Dear Lindy: I am writing out of professional courtesy, and out of a sense of professional concern regarding the what is effectively a disingenuous erasure of the Origins Project, and with it all the resources that scores of scientists had contributed to developing over the years for the use of teachers, students, and the general public that occurred when Origins `transitioned' into your Interplanetary Initiative. The process has been unprofessional, but also unfair to Origins participants, donors, and members of the general public, and goes against what should be the University's commitment to knowledge and education. I respectfully request that: (a) The Origins web site, with all its resources and links, be restored for the benefit of those individuals who use the site, and in honor of all the people who contributed time and scholarship to the program. (b) Those who have donated to Origins be informed that their funds are now being used to support the Interplanetary Initiative and that they be given the option of moving those funds to other programs that may better reflect their interests.
