⚠ what this page is about, and what it is not

A company at Jeffrey Epstein’s New York townhouse address, funded by six-figure transfers from his personal JPMorgan account and used to receive ordinary third-party cheques. ⚠⚠ What the initials stand for, who owned it and what it did are NOT established by any document read for this page.

The transfer memoranda

The instrument is the same each time. A memorandum on stationery headed JEFFREY E. EPSTEIN, addressed to a named contact at JP Morgan, signed by Harry Beller, and faxed from the machine of another Epstein company. The one read at the image reads:

Please transfer Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) from the above account to NES, LLC account #

No account number from that sheet is reproduced here.2

The sheet is JPMorgan material produced to prosecutors, footed “Confidential Treatment Requested by JPMorgan Chase” with a JPM-SDNY production stamp.

Other memoranda in the same series direct $100,000, $50,000, $75,000, $150,000 and $250,000. ⚠⚠ THOSE ARE AMOUNTS SEEN IN A SAMPLE AND ARE NOT A TALLY. No total is stated on this page, because the same memorandum appears in multiple copies and a sample is not a sum. This desk has been wrong three times by adding up what it happened to see.2

The cheques

Most of the population is cheque images. They show the company as payee at the townhouse address, with drawers who are ordinary businesses: a health insurer, a flooring company, a building supplier. ⚠ These read as refunds or rebates to a household, and nothing about them is remarkable; they are recorded because they are most of what the name returns.3

⚠⚠ Why the desk nearly did not write this page

A standing desk note said NES, LLC, DO NOT COMMISSION ON THIS EVIDENCE, on the ground that “the 9,487-page count is one form repeated” and that “nothing sampled shows it deciding anything.”

The first half is right and this page adopts it: re-sampled, 68 of 120 documents are cheque images, and no count of the population appears anywhere on this page.

⚠⚠ The second half is what the note itself invited the desk to retest, “Re-sample away” from the cheques, and doing so found the transfer memoranda. The note is not struck: it remains true that nothing shows this company deciding anything. What changed is that the company is now documented as a destination for Epstein’s money, which is worth a page even if the company never acted.4

What this page does not say

⚠⚠ IT DOES NOT SAY WHAT THE COMPANY WAS FOR. No formation document, no member, no officer, no purpose and no expansion of the initials was found in anything read. ⚠ It does not say the transfers were improper: moving money between one’s own accounts and entities is ordinary, and nothing read shows what the money was then used for.

No allegation against any named person was found, and none is made here.5

Footnotes

Footnotes

  1. Identification. ⚠⚠ The desk established the address and nothing else. Every cheque image read gives the payee as NES, LLC, 9 East 71st Street, New York, NY 10021, which is Epstein’s townhouse. No articles of organization, no operating agreement, no member or officer, and no expansion of “NES” was found in any document read for this page. The page does not guess at the initials. 2

  2. The transfer memoranda. EFTA01579005 p.1, read at the image at 700 dpi: a memorandum on JEFFREY E. EPSTEIN stationery, To: a named JP Morgan contact, From: Harry Beller over a handwritten signature, Date: December 4, 2007, directing the transfer of $200,000 to the company’s account. The fax header shows it sent from the machine of NYSG LLC. The sheet is footed “Confidential Treatment Requested by JPMorgan Chase” and carries a JPM-SDNY production number. ⚠⚠ NO ACCOUNT NUMBER FROM THIS SHEET IS REPRODUCED HERE. An account number is a live credential, not investigative detail, and it stays barred irrespective of any ruling about professional contact values. ⚠ The letterhead also carries telephone and fax numbers, which are not reproduced because they add nothing. Two further memoranda of the same form, read from the text layer, are EFTA01589189 ($100,000, 28 January 2008) and EFTA01588352 ($50,000, 17 July 2008). ⚠⚠ "NES, LLC" co-occurs with transfer in 1,241 documents. That is a co-occurrence count, not a count of transfers, and no total dollar figure is stated on this page. Amounts of $75,000, $150,000 and $250,000 appear in the same sample; one apparent “$100,009” is an OCR artefact and is not treated as a figure. 2 3 4

  3. The cheques. Sampled at 120 documents, 68 are cheque images. They give the payee as the company at the townhouse address and are drawn by ordinary businesses. ⚠ The drawers are named on the sheets and are not reproduced here, because they are third parties to whom nothing on this page relates. ⚠⚠ No account number from any cheque image is reproduced. 2

  4. The standing note, and what survives of it. _desk/SUBJECT_GAP.md carried “NES, LLC, DO NOT COMMISSION ON THIS EVIDENCE. The 9,487-page count is one form repeated”, describing the cheque images as “the letterhead trap in cheque form” and adding that “There may be a company behind it worth a page, but nothing sampled shows it deciding anything” and “Re-sample away”. ⚠ The desk re-sampled as instructed and confirms the cheque finding; no population count appears on this page. The note’s second limb also stands: nothing read shows this company deciding anything. The page exists because the company is a documented destination for Epstein’s money, not because it acted. This is the third DO NOT COMMISSION note the desk has tested today. Two were struck as false; this one was substantially right and is not struck.

  5. Absences, each scoped. No allegation against any person named in connection with this entity was found in the release read for this page. ⚠⚠ This is a narrow check: the desk sampled 120 documents of a large population and opened one at the image. It ran no systematic adverse sweep, searched none of the six derived stores, and found no corporate record of any kind. What “NES” stands for, who owned it, and what the money was used for are all unestablished, and a deeper pass is owed.
