santa Fe, Payor: Shipper, service FedEx Standard Overnight, sender MURRAY GELL MANN over JEFFREY E EPSTEIN, addressed to a member of Epstein’s New York household staff and delivered Dec 11, 2002 12:17. The reference field, which is the shipper’s own internal code and which reads NO REFERENCE INFORMATION on both of the shipments immediately above it, reads:

MG-M PERSONAL5

Two things follow from that sheet and nothing further follows from it. He shipped on Epstein’s courier account rather than his own; and somebody inside Epstein’s office had a code for his shipments. What was in the envelope is not on the sheet.

27 November 2006: For Murray Gell-Mann Research

A single sheet, a disbursement register headed COUQ - 2006, lists twenty-four payments and totals 958,000.00. The last entry before the total reads, across its columns:

Check | 11/27/2006 | 2382 | Santa Fe Institute | For Murray Gell-Mann Research | 75,000.002

The entry immediately above it is Check | 11/16/2006 | 2381 | President and Fellows of Harvard College | 100,000.00, and the register also carries the William J. Clinton Foundation, Hunter College, the Institute Of International Education and nineteen others.2

This page takes one line from that sheet and makes no claim about any other line on it.

What the line establishes, at the tier of documented fact: that on 27 November 2006 a check for seventy-five thousand dollars was drawn to the Santa Fe Institute, and that whoever kept this register recorded its purpose as Murray Gell-Mann’s research. What it does not establish: that he asked for it, that he knew of it, that he received any part of it, or that it was the only one. It is the only entry on this sheet whose memo column names an individual’s research, and no register for any other year was located in this release.29

2008: a scheduling sheet with his line blank

A single undated sheet headed Scientist's to Visit Jeffrey lists fourteen names and, against most of them, the dates on which they said they could come. Mark Tramo has four date ranges, Martin Nowak three, Seth Lloyd a paragraph of conditions, Ben Goertzel seven weekends, George Church a list of exclusions. The sheet is typographically mixed, some entries set in a different face and some printed in blue, which is what a compilation of separate replies looks like.

Murray Gel Mann carries no dates at all.10

The temptation here is to read that blank as a refusal, and the sheet does not support it. Four other names are equally blank: Marvin Minsky:, Jerry Edelman, Prof. Mandelbrot and Richard Axel. The right sentence is that the sheet records no dates against his name, which is all it does. The sheet is dated to 2008 by its own content, from the line Howard Gardner- He will most likely not be able to make a trip down until 2009 and from the weekdays printed against the August and September dates, which fall as 2008 falls.10

9 April 2009: a visit reported, during the sentence

On the morning of Thursday 9 April 2009, while Epstein was serving his Florida sentence, a correspondent signing Howard wrote to him. After a Passover greeting:

I hope that you are continuing to cope with your ‘limited vacation’ and that it will soon be over. We’ve been out of touch but I heard from Vicky Gray that she and Murray Gell- Mann visited and I hope that you had an enjoyable reunion..11

Epstein answered the same afternoon in one line, offering a Saturday.11

Credible allegation, at two removes, and this page is careful about the distance. Howard is not reporting a visit he saw. He is reporting what a third party told him. No visitor log, no calendar entry and no record of any such visit is in this release, and nothing here is a claim about the third party he names.9

Fifteen months later a second correspondent reported the same thing from the other end, and reported it as a direct quotation from Gell-Mann himself. See below.

June 2010: the letter

On 22 June 2010 Lesley Groff sent Gell-Mann a two-sentence message on Epstein’s behalf. It is printed on the second sheet of the same document and reads in its entirety:

What are your summer plans? Can you bring me up to speed on what you are working on?

Jeffrey Epstein3

Five days later, at Sun Jun 27 23:33:17 2010, he answered. This is the only document in this release written by Murray Gell-Mann, and it was forwarded into Epstein’s own mailbox the next morning under the subject line Murray gell-man.

Dear Jeffrey,

Thanks for the messages. I hope your life has returned to normal and is going well.

I’m going to spend three or four weeks in Aspen starting on the first of July. My projects include the following.3

There follow four paragraphs, one for each project: work with Russian linguists on distant relationships among human languages, in which a very large fraction of the world's languages -- but probably not all -- are descended from a single one spoken quite recently; continuing work with Jim Hartle on quantum mechanics, of which he writes The usual description is rather silly; work with two theorists in Vienna on unconventional formulae for entropy; and work on certain kinds of regularities in human history and prehistory. He closes:

It would be fun to discuss any ot these things with you. Do you ever come to Aspen these days?

