There are many synthetic carpets made to look like silk, but they lose their luster when treated for flammability . I have contacted our European manufacture to see if the European washed nylon is suitable for the plane and expect to have answers and samples tomorrow I still think a worsted wool carpet woven loop cut is a very good option. You don't have the shine of silk, but you get all the other benefits• durability, clean ability and fire proof I have ordered a sample of the worsted wool, navy blue 100% NZ yarn 450 weight treated for aircraft and a sample of the selected silk also treated. I will tell you how long these will take tomorrow. Marc Sacco From: jeffrey E.
