As you can see, I was bidding on Matt Finish as I was advised by Marwin. When Mr. Epstein came over he changed his mind and asked me for "Piano" Finish on the Steps. This took me few days longer, especially that the Steps were scratched , indented, with nail holes and so forth. High finish will magnify all imperfections and you have to coat the surface with few more layers of varnish. Another thing is, the higher finish require few more coats of varnish. This in itself will delay the deadline to finish, as I need to let all the layers of varnish dry well. Every consecutive layer of varnish will dry longer than the previous one, this is why it takes so long. Nevertheless, Steps will be finished this week. The reason I was postponing the decision on the date of flight is, I do not want to leave the work at the House unfinished while I am estimating new project. I would like to close something I have started before. I can fly to New Mexico in the middle of next week. La Guardia will be better for me than Kennedy Airport, is just closer. I will look again into the flights and get back with you tomorrow.