All the best,

Murray3

any ot these things is what the sheet prints and it is not mended here. It is also the one place in this file where the released text is cleaner than the document: the released text renders that phrase correctly, and a writer quoting from the released text would have published a sentence the physicist did not type.3

What this letter contains, and what it does not. It is warm, it is unguarded, it asks nothing, and it is addressed to a man whose Florida sentence for soliciting a minor had ended the previous summer, with the words I hope your life has returned to normal. It mentions no money.

10 July 2010: tell him to fund my idea

Three weeks after the letter, a correspondent wrote to Epstein from the road:

had to leave aspen suddenly (after a breakfast with Murray Gell-Man, who said — “do you know I visited Jeff? With Vicky?” me: “got a message?” him: “tell him to fund my idea.”)12

Credible allegation, and it does two things at once. It independently corroborates the April 2009 report of a visit, from the other direction and in Gell-Mann’s own reported words; and it has him using a third party to relay a request for money to a man he had written to directly three weeks before without mentioning any. What my idea was is not stated here and is not stated anywhere else in this release.9

12 August 2010: murray doesn't play well in groups

Epstein was asked to vouch for him. At 3:33 in the morning of 12 August 2010 a correspondent wrote:

just got a note from bob pirie who asked me if i thought murray gell man would make a good candidate for the zodiac.7

The message runs on about the society for a further paragraph and ends anyway let me know what you think.... That paragraph speculates about the membership of a private club, names living and recently living third parties, and is not reproduced here.

Epstein’s reply, four hours later, is the whole of his message:

murray doesn’t play well in groups7

Documented fact that Epstein was consulted and answered in these words. It is Epstein’s opinion of a man he had been corresponding with, and it is the only assessment of Gell-Mann by Epstein in this release that was not written for publication. This page does not identify bob pirie.

August to October 2010: the ranch, the island, and the telephone

At 4:50 in the afternoon of Wednesday 25 August 2010 a member of Epstein’s staff wrote to him:

Murray Gell-Man will be coming to the ranch tomorrow between 3:30-4pm. I have informed [two members of the ranch staff].13

A reminder went out the next afternoon.13 An undated note in the same office series records the request that produced the visit: Murray Gell-Man would like to come see you next week Thursday on the ranch.13

On 13 September 2010, Al Seckel sent Epstein the list of people who had agreed to come to a gathering on his island. It opens:

Murray Gell-Mann (I spent the afternoon/evening with him today. He said he just saw you in Santa Fe).14

Read what stands three lines below that list on the same sheet, because it changes what the sheet is. Seckel continues:

On another matter, would you be interested in having all that crap that comes up on a google search on your name basically disappear? Pablos and I were talking about it, and we can make it happen for about 20 - 25K. We know the right people to hire.14

The other sheet of the same thread carries Epstein’s answer to it: send wire details,, what should i expect as a result and in what time frame.14

Two things are true of that document and the page holds them apart. Gell-Mann’s name heads a guest list inside a thread in which Epstein is buying the suppression of search results about himself. That is a fact about the document and about the man who compiled the list. It is not a fact about Gell-Mann, whose presence on the list is reported by Seckel and who is not shown by any document in this release to have known what else was in the message. A second roster three days later opens Murray Gell-Mann confirmed.14

On the evening of Monday 4 October 2010, Lesley Groff took a telephone message and typed it out for Epstein. The subject line is Murray Gel-man. The body is three short blocks:

Murray Gel-Man called…he wanted to:

“Thank you for helping with my research expenses…and thank you for the invitation to St. Thomas in early January …”

He said he didn’t know how exactly to reach you, but knew he could leave a message with me for you!4

Two tiers in one sheet. That the message was taken and relayed in these words is a documented fact. What he actually said on the telephone is Groff’s transcription of a call, and is a credible allegation at one remove.

