Register Number 02879-509 was assigned to Ghislaine Maxwell on July 6, 2020, the day after her arrest by FBI agents at the Tucked Away property in Bradford, New Hampshire. The trailing -509 suffix identifies the District of New Hampshire as the booking district, but Maxwell was transferred to the Southern District of New York the same morning and housed at the Metropolitan Detention Center Brooklyn (MDC) for the duration of her pretrial detention. A Pretrial Services intake notification preserved in the corpus (EFTA00089426) records her USMS number 02879-509, the five-count indictment (18 U.S.C. §§ 371, 2422, 2423(a), and 1623), and the planned arraignment before Judge Alison J. Nathan on July 10, 2020.

For the next seventeen months Maxwell was held in a single isolation cell at the MDC under conditions that her counsel — Bobbi C. Sternheim, Christian Everdell, and Mark S. Cohen — contested in extensive correspondence with the U.S. Attorney's Office and MDC Legal. Maxwell was convicted on December 29, 2021 of five of six counts and sentenced on June 28, 2022 to 240 months in BOP custody, $750,000 in fines, and five years of supervised release.
