FD-1057 (12cv. 5-8-10) UNCLASSIFIED//LES FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION Electronic Communication Title: (U//LES) Response to Freedom of Information / Privacy Acts Request - Jeffrey Epstein - FOIPA 1560541 From: NEW YORK NY-C35 Contact: Approved By: NY-C19 (SSA) Drafted By: Case ID #: 190-HQ-A3499331- RESTRICTED Date: 10/05/2022 (U) RESTRICTED - Access Denied Synopsis: (U//LES) Response to Freedom of Information / Privacy Acts Request - Jeffrey Epstein - FOIPA 1560541 Reference: 190-HQ-A3499331 Serial 3503 Details: As requested by the Record/Information Dissemination Section (RIDS) in regards to FOIPA 1560541, the below questions are addressed as they relate to FBI New York investigation 90A-NY-3151227. 1. What is the current status of the pending investigation (e.g., investigation is ongoing, awaiting U.S. Attorney decision to prosecute, trial is pending, an appeal from the trial is pending, etc.)? The investigation has been labeled pending inactive as the FBI has been actively transferring all evidence items over to the Office of Inspector General (OIG). From initiation, the FBI and DIG were partners in the investigation concerning the death of Jeffrey Epstein. Although the subjects in the FBI investigation were given a deferred prosecution agreement which has been fulfilled, GIG still has not concluded it's investigation into the systematic failures of the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) UNCLASSIFIED//LES EFTA00175052
