After an extensive search and careful consideration, Ma=ager Morales has decided to recommend Dan Oates, the current Police Chief =f Aurora, Colorado, to be the Chief of Poli=e for Miami Beach. Manager Morales' decision was based o= Chief Oates' tremendous leadership qualities, integrity, and years of law=enforcement experience. (See Chief Oates' biography below.) As per the City Charter, Chief Oates must still be conf=rmed by the Mayor and City Commission. I look forward to discussing Chief Oates' qualification= and appointment with my fellow Members of the City Commission at a future=publicly noticed meeting. I am confident he is the right choice to be our =ext Chief of Police. Sincerely, Philip EFTA_R1_01361750 EFTA02365897
