B-3 St. Thomas, VI 00802 Dear Mr. Epstein: Our Firm was hired to provide you with an assessment of the origin and history of Little Saint James Island in an effort to ascertain if it would be feasible to seek an official name change. While our research continues, we are at a point where we can provide a preliminary conclusion based on the information gathered. To date, we have assessed that both Greater Saint James and Little Saint James Islands were named for two individual and separate patron saints. Moreover, the current research directs us to believe that Little Saint James' mother was either a sister or other close relative of the Virgin Mary and that Great St. James was the son of Zebedee the fisherman, as referenced in the Bible. Although our research has provided us with a great deal of information to provide a preliminary conclusion about the origin of the name, there are two additional locations in which the Firm is seeking access in order to provide a more definitive report, The Von Schulten Collection and The Caribbean Genealogy Library. If documents from these sources are unable to lead us to a definitive conclusion, the Firm would need to travel outside the Territory in search of a naming document. These documents can be found in the European archives in Holland, England, Spain, France, Italy and the Vatican. The full preliminary report is attached for your perusal. Please review this information and let us know to what extent yo
