The =xhibition is an exploration of Picasso's legacy, presenting =orks by contemporary artists who have been influenced by the great =aster of modern art. At the heart of the exhibition is a =pecially-commissioned project by British artist Wolfe von =enkiewicz, which explores the formal relationship between Picasso and =apanese ukiyo-e art. These sumptuous large paintings recall the =lorious geishas of 19th century Japanese artist Kikugawa Eizan, but =ith all the dynamism and panache of Picasso. The exhibition also =resents a collection of works on paper by Richard Prince, a fabulous =rray of works by George Condo, and of course a selection =f paintings, prints and drawings by Picasso himself. The =enue is one of New York's most magnificent buildings, a =tunning 1920's edifice, Academy Mansion, on the Upper East =ide.