Do not flatten the last sentence. Four years after the check and three months after writing to him directly, he did not have a way of reaching Epstein himself. The relationship ran through Epstein’s office.

helping with my research expenses is in the present tense and this page cannot date it. It may refer to the 2006 check; it may refer to something later. No second payment record was located in this release, and no disbursement register for any year other than 2006 was located.9

2011 and 2012: relayed words, and Davos

On 15 September 2011 Martin Nowak passed on a compliment, in four lines, of which the first is murray gell-mann told corina / that i am brilliant but i don't listen to anybody.15

On 25 January 2012, World Economic Forum week, a woman corresponding with Epstein from the conference asked him whether she should approach Gell-Mann. The thread stands on one sheet under the subject RE: Murray gell man here. She asks Should I tty to meet; Epstein answers he will love you,, of course; she asks If I am able to get his attention to say hi can I .mention your name?; and Epstein writes back:

tell hm we ae close ,, youv e been to the ranch etc. tell him you know he likes beautiful women , he wil like that16

This is the ugliest sentence in the file and it is a sentence about Epstein. The tier is documented fact that Epstein wrote it, and nothing further. It is a coaching note written to get a stranger an introduction. It is not adopted here as a description of Murray Gell-Mann, and no document in this release supports it as one.

The introduction did not happen. Her message the following afternoon, on a copy of the same thread, reads Waited for Murray after his session but he was too swamped.16

The correspondent is not named, initialled or described here beyond her role, because it could not be established that she is not a survivor and the burden is inverted.

On 5 November 2012 a Spencer Trask Ventures private-placement solicitation was forwarded to Epstein through his office. The sentence that names him runs across a sheet break, and reads, taking its two halves together, Science Advisory Board members Dr. Murray Gell-Mann (Nobel Laureate and Chair of the Evolution of Human Languages Program at the Santa Fe Institute) and Dr. Richard Blankenbecler.8

This is the borderline document in the file and the page says so. It is not him acting. It is a broker using his name as collateral in a securities solicitation addressed to Epstein, and it belongs here as evidence of what his name was worth to other people, which is a different finding from what he did.

2016, 2017, 2019: Epstein talking about him

After November 2012 the file contains no further contact. What it contains instead is Epstein invoking him.

On 24 May 2016, writing to Rupert Sheldrake, Epstein reported a view: gellman did not dismiss telepathy, he said that if it existed it would have a scientific explanation. and maybe needed a new theory. Sheldrake replied Good to know this about Gell man. I agree with him.17

In an undated prepared question-and-answer for Epstein, drafted by a staffer whose bracketed note to him is still in the file, the second question is Who were your mentors? and the answer runs Many of my mentors have died. Ace Greenberg was a substantial influence in my professional life. In science, I was fortunate to have worked with such brilliant minds as Gerald Edelman, Murray Gell-Mann and Marvin Minsky.18 On 19 June 2017 Epstein typed a rougher draft of the same claim himself, listing murray gellman among the dead mentors, sent it to a correspondent and wrote seconds later sorry , sent to you in error , please ignore. .18

That is Epstein’s claim about Epstein. This page does not present it as a description of any relationship. This wiki’s page on Stephen Hawking already establishes that Epstein’s rosters of scientists he claims to have worked with or sponsored do not agree with one another, and this page inherits that finding rather than re-arguing it.

On 24 May 2019, the day he died, a message arrived on a device in the release at 19:11:09 UTC reading Oh no Murray Gell-Mann. An hour and a quarter later the same log records an obituary link sent from the account, and the answer yup.19 No party to that log is named here.

Where else he stands in the record

In October 2009, at a deposition in a Palm Beach County civil action, Epstein was asked Do you know Murray Gelman? and invoked the Fifth, Sixth and Fourteenth Amendments, as he did to every question in that run. That sheet is already read, quoted and framed at Ben Goertzel, which sets out the four questions before Goertzel’s and the four after, and this page does not restate it.20 The one thing worth adding is a methodological finding: the transcript spells him Gelman, with one l, and that question is invisible to every ordinary spelling of his name.1

At a deposition whose sheets carry the production footer GJ SUBPOENA RESPONSE, an examiner worked through a list of guests. Transcript page 204, lines 8 to 19:

Q. And do you recall a guest, Murray Gell-Mann? A. Mary Gell-Mann? MR. WILLITS: I think you said — MS. EZELL: Murray. MR. WILLITS: — Murray and he said Mary. BY MS. EZELL: Q. Murray, Murray Gell-Mann. And, again, I’m speaking of these — these — A. Is that a man or a woman? Q. I believe it’s a man. A. Murray Gell-Mann. Could be, but I don’t recall.21

He is the subject of the question, not the witness, and the answer is that the witness does not recall him. This page names no deponent and infers none, and the footer is a production stamp on the sheets and not a description of the proceeding.

