4.2.12 WC: 191694 Pierre Trudeau When the Canadian government was confronted with terrorism from some people seeking independence for Quebec, Prime Minister Trudeau invoked an emergency law called “The War Measures Act” that authorized arrests without trial of dangerous people. The Prime Minister then convened a conference of Canadian experts to advise him about the implementation of this extraordinary law. We met at an isolated resort on a frozen lake.
