I agree, FU is under tremendous stress.... 2. I don't know if this because (a) he's being asked to do silly things by eileen (which he shld ignore or bring to me); (b) he's being asked to do silly things(?) by me, ie, finish up the 2014 non-tax financials for leon personally (which I outlined as a priority in leons office yesterday; (c) is misinterpreting certain of your requests, ie, the cashflow that he submitted last night that seems to have started this whole thing was— in rich's mind-- was motivated by a request from you which he may have misunderstood regarding 4/15 gift taxes (d) the fact he now seems to have two bosses in you and me and this fact is causing him to short circuit or (e) this is the first year he's doing the front-line taxes himself and this is too overwhelming for him....or, of course, a combination of all of the above. I think the idea of getting larry delson in to support/help him--if that's what you're thinking— is an excellent idea. Using last year's "template" of having tom do first draft taxes with rich and larry reviewing (before you and alan) might also lessen rich's stress levels.... I don't know enuf to make a suggestion here. I spent 30 minutes+ with rich yesterday talking abt his priorities( tax and finishing 2014 reporting); I spent well over an hour the day before in building the first draft calendar of what he has to do between now and april 15 and where he needs outside help and review.... We shld talk and figure out how to "solve" the rich issue, at least for this tax season. B From: Jeffrey E.
