A I know in 2013, his representation that he could raise billions, or tens of billions for global health became a significant subject of discussion. Mr. . Was there anyone else on that call? Mr. Gates. I'm not sure. BY MR. Q And that call took place during a period of time where you still thought that Mr. Epstein might plausibly raise the sums that he was representing to you? A That's right. Through, you know, I would say September, I mistakenly took him at his word, then I became quite skeptical. But through September 2014, I was still hoping that it would -- that billions would be raised for global health. Q Referring back to Exhibit D, if I could, I would just like to walk through some of these entries which refer to you and meetings that you had, according to this document, with Jeffrey Epstein. So I'm looking at the top, the entry for Wednesday, February 27th, 2013, there is reference to an appointment from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. with you at the Four Seasons. Do you recall having a meeting with Mr. Epstein at the Four Seasons on that date? [Discussion off the record.] Mr. Gates. Yeah. The only thing we show on February of that year, which, you know, my calendar is kept pretty precisely, all we show is a Skype call on, I believe, February 27th. Oh, no. Okay. We're in 2013.
