We all agreed that we have to get in touch with the Norwegians and make sure, again, that they understand that FAH will not be leaving Yemen and to impress upon them that a trial in Yemen is the only option available to them for justice. However, Plan B, should be to look into the feasibility of a trial in Norway and only when this has been examined and researched will they propose it to their Client, FAH. What transpired and what we have to concentrate on, at the moment, is as follows; 1. Ian Burton will need a formal letter from the Ministry of Justice, preferably signed by the Minister himself or a senior member of the Ministry, that would state that; o Yemeni Authorities will allow/accept a trial to be held in Yemen. o What role will the British Authorities have in this process and what will be needed from the British authorities for this (File on the Case held by the CPS e.t.c). o The process will be completely transparent. o If found guilty, what is the range of sentencing and where will the sentence be served. o The Yemeni Embassy in the UK must be on board with this so that they can answer questions from the media when this comes out into the open. 2. When approaching the Norwegians, Ian and Ken would want to speak on behalf of not only FAH, but also on behalf of the family in that they are also representing the family in trying to mitigate a way forward in this matter. 3.
