I am attaching a summary of the School of Nursing experience associated with an approved plan for a new building. My "disclaimers:" 1) This is an unofficial summary from speaking with School of Nursing counterparts; 2) This summary was not reviewed or approved for accuracy by the Medical Center administration or the SON, but I am confident is directionally accurate. While the practical steps for all new facilities and major construction at the University are straightforward, the true pathway for each project is entirely unique. CDM has a solid history of excellence and achievement, but we can't ride a bicycle to get to the moon. I hope that we can inspire you to consider helping CDM to achieve a vision shared by all: CDM will be indisputably ranked among the top 5 dental schools, and arguably #1 by any measure. We are all going to deeply miss Ira's leadership, wisdom, and day to day presence, but I am certain he will help in any way that he can going forward and be available 24/7. University Presidents/Deans come and go, but the overall vision does not change too much—new leaders adjust the road map. Please let me know if you would like to discuss this summary, have questions or would like additional information. I can send some general background information specific to CDM in the next few days if you would like. Finally, I have not mentioned your potential interest in helping the dental school to anyone except my husb
