If you would, please help me to understand what these payments cover and how they fit together with the payments we made at the end of 2017 ($150K Fed and $30K MA) which were based on vouchers that showed those payments to be paying the balance of the 2017 estimated tax obligations. I need to understand whether the December 2017 payments were indeed applied entirely to 2017 tax obligations and whether the amounts now requested reflect additional 2017 obligations, or whether they also cover estimated payments for 2018 (or some other obligations). The federal estimated voucher that was provided to us in December of 2017 showed estimated taxes of about $222,000, against which a carryforward credit of $72,000 was applied, leaving the $150,000 balance we paid. If the $150,000 payment and the $240,000 now requested is all for 2017 federal taxes that would mean that the total 2017 federal taxes were about $390,000 (instead of the $222,000 that was estimated). Have I got that right? If I have then can you tell me what Noam's 2017 income was? Max A.
