I completed 6 years in the military, one tour in Kuwait. I worked for the United States Postal Service and then, later on, went on to working for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, along with other employment. Q When did you begin working at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City? A June 2018. Q You mentioned your job right before then was working for the U.S. Postal Service? A Correct. Q Okay. What years did you work at MCC? A 2018 -- June 2018 to August 10th, 2019. Q How was it that you ended up working at MCC? A While working at the United States Postal Service, I received a call from MCC to gain employment there, and I accepted. Q So someone reached out to you? A Correct. Q Okay. And why did you make that decision to start working there? A Because I had the background in criminal justice, and I wanted to pursue my degree field. Q What was your first role or position at MCC? A Correctional officer. Q Were you ever assigned to more than one role while at MCC? A No, ma'am. Q Can you describe what your responsibilities were in that role? A My role as a correctional officer was to oversee inmates to make sure that they're performing their daily tasks and the functions and to make sure that they're accounted for. Q And at what point were you assigned to the Special Housing Unit?