In 2019 the New York Times reported a fact this release does not contain: that John Brockman was his literary agent, and that in the acknowledgments to his 1995 book The Quark and the Jaguar he thanked Epstein for financial support.22 The primary source for that is the book, the book is not in this release, and the acknowledgment has not been verified for this page. It is set down here as a newspaper’s report of a primary document, and as the earliest suggestion anywhere in this material that money had moved before 2006.

What this page does not establish

  • That Murray Gell-Mann ever visited Jeffrey Epstein. Two correspondents report it, in April 2009 and July 2010, one of them quoting him directly. Neither is a record of a visit, and no visitor log, calendar entry or jail record for that period is in this release.11129
  • That he received any of the seventy-five thousand dollars. The payee is the Santa Fe Institute. No document read here records what the Institute did with it, or whether he knew of it.2
  • That any money moved after November 2006. A telephone message of October 2010 thanks Epstein for helping with my research expenses in the present tense. No second payment record was located, and no disbursement register for any year other than 2006 was located in this release.49
  • What my idea was. He asked a third party to relay a funding request in July 2010. The letter he wrote three weeks earlier lists four projects and asks for nothing. No document read here connects them.312
  • That he attended the island gathering. Two rosters of September 2010 record him as confirmed for a gathering the sheets themselves date inconsistently, one heading saying January 8, 2011 over a body saying 8th January 2010. No document read here records that the gathering took place or who was at it.14
  • Anything about his views of Epstein. Every characterisation of Epstein attributed to him in this release is relayed by somebody else. The one document he wrote asks after Epstein’s health and describes his own work.3
  • That he was a mentor to Epstein, or that Epstein worked with him. Epstein said so twice, in material his own office was preparing for publication. That is Epstein’s claim and this page does not adopt it.18
  • Anything the sentence Epstein wrote at Davos asserts about him. It is a sentence Epstein wrote to get a stranger an introduction. No document in this release supports it and this page does not repeat it as a claim.16
  • Anything about his life outside these documents. This page is built entirely from the released record and imports nothing from anywhere else, with three exceptions, each of them stated rather than assumed: the two biographical facts in the first sentence, and the dates of Jeffrey Epstein’s Florida sentence, which are not established by any document cited here and are taken from this wiki’s own pages on that prosecution.

  1. Name forms, measured 2026-10-01 against a local copy of the full-text index of this release, each form run as an exact FTS5 phrase against the page text, counted as count(distinct efta_number) and count(*) of pages. The index tokenises a hyphen and a space alike, so gell mann and Gell-Mann are one query. murray gell mann 141 documents / 151 pages; gell mann bare 160 / 192; murray gell 200 / 211; gell man, one n, 68 / 69; murray gellman, one word, 44 / 46; gel man, one l and one n, 10 / 10; gel mann 4 / 4; gellman mann, the spelling doubled, 3 / 3; murray gelman, one l, 2 / 3. They include every other bearer of a similar surname in this release, of whom the largest by far is the journalist Barton Gellman, whose Snowden reporting is carried in a book held in the House Oversight production. One of his sheets, https://epstein-data.com/HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_019558 p. 1, is reachable by a search for gell man and contains no Murray at all: the source is hard-wrapped and the wrap hyphenates Gellman as Gell- and man across a line break, which normalises into the phrase. The wrap does not hide a name here; it manufactures one. This page reports no union figure and no attributable total, because the surname residual has not been swept document by document and no edit-distance enumeration has been run. Assume the file is larger than any one of these phrases reaches, and assume a spelling not on this list. ⚠ The one-l spelling Gelman is a live blind spot across this whole corpus: it returns two documents, and one of them is the 2009 deposition at Ben Goertzel. ↩ ↩2

