Ramsey Elkholy is an American anthropologist and musician who worked as a model agent and scout in New York in the 2010s.12 The documents returned by the searches described below are a correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein running from August 2009 to April 2019, the latter three months before Epstein’s final arrest.67 In it he offered to introduce women to Epstein, described them to him in sexual terms, discussed what pretext to give them for visiting Epstein’s Manhattan house, was scheduled by Epstein’s office to bring women there, and in 2016 and 2017 proposed that he and Epstein invest together in Brazilian modelling agencies and fashion magazines.891011121314 He told the BBC in March 2026 that he regretted the language in some emails and his association with Epstein, that he had not been aware Epstein was abusing women, and that the files show he met Epstein ten to twelve times over ten years.1 In August 2026 a member of the House of Representatives named him in a one minute floor statement urging investigation and prosecution; that is a Member’s statement in the Congressional Record and not a charge, a referral, an indictment or a finding.15 Appearing in the released files is not evidence of wrongdoing, and nothing on this page is a finding of any.

Identification

A full-text search of the released files was run under the variants “Ramsey Elkholy”, “Elkholy” alone, “Elkholy, Ramsey” and the address form “ramseyelkholy”. Every page returned belongs to one correspondent of Epstein’s, and the great majority are duplicate copies of the same email threads across the released data sets. The narrower searches returned no charging instrument, no court filing, no deposition, no subpoena, no flight manifest and no telephone message pad; the documents are email correspondence, an address-book extraction from a device seized from Epstein, and scheduling notes from Epstein’s office.1617

His role is fixed in the documents themselves rather than assumed. In January 2010 he told Epstein which agencies his clients were signed to, naming One Management, IMG and MC2, and referred Epstein to his own website for one of them.18 In November 2009 he reported that a client was seeing Elite that afternoon.11 Epstein’s assistant Lesley Groff corresponded with him from her own account about arranging appointments.619

The identification of that correspondent with the anthropologist and musician of the same name is the BBC’s and Digital Music News’s. Both named him, both published his response to them, and the BBC wrote that he “now describes himself as an anthropologist and musician, founder of the band Monotronic, but in the 2010s he was working as a model agent.”14 His own website describes him as “a guitarist, producer, songwriter, and anthropologist who fronts Monotronic, an indietronica collective he founded in 2016”, says he holds a PhD in anthropology, and names him as the author of a 2016 ethnography of the Orang Rimba of Sumatra.220 Contemporaneous correspondence with Epstein corroborates parts of this account: in April 2010 he wrote that he had just defended his thesis (“had my thesis defense at Manchester yesterday, gruelling but I’m done!”) and later sent Epstein a bound copy of it; in February 2015 he wrote that he had sent a publisher “a dummied down version of my thesis”; and in November 2018 he mentioned that he had been “back and forth NY-LA recording and mixing an album.”21

First contact, 2009

The earliest document is not the office exchange this page previously named; it is a message from Epstein himself. On August 10, 2009, in the weeks after Epstein was released from jail in Florida on a charge of soliciting prostitution from a minor, Epstein wrote to him directly: “where are you now that i a am a free man”, quoted exactly as printed, including Epstein’s own typo.22 It is the plainest evidence in the documents these searches returned that he knew what Epstein had just been through.

Sixteen days later, on August 26, 2009, an assistant wrote on Epstein’s behalf: “Hello Ramsey! Jeffrey would like to speak with you today. Might you be available to talk between 1-3:00?” He replied from Germany the following morning, and Groff forwarded the reply to Epstein under the subject line “Ramsey”.61 A message he sent the following month carries the subject line “RE: where are you now”; from its own header, it is a reply within the August 10 thread rather than a separate exchange.23

