Short- term negative side effects are believed by some to include sensory distortion, panic, anxiety, poor coor- dination of movement, reduced reaction time, lethargy or drowsiness, depression and elevated heart rate. Longer-term effects may include suppression of the immune system, growth disorders, destruc- tion of lung fibers, brain lesions, reduced sexual capacity, difficulties with concentration, reduced abil- ity to learn and retain information, and personality and mood changes. There is also an ongoing debate about whether cannabis consumption may lead to the abuse of more harmful substances (the so-called “gateway drug” debate). 30 © 2017 Ackrell Capital, LLC | Member FINRA/SIPC HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_024666