From the third block this page takes the drop-off date, the payor field, the reference code, the service type, the sender block, the Santa Fe origin and the delivery stamp. ⛔ The recipient of that shipment is a member of Epstein’s household staff; she is described here by role and is not named. ⛔ No street line and no address is taken from either sheet. ⛔⛔ No field from either sheet’s invoice header block is reproduced, and this page describes neither sheet’s treatment of any such field, in either direction. ⚠ The two sheets record different shipments five weeks apart, this page compares nothing and no copy of anything, and the shipment facts above are the whole of what is taken from them. Four further sheets in this release carry GELLMAN over a Santa Fe Institute line in the recipient block of a courier sheet of this series: measured 2026-10-01 over the full-text index, https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00217842 p. 9, https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01317916 p. 4, https://epstein-data.com/DOJ-OGR-00015310 p. 39 and https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02825472 p. 39. None was opened and none is relied on, and the query that found them is one query and not a sweep. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4

  6. Interview of Ghislaine Maxwell, United States Department of Justice, July 25, 2025, second day, appearances for the United States including Todd Blanche, Deputy Attorney General; reported by Magna Legal Services. https://epstein-data.com/DOJ-OGR-00022759 . Three sheets of it read at the image at 400 dpi, and its caption sheet at 200 dpi. ⚠⚠ FOUR numbers identify a sheet of this document and this footnote states which is which, every time. The passage quoted at length stands on the sheet Bates-stamped DOJ-OGR-00022823, printed transcript folio Page 280, lines 1 to 19, which is page 62 of the PDF this site serves and page 65 of the local extraction, where the database numbers it page_number 64. The single sentence quoted from the later passage stands on the sheet Bates-stamped DOJ-OGR-00022858, printed folio Page 315, lines 16 to 18 (served PDF page 97; database page_number 99). The index entry stands on the sheet Bates-stamped DOJ-OGR-00022892, whose own printed folio is Page 11 (served PDF page 131; database page_number 133), and reads in full Gell-Mann / 280:9,10,15,15 / 315:17. ⚠⚠ The served PDF and the local extraction do not paginate this document alike: three sheets present in the extraction are absent from the served copy, the offset changes between served pages 10 and 20, and a formula fitted after that point gives a page number below 1 for the caption sheet. Only the Bates stamp and the printed folio identify a sheet of this document reliably, and both are given above for every sheet cited. ⛔⛔ From the folio 315 sheet this page takes one sentence and takes nothing else. The sentences before and after it are not reproduced, not paraphrased, not summarised and not characterised, and this page says nothing about what that passage is about. From the folio 280 sheet this page takes lines 1 to 19 as quoted, the speaker labels, and the fact that the words she used at line 18 are marked (unintelligible) on the sheet. ⛔ Two machine transcriptions of the same interview exist in the release; they render him Murray Gellman and Mary Gellman, neither was opened, and neither is quoted. See Ghislaine Maxwell. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4 ↩5 ↩6

  7. Message to Jeffrey Epstein of Thu, Aug 12, 2010 at 3:33 AM and Epstein’s reply of Thur 8/12/2010 7:42:17 AM, subject Re: murray. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01815889 p. 1 (stamp EFTA_R1_00187131). The run is one sheet. VERIFIED AT THE IMAGE at 400 dpi. From this sheet this page takes the two stamps, the subject line, the first sentence of the inbound message, its closing words, and the whole of Epstein’s reply, which is one line. The double space inside doesn't play well is the sheet’s and markdown will not render it; it is recorded here. ⚠⚠ The sheet prints bob pirie. The corpus text layer prints bob pine in one place and bob pixie in another, and a page quoting from the extraction would have printed a name that is on no sheet. He is not identified here. ⛔ The paragraph between the two quoted passages speculates about the membership of a private society and names living and recently living third parties; it is not reproduced, summarised or characterised. ⛔ No address is taken from this sheet. ⚠ The confidentiality notice below the message is Epstein’s export boilerplate and is appended to every sheet in this series. ↩ ↩2 ↩3

  8. Spencer Trask Ventures, Inc. private-placement solicitation of November 5, 2012 3:52:39 PM EST, forwarded to Jeffrey Epstein through his office at Mon, 05 Nov 2012 21:29:39 +0000, two sheets. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00402254 pp. 1-2 (1-indexed; the second sheet’s own stamp is EFTA00402255). p. 2 TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED; p. 1 TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED. ⚠⚠ The sentence quoted runs across the sheet break: Science Advisory Board members Dr. Murray stands at the foot of p. 1 and Gell-Mann (Nobel Laureate and Chair of... at the head of p. 2. This page cites both sheets because neither carries the sentence alone, and it takes nothing else from either. ⛔ No address, mail handle or footer detail is taken from either sheet. A second solicitation from the same firm three days later, at https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00947557 p. 1, TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED, makes a similar claim. ⚠ Whether he in fact sat on that board is not established by these sheets or by any other document read for this page; what they establish is that the pitch said so. ↩ ↩2

