UNCLASSIFIED//FOUO SITUATIONAL REPORT (SITREP) Jeffrey Epstein — Victim; Irregularities in a Federal Penal Institution; Death Investigation; 90A-NY-3151227 (U) Current Situation of Epstein Death investigation, as of 10:00 a.m. EDT 08/13/2019: • (U//FOUO) NYO CART continues efforts to download any potentially usable video from the MCC's video surveillance system. The usable video being sought, at a minimum, will extend back to the date of Epstein's first suicide attempt on 7/23/2019. Of note, this process has to be done through the MCC's system and thus takes the video recorders in the MCC offline. This process may take as long as eight (8) days. • (U//FOUO) Members of the VCTF continue coordinated efforts with the SDNY and OIG in an effort to arrange for the interviews of the remaining MCC staff members that are pertinent to the death investigation. (U) Current Situation of the search of Epstein's private island, Little St. James, as it relates to the ongoing Sex Trafficking investigation. • The Child Exploitation Human Trafficking Task Force (CEHTTF) is working to conduct 14 interviews. These interviews were developed from prior interviews or local individuals seeking to speak with the FBI about Jeffrey Epstein. Persons to be interviewed held various positions including IT specialist, property manager, housekeeper, handyman, electrician, air traffic control, and boat captain. • The air traffic control witness noted above was identified pursuant to a USMS investigation of Jeffrey Epstein regarding his failure to properly document foreign travel while transporting females who appeared to be minors. • RDT personnel are coordinating with CIRG personnel regarding the space and weight of personnel, evidence, and equipment to be transported on the Q400 which is expected to depart St. Thomas at 0900 on 8/14/2019. 1 UNCLASSIFIED//FOUO EFTA00147022
