From: Jes Staley <. To: Jes Staley <. Subject: Atlantic Date: Thu, 31 Oct 2013 17:41:55 +0000 I arrived a few hours ago. Bequia is docked in the harbor of Mlndelo, the main port town of Sao Vicente, an Island in the Cape Verde's. We are some 400 miles off the coast of Senegale and with a latitude of 16.53' N, we are pretty much a straight shot west to Antigua, our destination on the other side of the Atlantic. Seumas, Bequia's captain, asked me to bring a spare, raw water pump for the main engine, a 350 hp Cummins. Bequia is now primed and ready for her long journey. She is a little like an ark, as we have two of almost everything; two water makers, two generators, and lots of pumps and filters. We will leave the dock by 6 o'clock today. The winds are from the north-east at about 13 knots, picking up to 25 knots later this evening. We will raise her full suit of sails and should make good time on our first night out. So begins the reality of a dream to sail 2 thousand miles across the mighty, Atlantic Ocean. I am thinking of Deb, and have a few butterflies. But it is always great to be onboard Bequia. les Staley les Staley Managing Partner BlueMountain Capital Management, LLC 280 Park Avenue, Sth Floor East New York, NY 10017 This e-mail is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material.