  9. Statements of absence on this page are bounded to the documents read and returned for it and to the full-text index of this release, measured 2026-10-01. They are not assertions that no such document exists anywhere. Specifically: no record of a visit by him to Jeffrey Epstein was located, in any form, for any date; no disbursement register for any year other than 2006 was located, and a search of this release on the 2006 register’s own heading token returned no other register of that shape; no second payment naming him was located; no document written by him after 27 June 2010 was located; no statement by him about Jeffrey Epstein was located; no document recording that the January island gathering took place, or who attended it, was located; and no document identifying what my idea was, was located. ⚠ The search forms used to reach this file are listed at 1 and are not exhaustive: no edit-distance enumeration was run, the surname residual has not been swept, and six spellings of his name are known to be productive in this release, so assume a seventh. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4 ↩5 ↩6 ↩7

  10. Single undated sheet headed Scientist's to Visit Jeffrey, fourteen names. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00314253 p. 1. The run is one sheet. VERIFIED AT THE IMAGE at 400 dpi. From this sheet this page takes the heading, the fact that Murray Gel Mann carries no dates, the four other names that equally carry none, the Howard Gardner line, and the observation that the sheet is set in mixed faces and part-printed in blue. The apostrophe in the heading is the sheet’s. The 2008 dating rests on two things and is stated as a dating, not as a date on the sheet: the reference forward to 2009, and the weekdays printed against Sat Aug 9, Sat Aug 16, Sat Aug 23, Sat Aug 30 and September 6th, which fall as they fall in 2008 and not in 2007 or 2009. ⚠ The sheet is reachable only through the spelling Gel Mann, with one l. ↩ ↩2

  11. Message to Jeffrey Epstein of Thu, Apr 9, 2009 at 11:42 AM and Epstein’s reply of Thur 4/9/2009 3:56:16 PM, subject Re: passover greetings for Jeffrey (and Lesley). https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01828069 p. 1 (the sheet’s own stamp is EFTA_R1_00203418). The run is one sheet. VERIFIED AT THE IMAGE at 400 dpi. From this sheet this page takes the two stamps, the subject line, the sentence quoted, the writer’s sign-off Howard, and the fact that Epstein’s reply offered a Saturday. ⛔ The writer is not identified here beyond the sign-off quoted above, and the four further paragraphs of his message, which describe his own work, his household and his movements, are not reproduced, because they would identify him. ⛔ Nothing is taken from Epstein’s reply line but the day it offered. ⚠ The double full stop at the end of the quoted sentence is the sheet’s, and the hyphenation of the surname across the line break is the sheet’s own wrap. ⚠ The third party named in the quoted sentence is a private individual; this page asserts nothing whatever about her, and no other document read for this page concerns her. ↩ ↩2 ↩3

  12. Message to Jeffrey Epstein, Sat 7/10/2010 4:36:28 PM, subject Re:. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02410195 p. 1 (stamp EFTA_R1_01470826). The run is two sheets. p. 1 VERIFIED AT THE IMAGE at 400 dpi; p. 2 TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED. The second sheet carries only the export boilerplate and Epstein’s own prompt of Jul 10, 2010, at 9:29 AM, which reads now where? and is quoted here from the extraction. From p. 1 this page takes the stamp and the parenthesis quoted, which is complete as quoted: the parenthesis closes on the sheet and the quotation ends where it closes. ⛔ The writer is not named here and no address is taken from the sheet. ⛔ The rest of the message concerns the writer’s household, move and acquaintances, and none of it is reproduced. The double spaces inside the quotation are the sheet’s. The sheet spells him Murray Gell-Man. ↩ ↩2 ↩3

