Dear Friends of Young NYC, Your incredible generosity in supporting my team, Young NYC, in the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation (CCFA) Take Steps Walk has been an inspiration and a gift to me and the millions of people in the U.S. with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). I am hoping you will support the team again this year! The CCFA is one of the nation's most important sources of funding for IBD research. Not only has the foundation sponsored investigations into origins and treatments, but they also support research about the epidemiology of IBD, which scientists are now calling an "emerging worldwide epidemic." IBD was once rare, but for reasons not yet fully understood the number of people suffering from IBD has increased dramatically in the past 30 years. A recent study determined nearly 1% of the population of North America now has IBD: that's 5.3 million people. Even more alarming, IBD is spreading faster in infants and children than in other groups. Let's work together to reverse the trend! EFTA00684219
