I received your email from Mr. Kahn, and wanted to say "hello." I hope you received my letter from Dr. Watson a few weeks ago. Mr. Epstein, I wanted to thank you sincerely for your unbelievable kindness and generosity. We haven't yet met in person, and I am simply dumbfounded and at a loss for words in response to your support of my endeavors and career in music. I am not sure how much you know of my background, but I have been playing since I was three and a half. My father has been ill for most of my life with a rare chronic disease (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) that causes him extreme pain. When the time came to choose a path for college, I decided on doing a dual degree between Harvard (Bachelors in Economics with pre-medicine) and the New England Conservatory (Masters in Music for piano), largely because while I knew that I loved music, I realized that it was an extremely difficult path that requires a combination of hard work, God's blessing, and luck.