  13. Three office messages in one August 2010 sequence, plus one undated note. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02423673 p. 1 (Wed 8/25/2010 4:50:14 PM; stamp EFTA_R1_01490756) VERIFIED AT THE IMAGE at 400 dpi; https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02423249 p. 1 (Thur 8/26/2010 2:48:37 PM; stamp EFTA_R1_01490196) TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED; and https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02407163 p. 1 (stamp EFTA_R1_01466525), TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED, which carries no date field in the extraction and is not dated here. ⛔⛔ Two members of the ranch staff are described in the quotation by role only, and the square brackets mark that substitution. ⛔ No sender is named and no address is taken from any of the three sheets. Further copies and office notes in the same sequence are at https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00758118, https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00758203 and https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00757711; none was opened and none is relied on. ↩ ↩2 ↩3

  14. Al Seckel to Jeffrey Epstein, thread of four messages of Mon, 13 Sep 2010 running from 1:17 AM to 12:11:36 +0000, over three sheets. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00756630 pp. 1-2 (1-indexed; the second sheet’s own stamp is EFTA00756631). pp. 1-2 VERIFIED AT THE IMAGE at 400 dpi. From p. 2 this page takes the first entry on the confirmation list in full and the whole of the paragraph that follows the list. From p. 1 it takes only the one line of Epstein’s quoted above, which was read at the image at 400 dpi for this page after a draft had quoted the extraction’s rendering of its punctuation. ⚠⚠ The corpus text layer of p. 2 prints all that trap; the sheet prints crap. ⚠⚠ The corpus text layer of p. 1 renders the doubled comma in send wire details,, as a single low quotation mark; the sheet prints two commas, as it does in every other place on this page where that mark appears. ⚠ The stamps on this thread run on more than one clock, this page does not reconcile them, and it does not order the messages by them. The other nine names on the confirmation list are not reproduced here. The second roster is at https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02419356 p. 2 (stamp EFTA_R1_01484987), TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED, which opens Murray Gell-Mann confirmed. A third copy of that roster, at https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00302095 p. 1, TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED, is headed Island Scientist Gathering / January 8, 2011 above a body that reads is on 8th January 2010. ⚠ The sheet contradicts itself about the year and the contradiction is not silently corrected here. See Al Seckel. ↩ ↩2 ↩3 ↩4 ↩5

  15. Martin Nowak to Jeffrey Epstein, Thur 9/15/2011 4:33:41 PM, one sheet. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01857189 p. 1 (stamp EFTA_R1_00254832). TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED. The sentence quoted is the first of the four lines that are the whole body; the remaining three concern a third party and Nowak’s own pleasure at the exchange and are not reproduced. Three further copies are at https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00919129, https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02693703 and https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02543348; none was opened. See Martin Nowak. ↩

  16. Thread of four messages of Wed, 25 Jan 2012 between Jeffrey Epstein and a correspondent writing to him from the World Economic Forum, subject RE: Murray gell man here. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00719079 p. 1. The run is two sheets. The second carries only the export boilerplate. p. 1 VERIFIED AT THE IMAGE at 400 dpi. From p. 1 this page takes the subject line, the four timestamps, her two questions, and both of Epstein’s replies in full. The damage in Epstein’s lines is the sheet’s and is not mended, including tell hm, we ae close, youv e, he wil like that and the doubled commas, which the corpus text layer renders as a single low quotation mark and which are two commas at the image. ⛔⛔ The correspondent is not named, initialled or described here beyond her role, and no address is taken from either sheet, because it could not be established that she is not a survivor and the burden is inverted. Her reply of Thu, 26 Jan 2012 16:12:06 +0000 is on a copy of the same thread at https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00656392 p. 1, TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED; the one sentence quoted from it is the whole of what is taken from that sheet, and the words after it, which name a third party, are not reproduced. ⚠ The rest of her 25 January message reports on a conference session and names a panellist; none of it is reproduced. ⚠ The confidentiality notice below the thread is Epstein’s export boilerplate. Five further copies of this thread are in the release; none was opened. ↩ ↩2 ↩3

  17. Rupert Sheldrake to Jeffrey Epstein, Tue, 24 May 2016 22:19:36 +0000, subject Re: links, quoting Epstein’s message of the same evening, one sheet. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00703967 p. 1. TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED. Epstein’s sentence is quoted to its last word, including the trailing clause and maybe needed a new theory, and Sheldrake’s reply is quoted as far as I agree with him. ⚠ Tier: credible allegation. This is Epstein’s report of a view he attributes to Gell-Mann, in a message written to persuade, and no document in this release records Gell-Mann saying it. A further copy is at https://epstein-data.com/EFTA02462338 p. 1; it was not opened and is not relied on. ↩