Introductions, 2009 to 2011

The correspondence of late 2009 is largely about women he proposed Epstein should meet. On October 25, 2009 he wrote of one that he had “had her in mind while you were away as sort of a coming out gift”, said “I really want you to meet her”, and attached photographs.8 Three days later, after Epstein had offered him something in return, he wrote: “I appreciate your offer and I don’t need to tell you that I also value your friendship. The reason I never ask for anything in return for introducing you to models is because I consider it more of a favor and I know that you are also good for favors”. He ended, “You’re a solid person Jeffrey and that means the world to me”, and offered to arrange a meeting with the woman whose name the document blacks out “or any of the other girls”.9

An email of October 22, 2009 sets out what he understood Epstein to want. Of one woman he wrote that she was “23 but oozes sex” and “5’11 and truly a genetic masterpiece”; of a second, “also 23, very hot blonde, we could set up a ‘casting’ of some sort”, adding, “I know 23 is on the old side for you, but I think they’re both worth meeting for different reasons.” One of the two he called “a business-minded sex machine”. Elsewhere on the same page he describes a third woman as “young (19)”.10

He also discussed what to tell the women. On December 3, 2009, asked by Epstein about someone whose name the document blacks out, he replied: “let me check…I need a pitch, can I say Limited Brands, are you still tight w Ed?”11 A month earlier, of a different client an agency had rejected, Epstein had written, “i will help in anyway i can… its difficult to push down their throats.. not in yours or her interest,, but you decide, I will do as you ask.” He asked in reply whether Epstein had a relationship with “Eddie Trump” at Elite, adding that the client “could probably use a little push to be on the safe side.”11

On January 12, 2010, replying to a message in which Epstein had written only “i’ll be in new york on wed”, he ran through his roster by agency and by whether each woman would be suitable: “i have a few new girls, 2 girls w One Mgmt, but both are young so that won’t work, another girl I have recently placed w IMG who just flew to Paris, she’s 19 but a hard core christian, so i don’t think that will work, which is a shame, she’s a 5’11 blonde barbie doll.” He went on to name two other women, both college graduates in their early twenties, whom he described as “interesting people, can hold a conversation etc,” adding, “but again they are both around 23-24.”18

Not every introduction was pitched in these terms, and not every proposal went anywhere. In September 2010 he asked Epstein to arrange for a client, whom he said he had “never thought to introduce” to Epstein socially, to be seen by Vera Wang’s team for showroom modelling work; Epstein referred the request to Groff.24 Three exchanges before the “Hungarian and american” message quoted below, in January 2011, he had asked Epstein “what would you do w a girl like this? acting?”; Epstein answered, “she looks a little old. pr, maybe.”25

The released files also corroborate part of the BBC’s account of his career on their own terms. Ruslana Korshunova, a Kazakhstani model, visited Epstein’s private island in 2006 at the age of 18, according to published flight logs; she died in a fall from a New York apartment in 2008, which authorities ruled a suicide. He had been her agent, and told Epstein in 2009 that he was in Luxembourg handling paperwork relating to “Ruslana’s Estate.”1 In January 2011 he wrote to end his professional relationship with another client, telling her he would not have agreed to represent her had he known of her connection, through a third party, to “the Ruslana Korshunova situation,” that he had since learned of “many reports” of her drug use and “involvement in abusive behavior” in that relationship, and referring her to a named addiction service and a named domestic-violence centre.26

The BBC reported that the released files suggest he was in touch with the French modelling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, whom Brazilian women told the BBC had recruited girls for Epstein to sexually exploit, and who was found dead in a Paris prison cell in 2022 while under investigation for the rape and trafficking of minors.1 The documents record contact by forename only: in November 2009 he asked Epstein, “I think jean luc liked her, what do you think?”, and Epstein replied, “i can ask if you want..”27 In February 2011 Epstein wrote to “Jean Luc Brunel” directly that “ramsey is thinking of buying megamodels miami for 1.5 million.. …ideas?”; the reply was discouraging: “I don’t think Ramsey will be able to make any money with mega as it is now.”28

In February 2011, asked by Epstein whether he could come that day, he answered: “Tomorrow afternoon? I have 2 girls staying at my place that I can invite along, Hungarian and american”.25 He told the BBC in March 2026 that he regretted the language in some of these emails and that he had not been aware Epstein was abusing women; his account is set out below.1

The correspondence of July 2011

The message this section is built around does not stand alone. It is the end of a five-week sequence, all of it contemporaneous, that the released files carry in multiple copies.

