UNCLASSIFIED//FOUO SITUATIONAL REPORT (SITREP) Jeffrey Epstein — Victim; Irregularities in a Federal Penal Institution; Death Investigation; 90A-NY-3151227 (U) Current Situation of Epstein Death investigation, as of 1:00 p.m. EDT 08/12/2019: • (U//FOUO) Members of the VCTF, SDNY, and OIG began the interview of the Warden of the MCC at approximately 10:00 a.m. on 8/12/2019 • (U/fFOUO) Members of the VCTF submitted the MCC video hard drives to NYO CART. A preliminary review of the hard drives indicated that the video system they were connected to is proprietary to the MMC/BOP. Consequently, NYO CART will need to facilitate any potential review of video on the hard drives through the MCC system. • (U//FOUO) Members of the VCTF received "Forthwith" subpoenas from SDNY to be served to three (3) of the Correctional Officers for seizure of their cell phones. Interviews will be attempted following the service of those subpoenas. (U) Current Situation of the search of Epstein's private island, Little St. James, as it relates to the ongoing Sex Trafficking investigation. • At approximately 0855 on 8/12/2019, members of the NYO's Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force (CEHTTF) and the NYO's ERT Little St. James (LSJ) Island and were met on the dock by attorney his associate and two security personnel. advised he was contacted during the evening of 8/11/2019, informed of the pending FBI search warrant and instructed to be on LSJ to meet the CEHTTF upon arrival. • Interviews of the security personnel have been completed. Nothing significant to report. • Search of the buildings is ongoing. Various items of digital evidence have been seized but assessment of the IT network is ongoing. • As compared to the NY residence, there are nominal nude paintings/photographs. • The CEHTTF hasn't encountered any security or wellness issues. • Various areas of interest still need to be searched but the search is expected to be concluded i
