this. But my tone was, "sweetie," like I was patting him on the head. "Hey, sweetie, your conduct involved abuse of power too." So it was far from an indication of affection. It was me speaking to him and correcting him from trying to minimize his own prior criminal history against Mr. Weinstein's, and I said it in a way, over email, that was designed to make the medicine go down a little bit easier. Q Understood. Thank you for that. The next term I mentioned was "older brother." A Yes. So that was an email that I sent to his executive assistant. At the time that I sent -- that I used those words, I didn't know Epstein. I'd only known him for a couple of months. He had referred a -- as I said, he had referred this important client to me. It was a -- it was a big matter. It was a good matter. We did great work for that -- for the bank. And I was traveling, I think for the first time, is my recollection, from New York over to Geneva, which is where the bank was based. And, again, he was the primary advisor. And if I'm recalling this email correctly, he had asked for his executive assistant to upgrade me on the flight. And I said -- or it was some other thing that he was asking -- it was something involving my flying to Geneva or he was asking his executive assistant to do for me. And to show my appreciation -- which, again, I didn't ask for it. I didn't need it. He knew I was traveling there because he had this primary advisory relationship with the client. And I was saying, you know, "He doesn't really need to do this." And she's like, "No, he just wants to be nice." And I said, "Oh, he's" -- I think I said something like, "I adore him. He's like an older brother." Again, he was -- I didn't need any of these things from him, but he -- what I thought at the time was that he was being nice; this was insignificant to him, in terms of the value. I wasn't paying for the flight anyway, because it was a business trip. And that was the context in which I made that reference. Q Thank you for that explanation.