Weeks earlier, in similar terms, he had written to Epstein of a woman then staying with him that he was “working on her” and that she was “ok w lingerie I think, otherwise still kinda conservative.”29 By July 24 he wrote of a woman, redacted in the image, who was “alone this last week in NY” and had “lost $” on a trip, calling her “desperate for cash,” and describing his efforts to persuade her into modelling lingerie as “a step” toward what he called “an ongoing project” and, of himself, “a great experiment.”30 Just after 1 a.m. on July 27 he wrote to Epstein: “I hope you are getting some mileage out of [name blacked out in the image]‘s situation, being all alone her last week in NY, etc…”31 Epstein replied nine minutes later, in full: “zero.”32 Eight minutes after that he wrote again: “I talked to her and she told me that she would do lingerie if you asked her…she is too shy to suggest it herself, but there are a million and one ways to get her in her panties, vera wang, vs, etc…it would mean a lot to me if you could break down goodie two shoe :) and I have prepped her…”32

On July 31, 2011 he wrote to Epstein again, of the same woman. Epstein’s own reply that afternoon quotes the message. After a first sentence saying that the woman was extending her stay, it reads: “Jeffrey PLEASE get this girls clothes off, I really need that so I can feel whole about all this because she’s such a pain in the ass. I also think it would be good to get her to open up a bit.”33 Elkholy’s own message of August 2, 2011, quoting the same chain back to Epstein, carries the identical wording.34 The BBC’s own account of this correspondence, published in March 2026, describes the same sequence in its own words: that he wrote of a woman “desperate for cash,” that he hoped Epstein was “getting some mileage” out of her being “all alone” in New York, that Epstein “replied with a single word — ‘zero’”, and that he then wrote the message quoted below.1

A search of the released files for the July 31 sentence returns at least twelve documents quoting it in those words (a floor rather than a count, since one copy’s text layer breaks the word “this” in a way the search misses) and two quoting it differently. Those two are one message, produced twice: sent on May 20, 2014 from Epstein’s own address to his own address, in which the same paragraph reads “Jeffrey PLEASE just try her in bed”, with a clause added after it, the closing sentence replaced by a coarser one, and two further sentences appended.35 One minute and fifty-two seconds before writing that message, Epstein forwarded the authentic 2011 chain, word for word, from his own address to his own address.36 The BBC quoted the 2014 wording in March 2026.1 Epstein wrote messages to himself that reproduced and altered real correspondence; which wording the message carried when it was sent is not settled by these documents. The contemporaneous copies, and the message he forwarded a minute and fifty-two seconds before writing the altered version, are the ones quoted above. He told the BBC that he had sent the message with the woman’s permission.1

Meetings at Epstein’s house, 2014

The office correspondence shows appointments being made for him and for women he brought. On June 9, 2014 he was asked: “Hi Ramsey. Will 6-6:15 be good for you to come see Jeffrey tonight?”17

The fullest sequence runs from September 2 to 9, 2014. On September 2 Epstein’s office asked, “Ramsey, could you come see Jeffrey at 4pm on Monday Sept. 8th at his home?”37 He answered the next day, “Should be ok”. On the morning of the 8th the office checked again, “can you be at Jeffrey’s home today at 4pm? Even 4:30 is ok”, and he replied, “Sure be there at 4:30.”38 The schedule Epstein’s office had circulated on September 5 for that Monday carries a 4pm line reading “Appt w/Ramsey” followed by a blacked-out parenthesis, on a day whose other entries are meetings with Bill Gates, Tom Pritzker, Leon Black, Larry Summers, Mort Zuckerman and Kathryn Ruemmler.39 The revised schedule Groff sent to Epstein at 6:47 p.m. UTC, which is 2:47 p.m. in New York, carries the subject line “Ramsey Elkholy”, opens “Ramsey will come see you at 4:30”, and lists “4:30pm Appt w/Ramsey” in the same form; it went out, in other words, before the appointments it lists, not after them.19 At 7:54 p.m. Epstein wrote to him: “nice seeing you, is your friend going go come tomorw?”40

