I thought what he was mainly looking for is great reporting, for finding really interesting areas to explore and perhaps support. But one of the most lyrical writers I know is a former staff editor here. He's currently working on another book, and I don't know how busy he ma be but here are a cou•le of e-mails: You can tell him I sent you if Jeffrey decides to reach out. People (including me) also love the writing whose book on Ebola just came out. I am sure I can find his e-mail someplace if Jeffrey is interested. In the life-sciences area, especially about evolution, is a pro, with many books to his credit. (I loved Parasite Rex from a few years ago.) He often writes on a freelance basis for the New York Times. He sometimes writes for us at Scientific American as well. Well, they all do. Anyway, I can find his e-mail without much trouble, also, if needed. Hope those help.