  18. Two documents. The prepared question-and-answer: https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00799469 p. 2 (1-indexed; database page 1; the sheet’s own Bates stamp is EFTA00799470). TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED. From this sheet this page takes the second question and the first three sentences of its answer, and the fact that a staffer’s bracketed note to Epstein is still standing in the document. The list of names that follows in the same answer is not reproduced. The draft in Epstein’s own typing: https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01043167 p. 1 only (1-indexed; database page 0), Mon, 19 Jun 2017 13:12:02 +0000. TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED. From p. 1 this page takes the date, the two clauses quoted and the withdrawal line, and nothing else. ⛔⛔ This document has five sheets and this page cites one. No other sheet of it was opened, read, quoted, summarised, characterised or alluded to, and none is relied on for anything. ⛔ The recipient of the withdrawn message is not named here. ⚠ Tier on both: documented fact that Epstein’s office and Epstein wrote these words. The claim itself is Epstein’s. Six further copies of the prepared Q-and-A are in the release, among them https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00854103 and https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00642543; none was opened. ↩ ↩2 ↩3

  19. Device message log, 2019-05-24, entries at 19:11:09 UTC and 20:26:01 (UTC). https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00507848 p. 11 (1-indexed; database page 10; the sheet’s own Bates stamp is EFTA00507858). The run is seventeen sheets. TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED. From this sheet this page takes the two timestamps, the four words of the incoming message, the fact that an obituary link was sent from the account on the log, and the one-word answer. ⛔ No party to that log is named here and the link’s destination is not reproduced. ⚠ The extraction repeats several blocks of this log and the sequence above is stated only as far as the timestamps carry it. ↩

  20. Continued Deposition of Jeffrey Epstein, Volume II, 8 October 2009, Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida. The question Do you know Murray Gelman? stands at transcript page 0108, line 21, on https://epstein-data.com/EFTA01158522 p. 39, Bates-stamped EFTA01158560. TEXT LAYER ONLY FOR THIS PAGE, NOT OPENED HERE. That sheet is already read at the image, quoted and framed at Ben Goertzel, which sets out the four questions before Goertzel’s and the four after and records the transcript’s own spellings; this page cross-links it and does not restate it. ⛔ No party to that deposition is named here other than the witness. The same sentence naming him in an exhibit to the same action is cited at Ben Goertzel from https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00723522 p. 33 and is not restated here either. ↩

  21. Deposition transcript, examination by Ms. Ezell with Mr. Willits appearing, transcript page 204, lines 8 to 19, on a sheet footed GJ SUBPOENA RESPONSE 000480. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00101322 p. 124 (1-indexed; database page 123; the sheet’s own Bates stamp is EFTA00101445). VERIFIED AT THE IMAGE at 400 dpi. From this sheet this page takes the folio, the line numbers, the two attorney names as the transcript prints them, and lines 8 to 19 verbatim. ⛔ This page names no deponent and infers none. ⛔ Nothing whatever is taken from this sheet’s footer. The questions before and after concern other guests and are not reproduced. Two further copies are at https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00181630 p. 124 and https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00157568 p. 31; neither was opened and neither is relied on. ↩

  22. The New York Times, 2019, filed in the release as a press capture. https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00018441 p. 4 (1-indexed; database page 3; the sheet’s own Bates stamp is EFTA00018444). TEXT LAYER ONLY, NOT OPENED. The one sentence taken from this sheet is Mr. Brockman was Mr. Gell-Mann's agent, and Mr. Gell-Mann, in the acknowledgments section of his 1995 book "The Quark and the Jaguar," thanked Mr. Epstein for his financial support. ⚠⚠ The primary source is the book. The book is not in this corpus and this desk has not verified the acknowledgment, which is why the body attributes the report to the newspaper rather than stating the fact. ⛔ The rest of the article concerns other scientists and other allegations and is not reproduced or characterised here. Three further copies of the same article are at https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00018466 p. 5, https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00085684 p. 5 and https://epstein-data.com/EFTA00069926 p. 5; the pin was checked on all three and the sentence stands where stated; none was opened. See John Brockman. ↩