The following afternoon he told the office, “I’ll come w her and will try to bring one other model as well, a Russian painter. 4:30 should be ok.” The appointment was then moved. “Please MEET JEFFREY at Frederic Fekkai Salon NOT THE HOUSE!”, the office wrote at 8:13 p.m. UTC, which is 4:13 p.m. in New York and shortly after the exchange above, adding, “You can go now with the girls”.12 He told the BBC that the files show he only met Epstein ten to twelve times over a ten year period. That is a count of meetings; none of the sources cited on this page records a response from him to the office bringing women to them.1

Brazil and the modelling agencies, 2016 and 2017

Earlier in 2016, suggesting a woman as a scouting contact, he was turned down outright: Epstein replied, “Pass. Thanks for thinking of me.”41

In 2016 he travelled to Brazil and put a series of investments to Epstein. On September 10 he wrote that he was meeting the owner of Joy Models in São Paulo; Epstein asked, “do you want to own a part of joy. ?” He answered the next day that “Way Models is also for sale and they are the best agency in Brazil, so if you want to go in on an agency I would suggest Way”, and raised a third option, an annual national modelling contest: “It would involve paying the organizer and then he would find sponsors and they would scour the country in search of prospective models. Would you be interested in that? This way you would be getting younger girls, and less jaded by the modeling industry. Fresh faces basically.”13

On October 2 he sent Epstein figures. The contest, he wrote, needed “about 500k USD to do it right, basically the same way Elite did it when it was called the Elite Model Look contest. 9 months, 30-40 cities, something like 200,000 girls, which then narrows down to 10,000, then 1,000, then 100”. He added: “This would involve having access to all the girls, which you can decide what to do with. It’s rare that the winner of these contests goes on to make it big, it’s usually another overlooked girl, which is why I like this - for you I mean. You could basically fly these girls to wherever in the US (there’s a Brazilian agency that does the US visas), or Paris or Caribbean.” Of a stake in Ford Models Brazil he wrote on the following page, “I’m assuming you are more interested in the access to”, followed by an emoji in place of the noun, “so I’m guessing 1 mill would do that”. Epstein replied two days later: “you can sign the nda and get ford numbers. i am around on wed if you have time in new york.”14

He had made the same point about a magazine in August: “A Brazilian fashion magazine is for sale. If we can get it cheap would you like to buy it together? All castings can come through NY so you could easily have 20-30 girls trying for the cover each month. Just an idea…”42 He also weighed buying an agency outright that August, telling Epstein he was “passing” on one for sale because he trusted no one to run it, and the following January that he had “walked away” from a separate licensing deal in the United States over contract terms he considered unfair. Epstein agreed: “not a good beginning i would advise you to find something else.” Asked whether the other side might reimburse his legal fees, Epstein wrote only, “forget it.”43 In November he proposed that Epstein meet the Joy owners, who wanted to buy out existing agencies in Eastern Europe to run as satellites under the Joy name: “Seeing as these agencies would mostly be for scouting and placement in NY and Paris I think it would be a great investment for your purposes. The idea being to cast a very wide net through scouting and development, contests, etc, so that there’s always a steady stream of fresh new faces.”44

