Theatre for a New Audience by William Shakespeare Directed by Arin Arbus Illustration by Macon Glaser Please Join Us for Any Performance Running now through April 6, 2013 The Duke on 42nd Street 229 W. 42nd St. (Between 7th and 8th Avenues) RSVP to James Lynes, Capital Campaign Director (212) 229-2819 x 29 or jlvnesetfana.org Sponsored by Deloitte Much Ado About Nothing A tin Arbus, who has directed critically acclaimed productions of Othello, Macbeth and The Taming of the Shrew for Theater for a New Audience stages Shakespeare's romantic comedy Much Ado About Nothing in which two former lovers grudgingly fall in love and do their best not to! Ms. Arbus balances the play's wit and exuberant humor with love that is composed of desire and distrust warmth and anger. Set in early 20th Century Sicily with original music by Michael Friedman, victorious soldiers return from war and set their sights on the peacetime pleasures of clever banter and romance. But, when false information leads one proud nobleman to cruelly denounce his beloved on their wedding day, the verbal sparring flames into private warfare. As Beatrice and Benedick, Maggie Siff (brilliant as Kate last season in Shrew) and Jonathan Cake (Jason in Medea opposite Fiona Shaw) collide in a vivid dance of contrasts. One is British, the other American, one sophisticated, the other rough-edged—two former lovers whose intelligence and obstinacy are perfectly matched. Tickets subject to availability, please give 72 hews notice for tickets. Visit www.tfana.org for more information. EFTA00307617
