Walls in chinoiserie with intricate carved gilded trim...perhaps holding lit porcelain figures or Lalique birds (not sure how you feel about birds)...the motifs and coloring in the chinoiserie will need careful study, perhaps we considering a tone on tone palette with gilded figures (similar to teh Peacock Room)...perhaps the ceiling is eglomise panels, back painted glass...a luminous ceiling with chinoiserie details or perhaps astrological signs...or other...maybe we change the floor to wood to a beautiful inlay pattern (no central medallion)...and create two groups of seating, one with comfortable sofas/chairs, another with a dining table for 4 or 6...1 still think it might be nice to keep a fireplace but change the scale, change the feeling of it entirely... Let me know your thoughts... My best, Amy On Wed, May 21, 2014 at 12:10 PM, Amy Cassell 1 r> wrote: Fantastic...it's a great starting point...but I want to give it a twist, I'll send you some ideas. And I know several groups who can do this type of work...in Paris and NYC. If you agree, I'd like to set up an Experiement Room in the house, so that all of the samples can live there and you can see full scale mock ups (fabrics, carpet, wall and floor finishes) in various types of light to evaulate and debate before we decide to execute...think about it...maybe there's a spot we could use?