The same month he asked Epstein for help structuring his own purchase of magazine shares: “Should I buy these shares as myself, my LLC, or under another name or entity altogether (offshore company)? Brazilian tax laws are tricky when it comes foreign investment, was wondering if you had any thoughts/advise or perhaps could recommend a descent attorney”.45 On December 8 he asked whether to buy into the American launch of L’Officiel before its flotation. Epstein answered, “stay oaway”, and then, “sorry, print is dead”. Elkholy replied: “Grrrrr…think of all the girls I would have f-ed…ok I’ll pass on it..maybe just buy Brazil for a couple hundred k, that will insure a steady stream of”, followed by a coarse term for women.46 In August 2017 he told Epstein he had not bought the magazine after all: “No even better, I have the local (brazilian) publisher in my pocket. So anytime I want them to shoot a girl I just give him a few k.”47 Epstein did respond to these proposals: he agreed to sign the Ford Models NDA, and he told Elkholy to stay away from both the L’Officiel launch and the American magazine deal. No source cited on this page records a further comment from him on the Joy Models or contest proposals specifically, and none of the ventures discussed above is recorded as having gone ahead.

March 2018

The documents these searches returned report nothing between August 2017 and January 2019 apart from two messages, both concerning a plan to approach a woman without her realising he was involved. On March 1, 2018 he wrote: “She knows all the other Czech girls so better not to mention [name blacked out in the image]! I think she will be much more open knowing it’s a discrete situation. I’ll excuse myself to go to the bathroom and you can ask for her number, this way she won’t feel self conscious around me.”48 Five days later, asked whether she was free that day, he wrote: “No idea…and if I ask her she’ll prob think it’s a set up… probably better to go direct so she doesn’t see me as being in the middle. I’m guessing she would be more open if she thought I didn’t know what was going on.”49 Neither message is addressed by anything he has said publicly, and the woman is not named or described further here.

The last messages, 2019

On January 25, 2019 he wrote of a woman, “She will be in London if you want to import her.” Epstein asked, “does she prefer us or paris.” On April 6 Elkholy asked, “How’s life? Any idea how to get a US visa for Russians? Is it as difficult as they say these days?”, and set out the woman’s circumstances and the waiting times at two consulates. Epstein replied, “Difficult. But you she can apply in another country if she is there for a reason, she works there. Lives there. etc.” Elkholy answered with more detail, and Epstein’s final reply was, “Her resume, or she can try in Dubai.”750 That exchange is the last between them in the documents these searches returned, and no source cited on this page records anything further from either man. Epstein was arrested three months later.

His account

One exchange from the documents is worth setting beside what follows. On May 26, 2011, of a different woman, he wrote to Epstein: “She knows nothing about you going away.”51 It shows that by then he knew Epstein had been imprisoned; it does not show what, if anything, he knew of the abuse.

He gave his fullest recorded answer to the BBC, which published it on March 28, 2026. He told the broadcaster that he regretted the language in some of the emails and his association with Epstein, and that he had not been aware Epstein was abusing women. He said he had not been part of Epstein’s inner circle, and that the files show he only met Epstein ten to twelve times over a ten year period. Of the July 2011 message he said he had sent it with the woman’s permission. Of an introduction he made in 2010, to an 18-year-old college student he described meeting in a shop, he said he had done so in the hope Epstein would help her find modelling work. The article’s own opening sentence describes him as having introduced women “as young as 18” to Epstein, and it says several other women he discussed were 19; its closing line, which is also this page’s source for the point, is that the BBC had seen no reference to anyone younger.1 The two youngest women identified by age anywhere in the documents these searches returned are both 18: one, described in a July 2010 message as a Russian college student he met at an Apple Store, and another described in a January 2011 message as an 18-year-old Czech; neither is named in the documents cited here.52

A complainant’s allegation against him became public before either of these interviews. A woman told the Wall Street Journal in 2023 that he had introduced her to Epstein and that Epstein had subsequently sexually exploited her.3 Digital Music News reported on February 10, 2026 that he had denied wrongdoing or awareness of the exploitation through his lawyer Bruce Rosen, who told that paper: “He did not realize at the time that Epstein was such a manipulator and sexual predator.” Rosen added, in the same report, that his client “was star-struck being around Epstein and the celebrities in his orbit and tried to impress him… he deeply regrets his interactions with Epstein.”4 The Wall Street Journal article of December 17, 2023 is indexed as naming both men; its text is behind a paywall and could not be read through the routes available here, so the wording above is Digital Music News’s report of it and not a reading of the article itself.3

