This interview was conducted in the presence of attorney, Timothy Parlatore (1 Liberty Plaza ) • , at the Southern MPLOYEE informed that he has been with the Bureau of Prisons for approximately three (3) years, all serving at the Metropolitan Correctional Center and currently as an "escort" officer. provided information as to how to conduct a proper "count" and round checks, as well as other duties and assignments of guards. When asked about the incident involving Epstein, informed that he recalled a body alarm going off around 0638-0640 hours. took the elevator and stopped at floor *3 to pick up the lieutenant and food service staff. then went to the medical unit on floor #2 and proceeded to escort outside EMS into the facility. Once EMS was on scene and the decision was made to transport Epstein to the hospital was assigned to follow the ambulance and remain with Epstein. informed that doctors at the hospital pronounced Epstein dead at approximately 0736 hours. notified his superiors and was instructed to remain at the hospital and to wait for the warden and captain to arrive.
