Redaction Locations

Each row is a detected redaction overlay box with spatial coordinates. redaction_type indicates overlay quality: bad_overlay (text layer still readable), proper_redaction (text fully removed), white_rectangle. The hidden_text column contains incidental text-layer fragments where overlays were improperly applied, not recovered secrets.

Methodology note: These records were generated by scanning for black rectangles in document images, then checking the invisible OCR text layer at those coordinates. The EFTA documents are scanned images with baked-in redaction bars — not PDF files with removable annotation overlays. The ocr_text column contains whatever the scanner’s OCR engine produced when it tried to read the black bar area. Approximately 98% of these entries are garbled OCR noise, not genuine hidden text. The viral claim that redacted text can be revealed by copy-pasting from behind black bars is not supported by the PDF structure of these files.