He also spoke to Digital Music News directly. Reporting on March 17, 2026 that his lawyers had sent it a cease-and-desist letter, the publication quoted him telling it, “But you’re a good writer and the piece was well researched so might as well get it right and redact the excessive parts”, and, “Nobody seems to understand who Epstein was. His identity has taken on a mythic Kaiser Sose-like quality. If you met him you wouldn’t think anything was off, other than he’s always surrounded by interesting people and beautiful women. I can give you some insights into why he needed people like Ghislaine Maxwell, who I have never met.” The letter, which the publication quoted rather than published, alleged that its earlier article conveyed “false and defamatory implications concerning our client” and served as a preservation notice. Digital Music News reported that it did not take up his offer of an off-the-record interview, and that his counsel had not returned its calls. No lawsuit against the publication is recorded in any source cited on this page.53

The Washington Post published an investigation on June 8, 2026 headlined “This agent sent models to meet Jeffrey Epstein. Now he’s trying to explain why.” Its text sits behind a hard paywall: direct requests from this machine were refused, and every archived or cached copy found (a Wayback Machine capture of the metered page, an alternative newsletter rendering, and a plain-text fetch of the page shell) carries only its opening two paragraphs or no part of the article at all. A further snapshot is confirmed to exist on archive.today that returned a CAPTCHA to every route tried here. What follows is therefore not a reading of the Post’s own article. It is Raw Story’s write-through of it, published the same day and fetched directly for this page, which attributes each quotation below to the Post by name.5

He told the Post, “Everybody wanted to be in the room with Epstein… It’s just the kind of thing where everyone’s trying to get something out of it.” The Post reported that he is now “ashamed” of what he wrote, that he is “1,000 percent sure” he did nothing illegal, and that he says Epstein never paid him. “The reason why all of this bodes so terribly for me is because of my potty mouth,” he told the Post. “I was just being stupid, actually, because all of that language was not based on anything that was happening.” He said he never facilitated abuse and always chaperoned the women he introduced to Epstein, that two models he represented secured Victoria’s Secret contracts after meeting Epstein, on which he would have earned a ten per cent commission, and that “if a model gets Victoria’s Secret, her career is made.”

In the same interview he acknowledged fabricating a claim that a Russian supermodel had agreed to meet Epstein, and said a scouting trip to Europe he had offered to make on Epstein’s behalf “never happened.” Asked about the gap between his emails and his account of them, he said the crude language was meant to impress Epstein rather than describe anything real: “Agents lie. All modeling agents will say what they need to say.” Of the Wall Street Journal complainant he told the Post that he could not identify her and that if she had chosen to enter a “relationship” with Epstein, that was not his responsibility.

He has since moved to California, where he works as a musician; he told the Post that the coverage has, unexpectedly, increased his band’s streaming numbers. “I just wish all this would go away,” he said.5

A search of the released files for invoices, wires, checks, commissions or loans naming him and Epstein together returns none; that is what the search found, not a fact about the release as a whole, and it is consistent with his statement to the Post that Epstein never paid him.54

Named in the House record

On August 31, 2026 Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky was given permission to address the House for one minute. Saying that a year after the Epstein Files Transparency Act was signed the government “continues to withhold over 3 million files”, and that “we have introduced the Epstein Files Transparency Act II”, he went on: “We want perpetrators of these crimes to be investigated and prosecuted, men like:”. He then named thirteen men, among them “Ramsey Elkholy”, and one woman, and added: “Perhaps hearing these names will shame the Department of Justice into delivering justice.”15

The characterisations in that sentence are the Member’s own. It is a statement in the Congressional Record, made on the floor of the House. No charge, referral, indictment or finding follows from it, and being named in it is not evidence of anything. No response from him to those remarks appears in any source cited on this page.
