Thirty Three Pounds of Cocaine Found in Secret Car Compartment in New York Daily Voice (09/09, Mashburn) reported that Eddie Ruiz, a 47.year.old Manhattan man, was arrested after a traffic stop in Sullivan County, Hudson Valley, where 33 pounds of cocaine were found in a secret car compartment. According to the article, the cocaine was discovered after a drug-sniffing dog was used to search Ruiz's vehicle, which revealed a hidden compartment in the trunk containing 15 kilogram-sized packages of cocaine. According to a Department of justice press release, FBI Assistant Director in Charge Christopher G. Raia stated, An authorized vehicle search revealed Eddie Ruiz allegedly possessed significant quantities of cocaine, seemingly packaged for distribution, that were hidden in storage compartments in the vehicle.
